Okay, my girlfriend and I saw Fishpop on IG and she really wanted to try it, so we came here today…read more We live on the west side, so it was like a 30 minute drive, but that was our choice, so I digress. It's in a food hall, we scanned the QR code at our table and ordered just one order of the spicy fish and chips. The regular order was $20 and the "spicy" was $22. FYI, the spicy is a bit of chili powder sprinkled on it, for $2 more LOL. Wasn't spicy at all besides the red coloring, haha. Past that, we ordered through scanning the QR code. We waited about 15 minutes for our food, no issue, we figured it was cooked to order and GOOD food should never be rushed, right? Dude. I'm not picky, I swear. The waiter/server brings our food to our table, we only got the one order because we wanted to try it before we bought another, given that it was $24 after tax, and $28 after tip. Though, not sure what I really tipped for now. They gave us ONE big square piece, the one in the picture, and ONE Raising Cane's-sized tender along with it, with a handful of fries. The big piece of fish was DRIPPING with oil, seriously just DRIPPING. I could feel my blood thicken and my estrogen rise just looking at it. Dude. We paid $28 for this?? ONE piece of decent fish and ONE piece of a half-breed between a chicken tender and a fish stick, DRIPPING with oil. The fries were seriously the only good part. The tartar sauce was okay. Do not be misled by their videos on Instagram. Pete's Fish & Chips blows this out of the water. Any other fish place blows this out of the water, jesus christ man. I usually don't leave reviews, but man. Fish Pop, if you're going to sell a $22 tray of TWO fish pieces and a FISTFUL of fries, at least don't leave it dripping in oil. I swear, you guys got a spoonful of the fryer oil and just splashed it right on top of the whole tray. It took 5 whole napkins to even be able to somewhat soak it up. Anyways, I do not recommend. Plenty of food here in Tempe, so you're not missing anything here and we definitely won't be coming back. Nice food hall and staff though, just terrible, horrific food from Fish Pop, jesus christ.

Fountain drinks, beer and wine to drink. Plus - Sauce Bar! Help yourself to cocktail sauce, ketchup, good tartar sauce, and ranch against one wall. Find large stainless steel containers of malt vinegar and Louisiana hot sauce across from the register and order counter. This spot is clean! For a restaurant specializing in mostly fried foods, I couldn't smell grease at all. Once we got our food, the grease was clean and the batter was light and crispy. All of our food was cooked perfectly. DELICIOUS. My coworker and I were talking about how much we love fried zucchini one day and she recommended this spot. So thankful that she did. The fried zucchini was next level and the ranch was really good too. BONUS- they have hush puppies on the menu! I've only seen these in the South. Of course, we had to try some along with the fried okra. Amazing and delicious! Fried perfectly & good flavor. Hubs said fish n chips on his top 3 list.

DaShaun and Elena provided amazing customer service. I would drive across town from Laveen any day if I know they're working. They greeted us as we entered the restaurant and although we chose to use the kiosk they did offer assistance with ordering. Both ensured we were good during our visit. So aside from the customer service the food was also great. The fish and rice I ordered was just as delicious as any other time. Love CFG we shall be back soon!!!

A solid experience overall, with a few minor misses. It's also located in a very busy shopping area…read morewhere parking can be a bit scarce, so plan accordingly--this is the kind of place many people end up at when hunger strikes while out and about, so expectations may naturally be a bit lower. I ordered the tilapia, which was quite tasty and came with two sides. The kaleslaw was a good concept but didn't taste as fresh as I'd hoped, and the tomatoes with feta--despite being two of my favorite ingredients--were also underwhelming in flavor. After all, this is a fast food restaurant, so adjust your expectations. One letdown was the shrimp premium add-on for the chowder. It turned out to be just a single, tiny piece of shrimp. I double-checked with staff, and that's standard, but it didn't feel worth paying extra. I also asked for extra lemon but received pre-bagged wedges that were soggy and shriveled and looked like they'd already been squeezed (but they hadn't been). On the plus side, the staff was attentive, I liked the self-service ordering kiosks and I appreciated the healthier menu options. Overall, a good spot with some strong items--but I'm not sure if I'll be back.
