I also had potentional excema on my hands to be examined. The office was understaffed. I did not mind at all. It happens. Was brought for my long awaited skin scan. An assistance and another in training was there. The skin scan was anything but thorough!! Not remotely full body. I felt I needed a scan when I left the office. The blackhead removal was ridiculous. Had to be numbed first?? Did not think I could deal with the pressure. Pin head size mind you with cauterized. No discussion prior to see if I felt I needed All this. I did not. Followed by my had exam for excema. I was told she would provide a cream for the condition. The session was rushed and Dr. Schreiner never spoke directly to me during my entire visit. Her observations as well as type of medication were directed to her assistant. It was dismissive and I was not apart of their discussion. I was not provided with the cream. Instead Dr. Schreiner went into her next patient. I was told to go wait in the waiting room until she then finished with the next patient another 20 minutes. Not certain if she would not jump to the next one. I waited and then left the office. I never received a call seeing that I had left. That the medication was sent to my pharmacy. Where in picking up another perscription was then told wa la. It was there. My hope is my next visit maybe with Dr. Fisk. I still feel like I need a appropiate skin scan.

This doctor charged $95 for a missed appt. to an elderly patient. Regrdless an appt can be canceled that far in advance for any patient. She also asked for her chart and because he cannot post on MY Chart OR have email capabilities (only Fax?) he denied her her chart information. To go a step further, he charged her $29 for the one piece of paper she had to drive there and pick up and when she arrived the front desk had a note NOT to give her the information on her chart info until she paid the $95 plus the $29. He also will not return any phone calls. I have left 3 messages.

I subsequently received a bill for $95 for "late cancellation"...absolutely incredulous. I've officially disputed the invoice; and, will obviously never go back. Other critics have written correctly, there's a reason this guy is the only derm you can get a quick appointment with. I find his billing practice to be inconsiderate and unprofessional. Dr Marino may not respect my time but I do. Guess what Dr Marino, I won't be wasting any more of my valuable time trying to book yours!!!

The administrative staff were warm, welcoming, and easy to communicate with, which made for a pleasant initial interaction. Unfortunately, my consultation with Dr. Loffredo did not meet professional expectations. During our brief interaction, approximately 10 minutes, he was dismissive and spoke over me throughout the conversation. Despite asking questions, he repeatedly interrupted my responses, which made it difficult to feel heard or respected as a patient. Additionally, the nurse present in the room demonstrated a similar lack of professionalism. As a nurse myself, I hold fellow healthcare professionals to a high standard, and I found the behavior of both Dr. Loffredo and his nurse to be discourteous and unprofessional. Following the appointment, Dr. Loffredo contacted me by phone and spoke in a manner I found abrupt and inappropriate. Given the nature of this experience, I would not return to this practice, regardless of cost. While I had heard positive things about Cape & Islands Plastic Surgery, I can only assume those reviews pertain to other providers within the practice!

I was very disappointed by this dermatologist. I was staying on Cape Cod for a couple months and…read morehad some dark spots on my face that I was concerned about. This doctor took very little time examining me and said that he didn't know what the spots were, but that they weren't anything to worry about. Unsatisfied, I went to my dermatologist back home a couple months later who said the same spots were concerning, unusual, and pre-cancerous. He removed them. The initial price for a visit to Medical & Cosmetic Dermatology is over twice as much as that of other local dermatologists (for those who don't have insurance coverage) and the time and care I received was not at all reflective of the higher cost. While I was in the waiting room, an elderly woman was there for an appointment accompanied by her husband. While his wife was seeing the doctor, the husband explained to the receptionist that because his wife was a client there, maybe he too should switch to this dermatologist just to make life easier. The receptionist asked, "What's your insurance?" He said it was Medicare. "We aren't taking any more Medicare patients", she said. I know that many doctors find Medicare patients too much paperwork for too little reimbursement, but it was heartbreaking to see a very elderly man treated so brusquely. And to see a doctor at work who is clearly more interested in money than in the health of his patients.
