Decent restaurant that was right next to the Clarion Motel...this was the only saving grace to the awful motel we stayed. Good size menu, lots of options. I got the fish and chips, husband got the meatball pizza and my daughter got the pepperoni pizza. They accidentally made a third pizza for us, which they didn't charge us. Service was a little spotty at first. We had a new server, then she got overwhelmed by a really large party that came in after us. After awhile, we did get a new server. Right under my nose up here and amazing. Had to get out of house for a few minutes and decided to try fishing rock and I'm glad i did! This place is brand new looking inside and out and has comfortable diner style booths and tables as well as a bar area. We were here for breakfast and it's an interesting menu! Lots of seafood options and in my life it's not so common to have seafood for breakfast, so of course I'm gonna try it. I had the fisherman's skillet which comes with cod and scallops and shrimp over potatoes and hollandaise sauce and a couple over easy eggs. This was a bit different for me but it absolutely works amazing together. The ingredients are all fresh and rich in flavor. Salt proportions for me were balanced and the heat for the meal was right off the burner so I'm happy with that. I'm very pleased with this place for breakfast and will most definitely give it a lunch attempt at some point. Very good and very nice seafood themed menu that complements going into adventure. I love a key that tempts you to try something new and this menu does it for me! There's directions you can go like sweet savory carb protein fish meat etc and in each direction I'm seeing something that looks fun to try or downright delicious. Service was friendly and efficient. Then we enjoyed the special, Chicken Marsala, and the Prime Rib Dip Sandwich. For dessert, we indulged in the house made bread pudding. Everything was delicious! Service was fantastic. Power out from LC to Depoe Bay but all good at Fishing Rock! Storm survivors came in all night and we bonded over a football game and the place stayed open late for us to enjoy overtime! That kind of attention and care will help build customers back under new ownership! I enjoyed Blackened Salmon special. They filleted it today and it was fresh and flaky and seasoned right. We came here since it was located close to our timeshare. It was not busy at all. We ordered the calamari, garlic cheese bread, chowder and pepperoni pizza. The food was fair. We were hoping the pizza was going to be better since it's a wood fire stove pizza but it just didn't have the crunch. The service was great, the waiter was very kind. First of all, this place is not "permanently closed". We just had dinner there tonight! On the advice of bringfido.com, as I'm traveling with two small dogs. I guess it has been reopened and we're on day 6. The service was great! Of course there was not much for traffic since Yelp says it's closed. it's on the 101 so location is great. The interior has been noticeably revamped. New furniture, paint, beachy pics on the walls. The bar is not yet open, and there are plans for music too. Dinner was more than satisfactory. We had the seafood chowder, very filling, with lots of seafood, and split a fish and chips. The fish was lightly breaded and flaky. The chips were actually more like shaved potatoes, skin on, bigger than a chip but not a home fry. All in all a good meal. Good luck to the new management. Maybe I'll stop in later. read more

We had a fantastic dinner here with my brother-in-law and his sweetheart. Top service doesn't do justice to how accommodating, friendly, and helpful the staff was. It was as if we were family, only better. The fish and chips were great. The fish was very fresh and the fries were delicious. The prawns in a special sauce were also good. I came in with a group of 5 women on a Monday night! We all got drinks and they were excellent. The service was excellent and the food was just ok. Two ladies got the steamer clams and they were over cooked but ok. One lady got the fish and chips and she said they were "fabulous!" Another got the Meatball Boat and she said they were really good. I myself got a side Caesar salad and it was way over dressed and the Steak Bites wouldn't have been bad if they weren't covered in Hoisin Sauce. We waited for this " fabulous" cheesy garlic bread that the waiter raved about. It was served way after we got our meal and we were all very disappointed in it. I'm giving it a 3 star because I think they're new and trying to still get the bugs out. The decor is a little off putting because it felt more and looked like a sandwich shop! We were staying close by and decided to give this place a try after passing it for many many years and multiple different establishments. Super busy Saturday night which is always a good sign. We didn't realize it was live music night so we were cool with that and got last table up close. We love live music but in this small restaurant it was soooooo loud my ears were ringing. I mean it's loud. We probably should have moved but they only did 4 more songs and they sounded really good. On to food. Started with calamari and it was really good. An extra 30 seconds in fryer would have been even better as it was a little too soft and they don't give you a whole lot. But it tasted super fresh which was worth it. I got the grilled coho salmon with lemon sauce and it was pretty tasty. The thicker section was definitely better because it was cooked very well done and pretty dry. Rice came out a little cold and underdone with a pile of sliced green onions on it. Decent. The veggies were very good and well seasoned but came with mined onion in them. Never seen that. Still hungry after my meal so I got a personal meatball pizza just to try it. Now pizza is where it's at. That pizza was better than my salmon dinner. We always rate a place if we'd come back. We'd definitely come back because it was friendly service and a nice clean bar and definitely for the pizza and probably nothing else. read more

The food is really good, and the service is great. I am surprised at how fair the prices are given the quality of the food and the "coast tax" you pay for good food out here. The chef is apparently italian trained, and the pasta sauces are all scratch-made. The amount of seafood was generous for the price, and I found myself finishing the pasta well before the chunks of deliciousness (seafood) were gone. If I had any gripe (and it's not really a big one) it's that the sauce was more viscous than I like in an alfredo. read more

Tried Fishing rock for dinner a couple days ago. We were very impressed by the meal offerings on the menu. We were also treated great by our server. She was very busy but did her best to make our stay enjoyable. She did a good job. Thank you. We really enjoyed the 70's and 80's music playing in the background and the general vibe of the place. We want to come back on a Friday or Saturday night to see the live music. For our meal we shared a house salad with crab, a bowl of chili, loaded fries and bourbon pineapple shrimp which were all delicious. A little hint, save some of the chili to put over the loaded fries. It was great. We will definitely be back to try more menu items. read more

It appears they have a different chef and staff members. Recently we had three separate dinner dates and the service was slow and the food was not as good as in the recent past.
