Another beautiful shot for Salt Lake City's best chippy.
    Steve B.

This place is quite good and I sing it's praises often when recommending a good chippy. The fish is fresh, the breading just the right thickness and the tartar sauce and fry sauce appear and taste homemade. Service is friendly, yet usually slower than expected, but the end result is worth the wait. My preferred order is two pieces of cod, chips and copious amounts of malt vinega. The only way it could be better is if we'd just stepped off the train after watching Man City crush Everton. FishOn is a quality chippy and once you try it, you'll be hooked. Yeah, groan, but I had to do it.

Came here for lunch. Plenty of parking available. We were seated right away in the small dining room with only one other table occupied. Staff was friendly enough. We ordered & then waited. And waited some more. We waited a long time. Staff checked on us like once or twice. Our food did come out hot & made to order. The lobster roll was fairly basic, but I appreciated the meat being fresh and fluffy. Fries were nothing to write home about. Fish and chips were a hearty portion for the money & my husband enjoyed them. After we finished we waited some more. No one came for quite some time to check on us. I finally went to the kitchen and all the staff was outside enjoying coffee & a smoke. After waiting awkwardly in the kitchen doorway for someone to notice me, I interrupted their conversation & asked for a to-go box & the check. They asked me to go back to my table & they would be out with those things shortly. They did come out after a few minutes. We packed our leftovers up, paid the bill, & left. I liked the food well enough, but the service was lacking. I wouldn't turn down going again, but I wouldn't go out of my way to return.

FishOn was a complete surprise to me! A small restaurant in the back of an older strip mall... and it has some of the BEST fish and chips I've had. This is comparable to eating on a pier! The waiter was super nice and professional. He was just so enthusiastic about the food he was serving. I really had an enjoyable experience. All I can say is come here and keep this place in business! We will definitely be back soon!

I love this place! I haven't been able to make it over to FishOn Bistro for a while. I was concerned that maybe things had slipped but to my delight it has stayed as good as it was and maybe a bit better. Crispy fish and battered fries that were great!

Finally tried FishOn Bistro in Millcreek: #1 It's adorable, in a very adult way #2 The fried cod was light and yummy! Especially good with a fresh squeeze. #3 The tartar sauce was definitely homemade and I really enjoyed it w/my fries. They were unseasoned, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, perfect for me w/a little #4 The service was very good #5 And most important: the Clam Chowder stole the show! It was creamy, but not thick... VERY flavorful with fresh potatoes (peel on). It's the best Ive had in UT and I was raised in New England

We came back today, upset they are closed and guess what? The owner saw us outside and let us in. How cool is that? Love everything about this place.

I came here for a lunch one day. It was a quiet little place and a little chilly. The area was very clean and the waiter who helped was very nice. I do not feel like it is a good spot for a business because it was a little difficult to find but they have such great food! I can't even put into words how great the food was. I couldn't even finish everything but I wanted to so bad. The fish n chips options are great and the salmon and Mac n cheese was amazing. I definitely can't wait to go back!

Rating (maximum points = 5) Value for money: 4 Cleanliness: 5 Food Quality: 5 Customer Service: 4 Look and Feel (Ambiance): 4 Thank you, Come Again?: 5 Congratulations to FishOn Bistro for opening their store location in Millcreek. Prior to the shop, FishOn was a food truck and served fish and chips to Utahns all over Salt Lake County. I haven't had the pleasure of trying out the food truck but I would be curious to see if the food quality matches up the restaurant. The restaurant is tucked in the corner of an old shopping center in Millcreek. Fish and Chips (Cod) $15.95 - This dish comes with 3 pieces of hand battered cod. (Mine came with 4 small cod pieces) The restaurant uses rice bran oil to fry up their fish and fries. The crispy batter is light and isn't too greasy. The dish comes with a side of tartar and fry sauce. I don't believe the tartar sauce is made in house. It would be a great opportunity for them to make the sauce onsite. Clam Chowder $4.95 - The New England style soup was meaty and quite hearty. Most restaurants make clam chowder too thick and floury but FishOn's version is light. There isn't any floury aftertaste and the texture is spot on. Overall, FishOn Bistro would be a great spot to fulfill your fish and chips cravings. My only recommendation is to provide better takeout packaging and proper training to the staff. While I was dining at the restaurant, I observed two different customers who had ordered fish and chips for takeout. The staff handed the customers overstuffed boxes with no bags. Generous portions are great for customers, but there needs to be better takeout packaging. One of the customers complained and said that the box will likely burst open and the food will spill out all over their car during transit. The staff member should have anticipated the customer's concerns and properly packaged the food (e.g., separate the fish and chips into two boxes instead of stuffing them into one). This issue can be corrected. Would you go? Let me know. Follow me for all the Salt City sips and trips.

The oil frying the fish really needs to be changed. Has an old oil taste. Otherwise, I think it would be fine.

I knew from the parking lot this place was a winner. Once inside, it had a welcoming atmosphere and people inside were all having a good time. This brewery features Lager Beers crafted using traditional Bavarian/European methods...thus I had to try one...two...maybe more. Luckily there was a ton of delicious looking food on the menu from the expected pizzas and wings to the old world treats like beef stroganoff, goulash and schnitzal. Everything is made from scratch and I couldn't help looking at all the neighboring tables to get an idea of what to try. Our waitress Ashley was really helpful and checked if the pesto was made with nuts as we have peanut and tree nut allergies in our family. Luckily there were no pine nuts or other substitutes and we could safely have it! We ended up getting quite a feast of plates and then topped it off with two desserts- the bread pudding and the German chocolate cake (couldn't come to a family agreement so had to get both!). Thanks Bohemian Brewery for the excellent time!

We had the pork shank and the chicken schnitzel. The pork shank came with spatzle and red cabbage-excellent dish. The chicken schnitzel was pretty good. It had a fresh taste to it and even a little lemon-y, which didn't make the fried cutlet taste too rich. It came with mashed potatoes, gravy and veggies. The veggies were your basic steamed veggies, but the dish was overall good. Service was great-server was attentive and the manager came around as well to check on us. I think it would be fun to come here for Oktoberfest, since the inside has a good ambiance.

We were greeted with a warm welcome. I always feel guilty stopping in to eat at a place that is soon to close because I'm sure they also want to just go home and rest after a long day. We offered to leave if they were already wrapping up for the night. The ladies working, were kind, and eager to get us fed. I can't thank them enough. We were tired, hot, and hungry. We enjoyed a delicious clam chowder and sandwich and made sure to get pie to go. It was just what we needed after a long day. Thank you again and you have earned a life long customer!

This place did not start off well for me. We arrived at 5:30 pm and there was no parking. Even if…read morethey had a spot, I'm not sure I wanted to park there. For some reason, the customers forgot how to park in between the lines. When I first looked at the menu, the prices were a little shocking. I ordered a side salad with ranch, and the Left Fork burger on a brioche bun with Havarti cheese. The salad was romaine but they had a leaf that had some spoilage on it. The buttermilk ranch was homemade, which I appreciated but something was missing. It needed more garlic powder and a tad more dill. The burger was supposed to have garlic mayo on it but there was no hint of garlic whatsoever. I appreciated the fact that they used real butter and toasted the buns. However, they did not season the patty which made the ground beef flavor come through more. Nasty. The pickle was wilted and not crunchy. They coated the fries, which gave it that extra little crunch. That was good. For dessert, I ordered the pecan pie. The filing was amazing. The crust, at least the bottom, not so good. The bottom crust was way too thin for my liking. It was so thin that it made it soggy. The top rim crust was crispy but not flakey. This place is closing in April 2026 and I don't know if it's even worth rating at this point. We spoke to the employees and they said they're closing due to the apartment complex is taking over their lease for additional parking. This place is old. The chairs are rickety and the tables really rock. The carpet is dirty and it looks in need of a refreshing anyways. The portion sizes are ok and maybe I just ordered the wrong items. My sister-in-law ordered the grapefruit cream pie and it was amazing. Everyone else's dish looked pretty good. Now for my rating. I'm torn. It's a 3 1/2 but I can only rate a 3 or 4. I choose 3. Unfortunately, you don't get a second chance at a first impression. I got the bill. $7,99 for a salad??? I almost had a bird!!! Oh, and the tap water tasted funny...
