    Fireplace and Christmas decor

It was perfect for US. We walk in and there is a warm rustic stone lodge cabin feel to the place. Very open with high ceilings, a central fireplace and a raised stage floor for a band. The ambiance, food and service experience was 5 star for us. Seating was varied with tables and stools, small dining table with chairs, settee tables with upholstered chairs. It was like being in a casual lodge environment. Minors are allowed until 8pm. Service was prompt and courteous and the lounge menu had a small but nice collection of comfort foods. A full bar is also available. I opted for the loaded fries which was a generous helping of steak fries covered with a quality melted cheddar, not greasy cheese sauce. There were also large chunks of crisp meaty bacon and it came with three sauces for dipping. We also got the coconut prawns which were huge and very flavorful and crispy on a bed of cabbage. This came with a sweet chili dipping sauce. This is a very clean, comfortable environment with soft lighting and spacious windows.

But as we were waiting our turn, the lady working the counter started chit chatting with a couple that were in front of us! Which I'm a talker too, so that didn't bother me until it turned political and about the workers friend that has a different sexual orientation and then the customer starts talking about her gay & trans kids. Which I don't have a problem with people that are gay or trans! But they just kept going on& on and we were just standing there waiting , but then the worker said how stupid the farmers are around there ! Now that totally turned us off. Does she realize that is who grows & raises the food she uses in her cart!! So my husband and I went down to the twirly chicken and it was delicious!!

August 25, 2025 - Silverton, OR…read more We had such an enjoyable meal here on a quiet Monday afternoon. Our table was right next to a huge picture window overlooking the Oregon Garden and the valley beyond--absolutely beautiful. They also have dog-friendly outdoor patio seating, which I always appreciate. Since our pup was not with us, we opted for the comfort of indoor seating on this hot, humid day. Service was warm and prompt from the moment we arrived. We're usually meal-sharers, but after a day of hiking, we each ordered our own. I chose the pesto orzo chicken salad, while my husband went for the pasta in lemon caper cream sauce with grilled chicken. To pair with our meal, we shared a bottle of Saviah Cellars The Jack Chardonnay ($39), which was crisp and delicious. My salad was excellent, fresh and flavorful, but the star of the table was definitely the pasta. It was so good that I kept sneaking bites from my husband's plate.

Garden View Restaurant, Silverton, OR - August 25, 2025…read more We came in on a Monday afternoon after an enjoyable hike at Silver Falls State Park. We had worked up a hunger. We left the pup back in the air conditioned motorhome, but they do have outdoor seating if you want to bring your dog. They weren't very busy at all. We were seated indoors and our waiter showed up right away. We were given menus and water and given a few minutes to decide what we wanted to drink. The indoor restaurant area has an upper and lower level. There is a large window looking out from the dining room towards the Oregon Gardens. The dining area has a couple different themes. One is lots of pictures of old-fashioned wooden covered bridges. Another theme is a collection of antique China that is displayed along a shelf near the ceiling. Finally, there are a few pictures of Italian gardens. I also liked the small decorative metal-encased glass lights hanging from the ceiling above the tables. After looking at the menu, my wife decided to get a glass of the Saviah Cellars "The Jack" Chardonnay and I ordered an old-fashioned with makers mark bourbon. Both drinks were outstanding. I decided to order the lemon caper cream sauce pasta with grilled chicken and my wife ordered the pesto orzo chicken salad. Both meals were delicious, especially my cream sauce chicken pasta. Our server was great. He even convinced us to buy a bottle of the Chardonnay that was very good and reasonably priced at $39 a bottle.

They have some seriously delicious sandwiches, and I've tried a variety of them, but my go-to is always the Reuben. It never disappoints! Vibes were good, bartender/server was friendly. Reviews made it seem divey but lights weren't turned down low enough for to meet that criteria imo. A bit too cold/wet for us to eat/drink outside but sounds like that might be the place to be on a nicer nite. Menu was pretty extensive for the bar, maybe a bit pricey for what you get -- but the $2 draft beers on Thursday nites was a good deal that made up for that pretty well. I thought my turkey reuben was great; husband liked his steak wrap too (as seen in other reviews' photos comes out on a plate completely unadorned) and ate a bunch of my cajun fries. There was basketball on TV, a pool table, music. All in all a good place to start the vacation and enjoy a decent welcome to town.

The barista was nice and accommodating as well! We went during our stay in Silverton, and we all felt that the food was just ok (outside of the donuts - those were delicious!) and the coffee was perfectly adequate. The service was pretty quick - even whenever it got busy. The coffee didn't rewrite any history books and won't be added to a list of best shops in Oregon, but it's a great space to support a local shop and get a decent cup that's worth the price. Strong suggestion to order any latte half sweet - it'll be a good level for more serious coffee drinkers!

Although the woman behind the counter said she didn't make many cortados (even though they're on the menu), she said she'd give it a shot (see what she did there? ). It was tasty but had too much foam on top (cortados are equal parts espresso and steamed milk without foam), although now that I think about it, maybe it wasn't foam at all but simply the steamed milk bubbles rising to the top. Typically a cortado is served in a clear glass large shot glass but since they didn't have any of those, it was served in a small espresso cup. In any event, the drink was good and the bite-sized frosted mini doughnut was a perfect mouthful. I'd give them 5 stars if they had had a cortado cup, especially since it's actually on the menu, but overall, a charming place to stop for a pastry and a coffee. With several comfy nooks, tables for your laptop, live-edged wooden bars at the front windows, and a nice selection of pastries, I'd definitely come back here... and maybe next time they'll have cortado cups
