Look, I knew that I wanted to be a part of I Love Kickboxing before I ever joined. Boxing, Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Tae-Bo---the martial arts---they've always been awe-inspiring to me. The idea alone that there would be this center for training right in my back yard was enough. The first day I stepped inside the studio I saw people of all shapes and sizes getting fitted in their gloves and ready for training. My excitement then was on ten. My own first training day was uber-hype--well, maybe that's an understatement. I decided to try kickboxing four years ago, and it's one of the greatest decisions I've ever made. I've lost nearly 60 lbs and am in the best shape of my life. I recently completed the six-week gym challenge and it was an amazing experience. The six-week gym challenge was exactly what I needed to kickstart my fitness journey. The program was well-structured and provided me with the motivation and guidance I needed to achieve my fitness goals. This is the one of the best gyms not only in Harlem but all of NYC. I have been a member since around May 2017 and the instructors and energy are why I keep coming back day after day. It's truly a positive environment and a kickass workout. You will be energized and dripping with sweat after each session. I have never regretted a workout here but I ALWAYS regret NOT going! The instructors are super attentive and will help modify your exercise if you have an injury. I came here after I broke my ankle and have since strengthened it back to normal. They have a high standard for cleanliness and love Lysol and telling people to clean their gloves (which you should!) Some instructors strongly value form which is something I appreciate. Others value more of the cardio aspect. You'll learn which instructor style is fit for you. They all have great senses of humor which is perfect for when you're about to give up on your squat. read more

So one day, I was walking by the gym I had a membership to but never attended and I saw I Love Kickboxing. I figured, why not give it a go? My problem with traditional gyms is that I am lazy. I will go, maybe walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes, and pat myself on the back for a job well done while skipping off to the Dunkin Donuts down the street. I need accountability. And comradery. And non-stop movement. And fun! ILKB Harlem has given me all that and more. During the first class, I thought I would die. After the first class, I thought I would live forever. The class was taught by Lauren with an assist from Chris, and they were awesome! They do a great job of keeping you motivated, sweating, engaged, and entertained. I felt the work out all over! I think the program was invigorating it was everything that you expected to be and more they work you out to no extent, make every bone in your body move. There's nothing bad to say about ilovekickboxing. Everybody there is friendly they make sure that you feel welcomed right at the door, they make sure that you have everything that you need. And all rules are clear you are there to work out and have fun and that's exactly what I did you worked out and have fun. It didn't feel so much like an exercise program. I would still be a part of it but I started experiencing hip pain that lead to me not being able to move. Not due to the exercise but my leg problems. I so miss it. Where to even start with I Love Kickboxing (Harlem, NY). The first day you walk through the doors you feel the energy, from not only the amazing instructors, but also from your fellow kick boxers. Everyone is at different stages in their fitness journey, but the motivation you feel from the instructors and the other people is incredible. Before, I was not motivated to go workout after a long day at work, and now I look forward to those afternoon workout sessions. On top of that, the environment itself is great. The studio is always clean and smells fresh. This experience has definitely made a difference for me. I feel stronger and my form gets better every day. I started the kick boxing class after purchasing a Groupon for 10 classes. It took me a few months to actually redeem the groupon. When I did, I had to wait about 3 weeks to start my first class as I needed to attend a class with a private instructor and the availabilities did not match my schedule. I was finally able to start my first class towards the end of November and became a member in January/February 2017. The work out is intense with the high paced 15 minute warm up, then some stretching followed by the actual bag routines and ends with partner work and a cool down stretching. The instructors are all friendly and welcoming. The other participants are nice as well. I really enjoy this experience! read more

I have to say that joining iLoveKickboxing in Harlem was the best fitness decision I made this year 2017. The environment is awesome, and the instructors and trainers are just amazing. This place is full of motivation and positivity. The staff pusshes you to the maximum, and I have to say it's great. You get to have fun, get a great work out; learn self defense, and get in shape all in one. You also get to meet great amazing people. I became a member of ILKB after my first class, and I am so happy with that decision! The instructors are really what get me to come back - they keep me motivated and (especially) accountable. They're so friendly and high-energy - exactly what you need in a fitness instructor! They are also really good about making sure that you are doing the moves correctly to maximize your workout and avoid injury. The workout is amazing, and definitely kicks butt! While there is a routine-element (15 minute "warm-up" [it's intense!], same stretches after, bag rounds, partner rounds) it is constantly changing, so you will never get bored with it. This place is awesome. The instructors are not only friendly, funny but seamlessly keep you motivated the entire hour. The facilities are clean; the front even desk provided a new hairband when I forgot mine. The sales pitch after the first class seemed a bit much; I only ended up regretting, signing up the second day and missing out on the deep discount offered. As a person who cannot commit to a regular gym, I have been at ILKB for about 8 months and highly recommend this facility. You not only get the motivating class 'feel' but the instructor's focus on your form during the multiple rounds- all the things you normally find at smaller studios. read more

I heard about ILoveKickboxing from a friend who saw a deal on Groupon. Another friend and I got the 7 class trial on Groupon and chose the Harlem location because it was the halfway point between where we live. I'm soooo glad we picked this location! The instructors are amazing. It feels like seeing old friends every time I take a class. After my 4th trial class, I signed up for a membership. I really love this place. I had never tried kickboxing before but I can't imagine not doing it now. It's challenging but it doesn't feel impossible. I love seeing where I improve each time I come to class. The instructors are personable and make a real effort to get to know you and what your strengths and weaknesses are. Trying to schedule the first class is a nightmare and it's not because their classes are so popular that they're full. It's because they literally have no one answering the phones for most of the day. The instructors are the only ones in the building. They call back hours or days later at times when I was usually at work. Even if I called them back within five minutes of missing their call, they wouldn't pick up and I had to leave another voicemail. In my case, they didn't answer emails either. They need to get a receptionist. read more

Best gym in the city! I get a great work out and its fun. I also love each and every staff member. Each one of them bring their own style to the mat, are challenging and are very very good at what they do. I have been coming hear for almost 2 years, I am great shape and my body look amazing! This gym is my happy place and my second home! The extra bonus, is that I have formed some amazing friendships with the staff and other members of the gym.
