Nice gym in Auburn!…read more I went before they remodeled and enjoyed my workouts here. I took yoga class and Zumba, everything is included here. You can get a key fob and go after the office closes, which is nice. Good gym with nice people and good equipment!

During unstaffed hours, the code reader would most of the time not let me in. Since the barcode wasn't hooked up with an account, if I scanned a banana enough times I probably could have entered haha. I also could not log in through the old app to my account. About a year and a half ago, a new hire (at the time) and I figured out that my account was not established to a point where I could come in and out of the gym without someone else letting me in. I'm grateful the issue was an easy resolution, I hope anyone who let me in didn't get penalized. The AC system was updated recently, before it was incredibly hot inside in the summer. Currently it is still incredibly hot inside. I have heard that the gym's temp is based off of what the side room for classes is at. Even if it's closed and a class is in progress. I could have heard wrong. The AC thermometer is under one of the two fans in the weight room and displays 74° currently. It is absolutely hotter away from the wind. I'd recommend going to the gym before 12am to avoid the heat. They use a new fitness app that is actually very good. Loads fast, lots of features. I said earlier that the gym has nice staff. I have been getting workout advice and having general conversations with a bunch of the employees here since I began lifting. The community here is noticeable and you can have a convo with almost anyone. If you want to be social, come in the mornings/evenings. If you want to be more to yourself, come during noon. All in all, it's a nice gym, just freakin hot and it makes me get gassed too fast compared to other gyms.

When I requested to remove my teenager from our plan, I was charged a 75$ fee (more than what I was paying to have her on our membership). It feels excessive, and wrong. This club already has some of the highest membership costs in the area (we were paying 265$ for a 1 adult, 2 toddlers, and 1 teenager). I was also surprised that members are required to provide a doctor's note in order to place their account on hold. Also, feels excessive, and wrong. The amount to downgrade the membership feels disproportionate. And the policies here don't feel member-friendly. Even the staff makes me feel unheard. So when I found an ad in the newspaper for this place offering a free tour of the facility, I made an appointment. First impression: They were friendly and informative without being "salesy." I was offered some printed matter that disclosed all the different pricing options and how their programs work. So I made an appointment to meet with a personal trainer. Second impression: My goal was to find out if they were serious about training or just trying to sell me the program. My evaluation and background check of fitness past and current was thorough and complete and not once was I sold anything. Once the appointment was complete, I signed up for a 3 month commitment to myself. Conclusion: I've been going now for 1.5 months and my work with Lauren has been nothing but positive and slightly amazing. Not only is she working with my quirky body and it's limits, but she's empowering me to use my own equipment at home to continue there when I can't get in to use the facilities at ProActive. I look forward to workouts, even when I dread them, because I know I'm going to learn something new about what my body cannot do at this time and learn how to work toward gaining that strength or range of motion in the not-too-far-off future. I continue to get stronger and my body shape is changing. I feel muscle where there was once just cushy tissue. If you really want a truly personalized program built to your body and what your body needs to improve (however YOU define that), then I highly recommend ProActive Personal Training. It's worth EVERY penny.

I should tell you all I'm over weight, and have health issues including a bad ankle and knee, and I really don't like to exercise. Why am I giving this rating. Several reasons. 1. And 3, she pushes me, since i don't like to exercise, it is easy to not push myself, Autumn, has learned me and knows I need to be pushed past my comfort zone. I highly recommend Autumn and invite you to come along on your own fitness journey. My current fitness journey started in March of 2022. I decided I wanted to go into my 60's (just around the corner in 2023) being the "best me" that I could be so I started taking a Pilates class at my HOA. Autumn was the Pilates instructor and from the beginning, I really liked her approach to fitness. I've always felt that fitness includes mind, body and soul and that's what Autumn was saying as well. When I found out that Autumn was a certified personal trainer and she had received permission from the HOA to train homeowners in the HOA fitness center, I was all in! I started as a client with Autumn in September 2022. Autumn pays particular attention to your form which I really appreciate. She is very knowledgeable and patient as I'm sure I've asked the same questions over and over. Looking back over my journey, I see that Autumn started me off with some basic "building blocks" that have evolved over time. The starting exercises that I thought were so difficult have become easier. I feel better in body, stronger and moving better. I have found that regular exercise is also a great stress reliever. Autumn has been fun to work with, there is a lot of work but also a lot of laughter. I enjoy my weekly hour with Autumn. Since Autumn is "mobile" and not tied to a particular gym, Autumn travels out to meet with my Mom who is 85 years old. My Mom has limited mobility and with Autumn's help, is getting stronger. I really appreciate Autumn and can't say enough good things about her. This has been an awesome journey, one that I will stick with and continue to achieve things I didn't think was possible. Thank you Autumn!!!

PSA for those of you wanting to check out different gyms.... Here is a recommendation for a place…read moreto AVOID. We absolutely loved Burn Boot Camp until recently. When called out the owner for deceptive business practices, not only did she blocked us on all social media, she also cancelled our memberships immediately and banned us from the gym. Guilty much? Here is a breakdown of events: The owner marketed a Weight Loss challenge the Commit Challenge from 1/13-2/22. This was marketed as a New Year weight loss challenge for everyone and was really hyped up. Everyone got a container of protein and a shirt and entered the competition for $100 ea. There was no criteria sent out prior to signing up other than that it was a weight loss challenge. Here is the timeline of events: 12/27 - First email sent out about Commit Challenge. No mention of winners criteria besides "cash Prizes for Top 3 Biggest Losers" "Schedule Focus Meeting and set your goal by 1/12, says challenge dates are 1/13-2/22." Entry free was $100 per person, we believe about 120 people joined this challenge?. 1/08 email with receipt for charge of entry fee into challenge - The date we were charged for the challenge 1/11 commit challenge info sent out , still does not state criteria used to decide winners, provides link to submit challenge info and states inbody scan must be from prior to 1/13/2025 (has no date range...so theoretically someone could use a scan from last July as there are no written rules stating It must be a recent scan in email) Just says body fat in pounds must be entered on the form. 1/18 week one check in email has no mention of criteria 1/24 week 2 pulse check no mention of winner criteria 2/6 week 3 - Halfway check-in /top losers FIRST MENTION OF CRITERIA FOR CALCULATING HOW IT WOULD BE SCORED. Still Vague. Everyone was to send in their final weigh-ins via google forms by 2/22 6pm. Winners were not announced via email, no one was notified with the exception of a single Instagram post. This is where it gets very confusing. The top winners were VERY thin and who are conveniently close friends with the owner. They could not have possibly lost 20% + body fat without completely starving themselves in an unhealthy way. Larger people who were winning halfway through the challenge suddenly were not even top 10, even after doubling their midway point. People who were larger did not have a chance and it also feels like this was a cash grab as you cannot see any of this information on their public FB pages, or IG other than who won. Even their "VIP" group on Facebook was not notified of anything regarding who won. This entire competition, which we thought would be fun and competitive, was a sham to begin with as anyone could starve themselves or fudge the numbers and win. Those who did the weekly check ins, did the 4 camps a week, and followed protein goals did not have a fighting chance. If we had known that the sole statistic used to determine prize winners was % of body fat percentage lost, without anything else in place, we would not have paid to do this challenge. It was unethical to have a paid challenge for cash prizes without clearly defined criteria, released prior to sign up, on what it would take to win, so participants could make an educated decision on whether it would make sense for them to sign up. There were clearly errors made in the calculations on the midway check in, I believe that those errors carried over to the final results, as the percentage of body fat lost claimed by the top 10, especially the top 5, are questionable (losing 22.5% of your body fat in 6 weeks is an insane amount no matter your size and extremely unlikely/unhealthy.) It is my belief that this challenge was hyped up and promoted in an intentionally vague manner in order to get more people to sign up for it as a cash grab, which it was clearly very successful at doing based on the amount of participants we saw in the beginning. Utilizing a single criterion that has an extremely lower difficulty level for people who are already small isn't a good look, and I would be willing to bet that a lot of others would have not signed up if they knew that it was a one-sided competition that favored people who were already fit. When owner was talked to about it, she doubled down on her being a fitness professional and implied (not in these exact words) that we were just sore losers. We never cared about winning but wanted a fair chance, which we didn't get. We spent $320 a month to attend Burn, bought merch and supplements, and participated in challenges like the Level Up games, but since her takeover, we have never felt wanted as we are not skinny and fit like others. Day one with Burn it felt that we were there to get in shape and meet or exceed goals when now, since the change in owners, it feels as if there has been a shift priorities. It feels less inclusive.
