Killer whales are one of my favourite animals, so seeing them out in the wild was honestly surreal. There is something completely different about seeing these magnificent animals in their natural environment rather than in captivity. We were lucky enough to see a mama and baby, which made the experience even more special. Knowing that these whales are individually identified, numbered and researched by scientists makes seeing them even more fascinating. I could honestly spend all day out on the water watching them. The boat ride itself is also part of the fun. You're out in the middle of the Salish Sea and it is just so peaceful waiting to see what comes up. They take photos during the tour and send them afterward is a great bonus! The price could be a bit less but it's still an experience I'd recommend.

FYI ... there is A LOT of rocking motion on this adventure. The cruise itself was fine and it was fun to look at all the houses and islands and ships along the way. We did see some sea lions and a bald eagle from a distance. I would recommend it.

Not a single bad seat without a view on the boat! We saw several humpbacks, their tales during some deep dives, a BREACH!!, sea lions, and a massive pod of ORCAS! We saw at least 6 orcas, including a baby that was a few days old, according to our guides. The baby was still orange/pink in color, and the pod was actively hunting. We saw them thrash around, jump completely out of the water several times, and even jump up and expose their entire belly! Our guides were knowledgeable, friendly, funny, and overall we had an amazing time. Definitely the highlight of our trip! 11/10!!!

We are both very inexperienced and he took the time to explain everything to us and taught us every step along the way. He knew exactly where to go to get the most action and we caught a TON of sturgeon! By the end of the day we were hooking and landing our own rods (we started with him hooking them for us) but it was quite the learning experience and what a workout. Couldn't have asked for a better day on the water, listening to tunes, while learning and perfecting my fishing skills. I won't use anyone else for a guided tour, I have tried others in the past but this was by far the best experience. Other tours I noticed the guides weren't very friendly or knowledgeable about where to go to get the most luck and worst of all they were watching the clock and wanting to get off the water exactly when our time was up. Troy wasn't like this at all, he took the time and made sure we were satisfied before heading in. Very personable and really did put the needs of me and my girlfriend first. 10/10 recommend, you definitely won't be disappointed.

We took the large zodiac tour during the month of September. The large zodiac was nice because it had closed glass sides and top. We were shielded from water spray, but could open the windows and had a good view. The weather was perfect the day we went, but beware sometimes it gets rescheduled due to weather. Other people on our boat were talking about how their trip the day before was canceled due to wind so be conscious of this when scheduling. Our nature guides name was James, our captain was James, and our boat assistant was Brendan. The boat ride was smooth, the guide was very knowledgeable, and we were successful in finding whales! We saw 4 killer whales and 4 humpback whales, along with lots of sea lions and a seal. The views were beautiful. The packed lunch that you can add on was mediocre, but it was nice having something to eat on the boat because we were out on the water for 5 hours. There is a bathroom on the boat, but it can be hard to use because of the waves. Overall, it was a great experience that I would definitely do again!

Guaranteed thrills on this zodiac boat tour! Wow..talk about an adrenline rush! This was basically a high speed thrill ride in a jet boat with amazing scenery. Life is always better on a boat! I was literally just having the time of my life!! 3 hours of pure adrenline and jaw-dropping views....speeding across those waves felt like a roller coaster on the water! Zooming down the ocean, wind in your hair, sun on your face...you'll have the time of your life!!! The adrenaline rush was unreal, and the views from the water were stunning. Still buzzing from the speed, and sprays. And let's be honest, seeing Van from the water is absolutely epic. You rediscover the city from a completely different perspective. The experience is a total thrill -- high speeds with the sun and wind in your face, plus those mini splashes of water that make it feel even more epic. Vancouver's coastline is stunning, but seeing it at high speed is a whole different experience. We felt safe but totally exhilarated. It's not just a boat ride - it's 3 hours of thrills with incredible views at every turn! The boat then stopped at Bowen Island and the tour includes ice cream on the island. I can't think of a more exciting way to experience Vancouver's scenery! We got to feel the rush of speed, soak up the splash, and experience Vancouver from a whole new perspective. I wish I could say I enjoyed it. Starting off, we got there…read moreat 730am ready to board. We didn't board until after 8am because others were late. The captain was nice and a few others were helpful, but unfortunately the overall experience was not very pleasant. Almost everyone else on the boat seemed to know each other and 95% of the time spoke Mandarin to each other. I am not a Mandarin speaker so it really felt like we were being left out a lot. Only managed to get some sort of information or communication because my friend can vaguely translate what they say. As someone paying around $300/person, I expected to learn a lot and have more guidance. The moment we got on the boat one of the other guests lit up a cigarette. Let's just say throughout the entire day, someone was toting a lit cigarette. They probably smoked close to 3 packs while on board. No one from my group smokes, so we were pretty irradiated to say the least. We learned very little and had little guidance. They were helpful when we needed help, but for the most part it felt like they were having a blast and we were the party crashers. I do like that they followed the rules of fishing and what fish they have to release, what can be caught and what needed to be returned. However, they threw their cigarette butts into the ocean which I felt was unacceptable. Since I'm a beginner, I tried to copy what the others did on the boat in terms of releasing the line, but then told we shouldn't do that. I pretty much kept to myself and kept quiet because of the language barrier and honestly wasn't there to criticize people, I was there to learn and have fun . The 3 stars go to the captain and 1 or 2 of his friends. I really appreciate them giving us their catches and some crabs because I wasn't able to catch anything worth keeping and really they were kind and would answer questions if we had them, but I'm really shy, especially when it comes to new things. However, the last 30 mins would be the highlight, the other 8 hrs I felt like the kid that wasn't invited to the party but people were obligated to be nice to. I hope they learn from this review and are able to give other people a better experience than the one I got today.

He's a funny guy who chatted with us while we were out as well as being attentive to what the group wanted to do and made sure we all had a lot of fun! We caught a lot of fish and he even cuts, guts, cleans, and bags them up for you so that your catches are ready to just cook and eat! 5/5 would do again. I booked a charter for winter fishing on November 23, 2017 and had an awesome time with Kevin!…read more Kevin successfully guided my two boys (8 and 10-years old) and I to 3 delicious chinook salmon, 10 dozen spot prawns and over a dozen crabs in about 7.5 hours on the water. Kevin is dialed into where the fish, prawns, and crab are located and provided key knowledge on where to set traps, how to get bit and the proper way to fight and land the fish. My boys and I have spent countless hours on the water bass fishing so we know how this fishing game is played. We went knowing that there is always a good chance that you may not catch anything. Ive learned after this experience, that Kevin has the knowledge to increase your chances of success. From the beginning of our trip, Kevin was confident that we were going to catch fish. Even after a slow start, Kevin stated that we were going to catch fish and we would stay as long as it takes to do so. We ultimately caught 3 nice salmon and the shrimp and crab pots were full! Kevin was great with kids and got them involved in setting and picking up our filled traps. He cleaned and filleted our fish, cleaned the crab and shrimp which made an awesome Thanksgiving feast. I highly recommend Kevin as a salmon fishing guide and thank him for a trip that my sons and I will never forget.
