Man oh man. If you like to karaoke this is the old d for you. We went in on a Wednesday night and there was hardly anyone there. I sang 3 karaoke songs. The video lottery slot games are in the back and they paid out pretty well. The bartender there is pretty cool. He does a great job cooking and bartending at the same time. I got the fried rice to go. It was pretty good. I like the view from there too as you can see right down into boiler bay. Hint hint, this place probably stays open the latest in all of Depoe Bay. They serve good drinks and have a good selection of draft beers on tap. read more

The best orange chicken I've ever had! So crispy and the sauce was made right with fresh ingredients! We stop on Friday nights as we transition from Pdx to beach house. The portions are HUGE. It leaves us with plenty of food for the weekend. Friendly staff - moderate pricing - fresh hot food. The Wing Wa has become a favorite dive bar at the Depoe Bay coast. Unfortunately the downstairs closed and everything which felt more dive bar-ish went away. Still it's a casual place to have a few bites or a wide variety of drinks. Overall this seems to be a local hangout, good prices which keeps us coming back and awesome karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights. read more

Late night in Depoe Bay isn't much of a scene. It's a retirement community after all. We got in late and found this place, recommended by our hostess at the resort. It happened to be Friday night so they had Karaoke. And boy was it entertaining. A sweet little intimate crowd, it seems this is the place to be late night in Depoe Bay! We ordered Potstickers, Fish and Chips, House Chow Mein, Wor Wonton Soup, and beer on tap. It was their late night menu so not as many options. It was good, not outrageously good but great for late night in a bar! Everything was fresh and homemade. We could get the Chow Mein again. They serve it family style so you can share if you like. The prices were really good. The beer selection was great. They had a good Hefeweizen. The gin and tonic was strong. Good service! read more

I went here with my sister to order food during my birthday weekend. When we went in, it seemed like it wasn't really a Chinese restaurant, rather a bar. Ok so we ordered the food and it was over 150 dollars! Yes, I was feeding 6 people, but dang that's really high! And the food sucked! Over greasy and flavorless. Money wasted, cause none of us liked it so couldn't even finish the food. Won't be back. What a disappointment. Also, worker kinda seemed annoyed from the time we got there, to the time we left. Going to a bar first / Chinese food place second during the off season in a small town on the Oregon Coast certainly sets my expectations a bit lower than what I would expect in downtown Portland or Vancouver. Having said that, I was actually quite pleased with the food, even with a couple of oddities. We wanted something hot to help with sore throats and stuffy heads so we went with the hot and sour soup with some crunchy won ton's and chewy pot stickers to round out the flavor / texture trio. The food was good however it was not exactly as expected. The hot and sour soup was orange - I am very confident that this is the first hot and sour soup I've had that was orange. It was loaded with veggies, tofu, shrimp and chicken and the taste was pretty good. Enough heat to help with stuffy heads but not so much as to offend the genteel tastebuds of the folks I was with. The won ton's were crispy with a small piece of pork wrapped in the end - all I could ask for in fried won ton. The sweet and sour sauce however was brown - not the orange I would have expected. It was sweet and sour sauce and it had a fine flavor, it just wasn't orange/red as I'm use to. The pot stickers were spot on. No complaints here. They were crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The flavor was good. The only gripe I would have is that there was no sauce for these. Not a huge complaint but again, a variance from what I would expect. Service was pretty good - I phoned in the order to take out and it took a few minutes longer than they originally stated. The order was complete and hot so I don't have too much to complain about there. I can recommend this place to others - I would just ask that you set your expectations properly. I'm happy to report that there was no food borne illness for anyone in our party the next 2 days as someone on here reported a few months ago. read more

Matt needs to work on his customer service and how he talk to people overall. The food was subpar at best. The food came out not as advertised, under seasoned and just poor quality. I would avoid this place at all costs. Even the locals in the restaurant/bar area were rude and semi confrontational. The only reason we went to this establishment is because it was open after 9pm. Wow, what customer service! Walked in an hour before closing.. realized we were the only people in the place. We were still greeted with a smile after being turned down at a prior spot hours before "closing time" May was the best! She has been running that spot for 50 years.. encouraged us to grab dinner which was also incredible. Such a sweet hardworking human. Working in the service industry I look out for spots like this! We had the pleasure of stumbling upon Wing Wa as we arrived in Depoe at 9 pm when literally everything else was closed. The folks at Wing Wa graciously welcomed us in and promptly assisted us. We ordered the pot stickers, shrimp egg roll and Mongolian beef. All of it was delicious and definitely surpassed my expectations. We also topped it with a cocktail. The portions are big. The egg roll was massive and deliciously deep fried. Is this the most traditional of Chinese foods? No. Temper expectations accordingly. Wing Wa is a hidden gem. It might not look it from the outside, and even the inside with its tiki old fashion dance floor and karaoke machine in the corner may not impress you. However, once inside the service is nice, the drinks cold and good and the food yummy. I highly recommend if your staying in Depo Bay. The high point and must try is their BBQ pork. It is amazing because they smoke it, Trust me. One negative thing is during the winter their hours are a little funky. So might want to call. Most nights they stay open till midnight. read more

Large portions, very limited menu compared to other Chinese restaurants,, and a bit expensive. I didn't like the General​ Tso's chicken. Fried rice and chow mein were better. Service was good. Chinese cuisine that advertises late hours? That's a good one. This place is mid. It's also like they wanted to be a dive bar but forgot they're in the middle of Depoe Bay, and lack fun people. They also had a lit up Karaoke sign in the window, but turned it off when my group walked in (it was 10:15pm). The place says it's opened until 2am, but bartender said we had to be out at 11. I don't think he realizes I know MMA, but luckily I presented my discipline, otherwise buddy would've eaten a clean uppercut to the jaw. I'm so humble. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone if they're looking for a late night spot on the coast. You're better off going up to Lincoln City and risking the DUI. read more

I've been coming to the Wing Wa for so long, I can remember when it was called Tam's Golden Sampan. The only complaint I have is that everyone who sings at the Karaoke night seems to be a professional singer. Well maybe not professional, or even "musically talented," but professionals at having a good time. I'm intimidated by how much everyone here seems to enjoy the food, atmosphere, friends, and Karaoke. It's all a bit much. So if you want to have a super awesome time and sing your heart out, while also enjoying top notch Chinese cuisine at a bargain price, you might enjoy this place. That's up to you. I won't be back here. This is advertised as an Asian food restaurant, however somehow comes out worse than if prepared by my uncultured aunt in that it lacks any flavor profile resembling Asian food. The chicken fried rice is mostly bland rice, with unseasoned chicken sprinkled in for legal purposes. If this wasn't enough, the environment does reflect slight hints of Chinese decorum, if only slightly as you are quickly reminded you are at a hybrid sports/dive bar first and foremost. The bartender/waiter was kind, however makes sense why they weren't accepting online orders or answering the phone for a to-go order as he was seemingly the only employee in the restaurant. I got to wait for my food while the band practiced on the drum kit for about 30 minutes without actually performing. Wing Wa has received a DNR from me and my family - do not return. read more

This is our local Chinese restaurant. The staff are friendly and the food is hot. It is typical American Chinese food but tasty.

After hearing some businesses moan about how hard it was for them during the pandemic, you'd think they'd be putting their best foot forward now to bring local and visiting customers back, but not this place. It used to be our holiday tradition to eat here on New Year's Eve -- we'd have a few drinks, enjoy appetizers and eat our dinner. It was a special occasion for us. My wife is a vegetarian and has been for many years, so she has always been very specific with her menu choices, and she has always been accommodated. This New Year's Eve (2022-23) she ordered the Shrimp Vegetable Chow Mein. She was told the cook screwed up her dish and instead made her the Chicken/Shrimp version, and that we would need to wait a little longer for her correct vegetarian meal to be made. When her order arrived, she found that the cook simply picked the obvious chicken pieces out from on top of the meal and left pieces of chicken under the noodles. Lazy and deceitful. The bartender, who also served as our waiter on this evening, explained it was because the restaurant had run out of noodles -- at 5 p.m.? The restaurant did not charge us for her meal, which we returned to the bar. Needless to say, this local will not be returning to Wing Wa Restaurant, and you would be better off trying one of the other eating establishments in our fine city. read more

The place was clean and inviting looking. We ordered fish and chips. The food looked appealing when it arrived. Generous portions and no greasy appearance. But, the fish tasted old and smelled funny. I tried a small bite off each one and it all tasted terrible. I couldn't eat it. All I ate was some of my fries. I was pretty disappointed considering we paid $32 for the food. The egg swirl soup was excellent, but that was it, everything else was laden with grease, the deep fried rolls were thickly battered and dripping oil, the left over fried rice had congealed oil in the next day. Needing to eat within walking distance of our motel, and after eating seafood for several days, we decided to try it. Very happy we did. We ordered the #1 family style. Everything was very tasty and there was lots of it. We even had enough to take back to my son and a couple of kids for a snack. It's been a couple of years, but the place seems much like it was when I last visited there. I had driven down to the coast from Seattle and hit Depoe Bay around 11-12 at night, very tired, hungry. The bar downstairs was open in full swing, and I saw there was a Chinese place upstairs, so I asked about it. They handed me a MENU! I ordered chicken chow mein, and old favorite my mom used to buy me when I was a little kid and we'd go shopping. In a short while, someone brought downstairs the biggest serving of chicken chow mein I have ever seen! It was delicious and I ate every bit of it. Happy at last, I had a few beers, then went next door to the 4 Winds motel (at that time it was 49 per night) and slept like a rock. Very happy time. Sorry I can't comment on much else so have to give a 4 because I just didn't know any more, but these folks were super to me with service, friendliness, and good food when I was ravenous very late at night. read more

If you are looking for affordable dinner past 8 pm around at Depoe Bay, pretty much you are out of luck. Originally, we were going to try out Jack's but they closed after 8 pm. Booooo...! So the other option was Wing Wa Chinese Restaurant. We got there about 8:30 and there were only two other diners there. Food is standard Chinese American fare. We ordered out of the Light Dinner menu. I got the Kung Pao Shrimps which came with Egg Flower soup, crab puffs, and pork fried rice. My dinner was $8.95. Jesse ordered the Sweet Sour pork with the same pairing and his was $7.95. The soup was tasty. My Kung Pao Shrimps was decent. Shrimps were fresh (woohooo) and it was good amount of spice. Jesse's sweet & sour pork was pretty good and it came with Pineapple chunks which was a surprise. Crab puffs were tasty. The only downside was the fried rice. It tasted burnt and tasteless. Service was in the weird side. The lady was nice in the so so way. When she gave our check, she stood there and waited for us to fill out our check. It made it very awkward. I've never been to a restaurant where the server waited next to us and stared at the check to see how much tip we were going to put in. It's not a big deal, but it's pretty weird. Now, we know that we have to eat before 8 pm if we are staying at Depoe Bay again because I don't really want to end up eating Chinese food when I'm at the coast. :). read more

I went with a group of friends for Karaoke and drinks. This place gives one a taste of local life and a good time. The locals will engage you in conversation and you will will sing. This is a place where the beer flows like wine and people get up and dance. So many businesses in this area close early, a person's options are limited. However, I like a down-to-earth working man's bar. The beer options were minimal and the seating is vast for a tiny place. I will be a returning visitor to this place. read more
