The boot camps have gotten my work outs back on track and my level of fitness close to that of my 16 year old self. The environment is super supportive - not intimidating AT ALL. Katie is a great trainer and really tries to make the work outs fun. My sister, who used to HATE working out, has done the camps with me. Not only did she lose all of her pregnancy weight but she's in better shape than she ever was and actually enjoys working out now. This girl used to jog for 5 seconds before practically keeling over - now she can be seen jogging around the track and beating me at push up offs. If you need some discipline and a boost to your work out regime or you want to make some serious life changes in the fitness department, I cannot recommend Michigan Adventure Boot Camps enough.

I've been attending the St. Clair Shores location every morning, four days a week. Getting up at 5:00am can be challenging, but the workout you get is totally worth it. The workouts are structured very well with a perfect cardio to strengthen training ratio. and no day is ever the same. Like others have mentioned, the environment is 100% supportive. Every works as a team and everyone is able to go at their own pace. I've dropped inches and have gained tons of strength (I can do 20 real pushups, before I couldn't do any). If you're looking for a fun, good, and effective workout then this is the right fit for you! I cannot recommend this camp enough, even at any fittness level.

When a friend recently invited myself and my colleague (the owner of the studio where I work) to participate in a private training session, we took advantage of it. We agreed that it was one of the best workouts we had done. We returned the following week to attend a group class. Having trained at Barwis on two occasions, to say that we were impressed is an understatement. We found a fitness facility that can supplement our martial arts training, and get us in amazing shape. First of all, the facility is clean and stocked with state-of-the-art fitness equipment. Weight machines, battle ropes, bands, hurdles, Swiss balls, boxes (for jumping), treadmills, slam balls...you name it, they have it. There is a turf field that runs the length of the facility; I believe it is 100 yards long, perhaps even longer. Second, the trainers are straightforward, encouraging, and knowledgeable. I found this to be true during both private and group sessions. Third, the workout is intense and results-yielding. I have never participated in an hour-long exercise regimen that hit all muscle groups. The soreness lasted for a few days, and short-term results were immediately noticeable. I am looking forward to the longer-term results! In short, Barwis is a state-of-the-art facility with top-notch instructors. If you want results, choose Barwis.

Our Boot Camp is held indoors and provides instruction on both fitness and nutrition, combined with tons of motivation and fun. Small dumbbells, bands, balls, ropes, kettlebells, medicine balls, and other misc equipment are also used. The goal is to get you moving, elevate your heart rate and build lean muscle so your body burns twice as much fat. NOTE: Ladies, do not worry you will not get bulky. Muscle is more compact and smaller than fat and a key component to burning fat. Also, it's much more shapely. The spa definitely needs a makeover. The tech, Phyllis, not only is a nail tech but has a background in podiatry. She is such a sweetie! The LifeTime staff, are very kind, informative and helpful. I hear them call members by name, they stop and chat with you. The instructors actually speak with you when you are new to a class or an event. You can ask questions and talk to them about anything. So far, since this is new I've taken the Arora yoga classes and the instructors are FABULOUS! There are classes for all physical capabilities with zero judgement on what you can or can't do. So far, the facilities used have been clean, in working order and good to go. There is plenty of parking for handicapped, motorcycles and other vehicles in both sides of the building. There is a small cafeteria with a nice selection of beverages, food, snacks and workout clothes. It is immaculately kept. I am not a fan of dressing and undressing in front of all, but that's the way it is. Not a fan. There is shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the showers. The sinks have feminine products, mouthwash, soap, lotion, shaving cream, deodorant, hair spray and hair dryers. If clients would stop taking products, there would be more than one like today. There is a eucalyptus steam room in the lockers, that was an experience, so good. There is a sauna, whirlpool, cold plunge, lap pool, indoor and outdoor pool. This place is family friendly. If you have children, look into their camps and facilities. The staff was very interactive and patient with the little lifers. You must try the hydro massage chair, there should be 5! It's wonderful, oh my goodness. All in all there is something for everyone at the one stop. Like a beautiful diamond, my favorite, it is multifaceted with staff, things to do, a place to eat, pampering services galore etc etc. loving it
