Our recent experience has reminded me that going local is the way to go…read more We needed a new dishwasher recently and decided to purchase through one of the two chain garden/home improvement stores. The service was "meh" but we persevered. After waiting for two weeks for any movement on the company, we decided to go down the street to Tim's and see what options they had for dishwashers. While the selections were few, they had one dishwasher that had what we wanted (of COURSE we want the third rack...doesn't everyone?)...and though it was more expensive than we originally planned on spending (at the box store), it was ready for purchase and installation. We paid for it and waited for a phone call to have it installed...and what do you know? We were called within two days and the actual dishwasher was installed within three days of the call! The person who installed the dishwasher was professional, respectful, and determined to install the product completely and correctly! We are still waiting to hear from the box store for next steps on purchasing a cheaper dishwasher...it's now been a month since we started the process with them. I kind of hope they do call so that I can rave about Tim's and their speedy service. Oh, and that we ended up purchasing a more expensive product. Go local, my yelping friends!

My washer broke and I took the back panel apart and saw the control board needed replaced. I went…read moreto Tim's Appliance to get a new one and they made sure I got the right one for my machine. I was able to install it myself and the washer mostly worked but there was something wrong with the programming that it kept auto shutting off after a minute or two. Tim's Appliance repair techs were way booked out so I called Umpqua Appliance and they were able to send out a tech much quicker, which cost me $150. But he never looked at the control panel or literally any bit of the internal machine. I showed him how I tried configuring the control panel from the washer's front interface and all he worked on was that interface, literally trying the same configuration and a few other programming codes but nothing worked. I'd hoped he'd have some special tool to help figure it out or at least try to look inside the machine, of which I'd already taken apart the back panel, but all he did was google on his phone to diagnose it, which I'd already done myself. All he could tell me was that he thought the new control panel I'd installed was defective. I'm not an electrical engineer so idk if it was or wasn't but the fact that I'd run for a minute or two makes me think it wasn't and that it was something wrong with the door latch locking mechanism or something like that. Again, I needed a technician to actually look at the machine to diagnose that. Instead all I got from Umpqua Appliance was a $150 bill and no useful advice. I've never been to the Umpqua Appliance store front in Winston and so I can't give any review for the store front, but if you need an appliance service repair technician, then go somewhere else.
