I ordered the Biggy Junior Grill Platter - Half, to try out a few things. Comes with 1/2 lb each of seasoned bbq beef skewers (mishkaki), bbq chicken skewers (mishkaki), and bbq beef short ribs on a large bed of fries. It comes with a tamarind sauce (amli). If you like spicy, make sure to ask for a special hot sauce that they make in house. My favourite item was the short ribs. Thinly sliced, Korean-style with the bones in, it was so savoury. The beef and chicken skewers were good too but a bit over cooked. There is a bit of natural spice to it as well so beware for children. According to my spouse and kids, the fries were excellent (I'm not much of a fry person and would have preferred rice to sop up the yummy juices). If there was a 3.5 star rating that's what I would have put. I would definitely come back for those short ribs and I would consider trying other items like the chicken poussin.

We ordered the Masala ribs platter with masala fries. Had just the right amount of flavoring without being over marinated and it was cooked just right without being overdone and chewy. The fries were seasoned well and not underwhelming like some places. Highly recommend.

This place is slightly hard to find. It's located in a dogey plaza in the east end of Markham. I…read moreonly found out of this place through a friend because she brought in some really tasty meats for our last BBQ. I don't think I would have ever stepped into this place otherwise. Once you enter in, someone greets you and asks you what you want. Everything is pre-bagged so you just tick off which meats you want and they pull it out of the tray or fridge for you. I ordered a bag of kalbi ribs, two bags of chicken thighs in different flavours. I don't find the kalbi really tasty for some reason. Maybe the marinade is too light but I wasn't a fan of the texture of the meat either. The chicken thighs on the other hand kicked it out of the ball park. The curry one is soooo juicy and delicious and I love the flavours. Prices are pretty good too. I can't remember exactly how much it was but I think the 3 bags were under $30 and they were more than enough to feed a family of 6.

Everything is marinated beforehand so this would be great if you planned a last minute bbq. I would get everything but the squid again. The squid didn't have any unique flavour to it and was quite bland in my opinion. If you get it I would recommend adding some sauce prior to putting it on the grill. As a side note, the shop's location has changed, which is shown on a notice at the door. They are located at another unit, called Ah Fong, in the same plaza. The plaza itself is super run down but don't judge a book by its cover - the meat here is amazing!

The service was okay after that, not as attentive as they could've been and we had to ask for things a couple times but I understand as they were very packed. Everyone was still very kind regardless. We had the pork belly and boneless short ribs and they were good, nothing too special about it. Personally I think it was more on the expensive end for what it was. They were served with many sides and the cheesy corn was our personal favourite. Their other sides were also alright but again nothing too special. It was a very packed day so it was quite loud in the restaurant and we were almost yelling at each other from across the table, so if anyones looking for a more intimate spot, I'd go elsewhere. But again this is not their fault and is to be expected in larger popular places. It is a drinking spot too so that was the vibe they had with lots of chatter and fun bring had. Overall a decent spot for kbbq and I'd say go here more for the atmosphere more than just the food!

We ordered Pork Belly and Beef Rib Eye Roll, and that was enough for us since each serving of meat is 185g / 6.5oz. The beef eye roll was so tender and juicy. The table BBQ comes with egg, corn cheese, lettuce, 5 side dishes, and soybean stew (we found it too salty). Staff come around frequently if you have any requests/questions. Did you know that Daldongnae has a birthday promotion? (I got a t-shirt.)

Right....??? Is it the vibe? Maybe... Their signages tends to emphasize the restaurant being a fun hangout place for all (adults). And some of the menu items have names that's got salty, jealous ex-gf vibe written all over it. It's a bit cute if you understand Chinese. I don't know who Miss Qu is, but she's probably some Chinese version of Olivia Rodrigo. However, I'm not so sure the staff wearing funny hats with a silly plush animal on top of their heads actually fit the vibe. So even if you dig the vibe, the food has to be good, right? I personally do not find their skewers particularly good. First off the squid skewer lacked char. It was the first thing that came out, shortly after I ordered the food, so meaning they probably blanched it, rub the spice on it and then put it over the grill ever so briefly. I also ordered beef skewers and pork diaphragm skewers. After the heavy marination and spice, you could barely tell which meat is which. The beef was alright, but there's just a lot of fat in some of the skewers. The beef skewer actually had a string of fat that was almost half a finger long. I certainly don't mind fat on barbecue meat, but evenly distributed fat would be nice. I ended up throwing out the fatty pieces. The pork diaphragm, super salty. I'll just leave it at that. As with most southwestern Chinese skewers, all items are just marinated with the same spices, so most items would end up tasting around the same. I got to admit, this is not my preferred category of Chinese food, but I don't mind having this kind of barbecue skewers occasionally. If it were up to me, I'd pick a place that go a bit lighter on the spice, where you can actually taste the original flavours of the ingredients. Miss Qu, I've taken some time to think about the brief time we had together and I don't feel like this is going to work out. The sodium charged meat and artery clogging fat aren't healthy for either of us, and I need to step away from this restaurant. I wish you the best moving forward, but I won't be continuing to come back.
