The dishes really do captivate your tastebuds. I am personally not a fan of eggplant so I wouldn't order the cavatelli. Came here for lunch with colleagues. It has a structure/ layout of a home converting into a restaurant. A little upscale and fancy ambiance. Professional and courteous service was provided throughout the meal... Both still (not tap) and sparkling water was served, and even the bottles were sealed! Our group ordered a polenta stick and fried calamari as an appetizer to share. The calamari was fried with minimal flour so you will not feel super heavy, yet it still has a crunch to every bite. The polenta stick was new to me as I have never had polenta before, yet I won't turn down the offer. It was crispy on the outside, and soft inside, adding the marinara sauce gave more flavor to the blend polenta. Both appetizers would have tasted better if a little salt or more flavour was added. I have ordered the "tonnarelli zucca e porcini", aka mushroom pasta with butternut squash puree topped with burrata cheese. The pasta was made in-house and cooked to al dente, it has that doughy and chewy texture hence you could tell it's not the supermarket ones. Somewhat fancy ambience. But not a restaurant where you're required to dress up for. Very professional and courteous service. The servers are always checking the table if all is well and checking if your drinking glasses are full. The appetizers (aka the antipasti on their menu) are lovely. One has got to try their Calamari Fritti because the serving is plentiful with a lovely crunch to the batter used. My main which was the $35.00 Pollo seemed very 'piccolo' but was somewhat satisfying to the tastebuds. When we arrived there at around 11:30 AM, parking was plentiful. When we left at 1:30 PM, the parking was full to the point where vehicles were parked illegally. We almost had issues leaving the premises. That is the drawback. Our Savour York Region 3 course lunch for $20 makes it worth our while to drive all the way to enjoy a delicious lunch with great food. We tried: Appetizers: Mussels in a Marinara Sauce - seafood always taste best in a simple sauce.. but this one needs some seasoning and a little more depth for sure Mixed Green - Simple balsamic vinaigrette dressing, though some of the greens were not too fresh.. Main: Linguine with Tiger Shrimp - This is the spiciest pasta I ever had in my life in an Italian restaurant - I can feel my lips all pumped up and my stomach burning after I finished - Tiger shrimps on the smallish side but are fresh and nicely cooked Vietllo Villaggio Veal Scallopini - Veal is a little dry but love the cream wine mushroom sauce... - Veggie on the side make this a more balanced meal Dessert: Lemon Tart - Buttery crust is so delicious - The lemon custard filling is finished off with a layer of hard caramel - I like how there is a mix of texture and taste in this dessert B52 Cheesecake - According to the menu, this is a New York Style Cheesecake but this is the most fluffy and light NY cheesecake I ever had - Sadly, I can barely taste the Kahlua, Baileys or Triple Sec though.. 1st time visit to this place and was disappointed with most of the experience. As soon as we walked, the noise level was overwhelming. There was an entertainer playing piano and singing at the doorway which made it difficult to hear the hostess's greeting. We had reservations and were seated directly beside a very loud party of 15. My husband and I needed to raise out voices in order to hear eachother talk. Appetizer: antipasto for 2. -tasty, good size, a little skimpy on the cheese Mains: grilled halibut -done perfectly, vegetables weren't what we were told they would b but a good dish Braised short ribs: was one of the daily specials. My pizza was literally, a large flatbread. Not a meal. Just flavoured crust. The polpette appetizer was barely one, with 4 of the smallest meatballs I've ever seen. I went here for dinner last night with three friends for one of our birthdays. My friend told the server that she is celiac and also is allergic to butter. She ordered the salmon, and told the server if the mashed potato's can't be made without butter to just remove them from the dish. She also established with the waiter if the salmon could be cooked without butter, and he confirmed this. She was then served the salmon with the mashed potato's. When the server returned, she asked if they had butter to double check. He then confirmed that they had butter and apologized. A few minutes later he came back and said that the salmon was cooked in butter as well. He apologized profusely but she had already consumed half the salmon. We were disappointed that they didn't attempt to rectify the error with compensation. The purpose of this review is to encourage the restaurant to be mindful of their customer's allergies and dietary restrictions. read more

April 29th we celebrated our granddaughter's first communion. Everything from the ambiance, the food and the service was exemplary.

I became familiar with this restaurant when it was located in a plaza at Weston Rd/Rutherford area. It was one of the better restaurants in the neighbourhood and we were sad to drive by one day and the restaurant closed. Thankfully, it did not go out of business and just relocated to it's new location in Kleinburg...Highway 27/Nashville Rd in a yet another pretty non descriptive plaza. The move must have been smart on the owners part, as the new location appears to be much busier than when it was located in Woodbridge. Thankfully, the food is still the same. The "new" reincarnated restaurant is gorgeous...certainly relaxing to the senses. Atmosphere is along the lines of Canyon Creek/Keg...strong woods, low lighting, etc. Surprising, considering the building it is in would never suggest a place such as this is contained inside. Staff are friendly and knowledgable....last time the waiter made suggestions which were bang on. We've run the gambit of pastas and steaks ...never been disappointed. On our last visit the noise level was higher than normal as the place was jumping, partly due to the fact that the restaurant was participating in Savour Vaughan and was booked solid. If they ever participate again, book a reservation immediately and try this restaurant, it won't disappoint. A bit on the more upscale side as far as pricing goes...but a wonderful place to dine out when romance is in the air. read more

We just went to Villaggio for Savour York Region special and were very pleased with that place. The atmosphere was really nice, perfect for a date or just fine dining with friends. They have very nice views from the windows. Food was really good, like real Italian home made food. The service was great as well. The best tiramisu I ever had. I took my boyfriend here to treat him to a birthday lunch last week. We sat on the sunny flower filled patio. He ordered the house made gnocchi, I ordered the Sicilian pizza, we had the fried calamari to start. The calamari was extremely fresh and done to perfection, the gnocchi slightly over done but still had great flavor, and my pizza...i'm craving more!! Although it was a bit of a drive for us coming from the downtown core we found it well worth the drive to the picturesque town of Kleinburg for good food, good atmosphere, great eats and a little afternoon escape. Our server was great, I noticed the server for the other tables were on the ball as well. Overall, great experience, and we would love to come back ...perhaps to try the veal scallopini or the tiger shrimp pasta for a nice romantic dinner in the near future. read more

Wow! This place is a romantic spot and has amazing food and service! Their pastas are homemade noodles, amazing sauces and wine list is great and reasonable. Pleasant atmosphere and great service is what earns this place three stars. The food however is not that great. Risotto is too salty, salmon with the carrot purée is very bland and not worth the price. Pizza came out soggy and cold with also no flavour. Excellent boutique Italian upscale restaurant with an amazing relaxing, romantic vibe. The food was very delicious! Everything was freshly cooked and nothing was pre cooked from the sauce to the entire dish. As Vegetarians we will definitely come back. Service was ok, when you take an empty glass you should offer another which was not the case until I asked. We ordered salad which was very good to start off along with a couple of glasses of wine. My wife ordered chicken and she said it was ok and I went with Angus Steak. Steak was very bland, came in two small pieces and it was covered in fat. Potatoes and veggies were ok. Service went downhill after this and we simply told them they forgot our drinks and we just wanted the bill. Had a great meal and experience here. Waiters/waitresses were attentive, professional and friendly. Had drinks and full meal. Everyone was extremely satisfied with their order. Menu is Italian fare with a handful of daily specials. We were pleasantly surprised by their collard green soup (soup of the day) that was extremely flavourful and well balanced. We shared an antipasto, soup and salad and had our own main meals. Prices were reasonable for the quality of plates. I would recommend for a great dinner dining experience. read more

My rabbit gnocchi came with an eyelash in it. The situation got ignored by management, when I finally asked for a manager to pass by our table at the time of paying our bill, he claimed that it is natural for rabbit fur to end up in the meat. My girlfriend and I had booked a reservation as a friend had referred us and mentioned nothing but good things. We had an 8:30 reservation for Saturday evening and we were running late, as soon as we arrived to this beautiful restaurant we were greeted with smiles from the entire staff. The restaurant felt modern and classy and we felt very welcomed right away and then we met our server Paul who did an amazing job through out the entire evening! I mean this guy blew us away he knew the menu(s) and we went with his recommendations for our main dishes. We don't usually do that but he knew his stuff! For starters we had the Arancini which was amazing and a perfectly cooked Calamari Fritti with lots of lemon! Our mains were the Pappardelle Bolognese for her and I had the Spaghetti al Granchio which was off the "special menu" they had in addition to their regular menu that evening. We split a slice of their delicious B52 cheesecake and I had an espresso for desert. The words I use for these dishes do not do them justice, the flavours were amazing and the ingredients were fresh. We forgot to mention my complements to the chef before we left! The entire experience was so amazing I had to write a review and I don't usually write reviews! I had previously heard good things about Villaggio and at the last minute after work we decided to see if we could get in on a Friday night. We have been looking for a place to have our staff Christmas party for about 25 and thought this would be it so we did a little pregame research. Rather than drop by I called just after 5pm however the phones just rang and rang and went into voice mail. So I called for the 4th time, this time from my car and finally someone answered. We were told yes they could accommodate us so off we went. Upon arrival the restaurant looked great. Lots of dark wood, a private dining area to the left and a nice bar. We were greeted and immediately brought to our table which was in the open. We asked for something more private however they said everything was reserved. It was only 6PM and about one third full. We ordered a bottle of wine and settled in. Next we shared a deep fried calamari appetizer and it was fine. No cocktail sauce just 2 lemon slices. For entrees I ordered the medallions of fillet mignon (med. rare) on a bed of potatoes in a mushroom brandy sauce. My guest ordered Ravioli verdi al Cognac spinach ravioli filled with ricotta cheese in a cognac cream sauce. Sounds great doesn't it? The filet was a generous portion however it was probably closer to a low grade blob of sirloin. It was difficult to cut through and was very very chewy. The brandy sauce had zero flavor except for the over powering pepper. The potatoes were wedges that were completely dried out and so hard I could barely cut through them with a steak knife. My guest's pasta was cooked al dente just right however the cognac cream sauce was tasteless. It was production line food at best. After dinner we ordered cappuccinos and shared a desert. By now the restaurant was starting to get pretty busy and we thought it was time to depart. At this point our server had not been back to see us since the entrees were served. Never asked if we liked them. The desert and coffee were served from another helper. We did see our server brush by once in a while however he had his blinders on. I motioned to get the bill about 4 times however he pretended not to see me. I put my credit card on the edge of the table where it could be easily spotted. 20 minutes went by since we finished our coffee and desert. At one point I held my credit card up in the air when he walked by - ignored again. I was starting to get a little irked and was going to walk up to the bar and see if I could settle the bill. Just when a young lady came by and accommodated us. I told her the male server abandoned his customer. He seemed to think his time was better invested laughing and chatting with 3 young guys at a back table instead of returning to his customers. For me this is a huge FAIL! - I don't know why servers do this ignore routine at the end. It can wreck a good night. Won't go back and no Christmas party booking for them. read more

If you want to be ignored and ridiculed go here. My wife and I drove in from Orville to meet our friends who live nearby. They had invited us to dinner and spoke fondly of the restaurant and food. The venue is beautiful and easy to get there. It was Friday night at 6 pm. Place was busy and were immediately seated. We had a cocktail and waited for our friends. We reviewed the menu and plenty to choose from. Prices were reasonable. Friends arrived and we order. Our waiter was not friendly at all. We had to ask repeatedly for water and had to ask twice for our extra sauce which we had asked for when we ordered. Food was good, place was packed and I noticed people were waiting a long time to be served. We waited an hour after coffee to be served by waiter. No waiter, so we flagged another female waiter. We ask for the bill. She returns with the bill and ask where our waiter is. She replies, oh he went home. We decide to split the bill and agree no tip will be given. Manager arrives, we pay the bill which was over $200 and he asks why no tip. We tell him we haven't seen our waiter for an hour and were waiting. No one came to ask us how our food was, had to ask repeatedly for water and our extra sauce. Manager then continues berating us about no tip. Yet he says he let the waiter go home, and I said that was his choice and our service suffered, so no tip. He says well we gave you window seat, extra sauce and you liked food, so it warrants a tip. We said no. As we are leaving my friend asks for business card so he can complain to owner. Manager says he is part owner. We say great we will talk to your partner. Manager says when you call, you will deal with me as I am owner. If you want to spend your money and be treated poorly then this is your place. read more

I went with a party of 4. The restaurant had great atmosphere, however it was empty except one table of 10. Instead of seating us in a quiet corner we were seated right beside the party of 10. Not one to complain we let this go. The waiter then came to take our drink orders. When I asked what beers were on tap his manor changed from friendly to arrogant. Instead of suggest ing one of the bottled bears the waiter stood there smugly. I than had to prompt him for what beers they had bottled. While ordering our meals the waiter corrected us constantly. My wife asked for capers on the side of her dish. The waiter then lectured her on how the chef wouldn't like it and you would never add cappers to such a dish. Although he may have been correct. This is no way to talk to customers. The condescending manor in which he continued to address the table soured our evening. The meals were well prepared but nothing notable. They appeared to have a decent menu with several dishes that looked interesting. However due to our experience we will not be back. read more

THE WORST SERVICE EVER! Don't waste your money! The food although good is very pricey for what you get! I ordered a salad and asked the very rude and arrogant waiter if I could get the salad with a grilled price of Chicken due to a restricted diet and he responded by saying "we don't do that" I guess it's beneath them to accommodate a paying customer. I finally ordered the steak and asked if I could get it well done in which he responded " well, we won't go out of our way to burn it" rolled his eyes and walked away. My steak came rare so I told the waiter who again rolled his eyes and took it back and brought back another steak that was half the original size! Never offered to compensate me with a dessert or a coffee like most restaurants would have done, I guess if I were driving a Porsche or Audi I would have received better service! We bought a coupon and went there for a date night without kids. It was surprisingly a nice restaurant with a nice crowd of people - more mature crowd. The staff were all male and nice. It is a bit pricey for the portion, but I guess the class of the restaurant tells you why...? The cheese in the salad was super delicious. I ordered lamb. It was good and I wanted some more (only 4 pieces on the plate;). What was impressive was their desserts. All home made! Mmmm...I could go back only for a dessert:). read more
