Pros: -6 Hammer Strength power racks with bumper plates -Friendly staff Cons: -It gets extremely crowded to the point where lines form at the machines, ruining your workout, yet they do not increase their prices to accommodate what the facility can handle. I assume that prices need to be about doubled to get the clientele down to what the facility can handle. -They do not fix or replace machines as needed. They have two smith machines, and one of them sticks to the point where you can't use it for most exercises, so everyone waits in line for the only working smith machine while the other one stays empty. A few of the other machines have the grip coming off which exposes a sticky glue substance which gets on your hands as soon as you start the exercise -They do not bolt the equipment down (including the power racks and benches) so it gets crooked which throws off your lift -They do not provide enough dumbbells for the classes. I do not go to the classes myself, however, when a weight class is about to start, multiple people (around 5-10) will take all of the dumbbells ranging from 5lbs-25lbs from the main gym leaving the gym without those dumbbells for the duration of that class (about an hour) read more

This gym is honestly just fine. There's not many gyms in Livermore (there's only this one, 24H, and Anytime Fitness). You kind of get what you pay for. I've never had any negative interactions with the patrons here - definitely a high volume of high schoolers that come in and out of the space. Staff are fine too, they say hi when you come in and bye when you come out. The bathrooms are definitely gross and outdated, and sometimes there's not enough wipes around, but overall it's decent. I ended up deciding to cancel my membership as they installed new blue lights, which are pretty jarring for my eyes. read more

I've been going here for over a decade, this gym does the bare minimum job with the most basic equipment and has the most consistently low level of customer service I ever experienced , genuinely. It's always crowded except from 9:30pm-11pm, and don't you dare stay in the gym when the clock turns to 11:01. The employees have only become more miserable and rude over the years. The majority have never been great, one of the ones I thought was the nicest was fired for taking pics of women in the tanning bed a few years back, but you can really tell they don't even make enough to pretend to be happy now. They enforce the rules on members and then proceed to break the same rules right in front of your face. I've been thrown through hoops and loops ever since fitness 19 rebranded to vim+vigor and after 3 months of returning to Livermore from Pleasanton I was randomly informed there's problems with my membership again. This company is just ran by clowns at the end of the day who can't even pay for water pressure strong enough to wash your hands with. You're paying the bare minimum, expect the bare minimum. I used to feel like this gym was really solid, but the renovations with the new lighting has really downgraded my experience. The old lights were nice because they were a warm light with a filter over them, but the new lights are this super neon-cold blue combined with this bright hospital-like white. Every time I go to the gym I walk out feeling nauseous and with the beginnings of a migraine and I feel like I have to look at the ground while I work out. I really hope the gym considers changing the lights to a softer option or even to a warm-toned color (like red) with a filter. I used to really enjoy this gym--great equipment, solid environment, and it always felt like a place to focus and recharge. But ever since the renovations started last week, it's been a different story. The newly installed blue ceiling lights might be intended for aesthetics, but they're honestly annoying. The kinda harsh, fluorescent glow is a bit intense--eye-straining to the point of giving me a headache every single visit. What was once a motivating space now feels more like a migraine trigger. I really hope they reconsider the lighting design, because it's made the experience noticeably worse. I am considering finding another gym. read more

As a longtime Fitness 19 customers, I was very disappointed that recently, the .5 size dumbbells were removed from the free weight area. These would include the 7.5, 12.5, 17.5 and 22.5 weights. There are many folks over 60 that utilized these weights on a regular basis and losing those weights definitely impacts their workout. I've spoken with several gym members who have expressed frustration that these weights have disappeared. It's also aggravating that these 1/2 weights have reappeared from time to time only to disappear again from some unknown reason. While I understand that these weights are not part of the 'new' dumbbell set that came a few months ago, they are important to a vital segment of this gym's customer base. Please bring the 1/2 size dumbbells back. I don't care where you store them. Your customer base would appreciate it! read more

I have been coming to this gym for the past two years and it has become like a second home to me. During the construction of this gym I used my scanner to go to the *former* fitness 19 in Pleasanton. Little did I know, without my knowledge, the pleasanton location completely transferred my membership to their new title and did not notify me. Not a single email or heads up whatsoever. I had been continuing to attend f19 in Livermore for months until I was informed last week that I was actually no longer a member. I have been going to Fitness 19 in Livermore for a few years now. Over the last 12 months I have been working with Tyler as my trainer for a few days a week. He has helped transform my body and teach me proper lifting and gym practices. I cannot be more thankful for the attention to detail and enjoyment that Tyler brings to my gym experience. The facility is not the largest and during business hours it can be difficult to get every piece of equipment you might want but most people are open to sharing equipment (you just need to ask) and the team is prompt to repair equipment that requires it. If I could give a lower rating I would. The gym itself was great BUT trying to get out of the contract when we moved has been a nightmare. I sent the request via email as advised and several days later we received a request to submit our lease agreement to prove we had moved. We sent as requested and then several, several days later received another email that we need to include the signature portion of the lease. Sent as requested and never heard back. during this time, both my fiancée and I are getting charged monthly to both our accounts. I emailed every week and received no response. Finally, my fiancée went to his bank and put a stop payment on the charges. My bank would not accommodate that stop payment, so I continued to be charged monthly. This went on for an entire year - I'd email and no reply. When we got married last March, I closed my bank account and combined with my husbands. I was so relieved to not have to pay every month for something I wasn't using - the total of several hundred dollars lost. Here is the topper. I received a letter yesterday and they sent me to collection. I had no choice but to pay the balance due of $121.96 so it didn't affect our credit. I am going to notify the BBB and look into a small claim suit. I know this happens a lot and it's not okay!!!! read more

Canceling is a total nightmare! Called to end my membership, told to do it online. Online, they demand a 30-day notice. Now, the online system wants to slap me with the next annual fee. I'd give this place 5 stars if I could, due to their size and offerings that other 19 locations don't have and the friendliness of the staff, but unfortunately, they have one major issue. There is a trainer named Jose, who can be easily recognized by the same oversized black sweater he wears every day and the signature scowl and glare behind his foggy glasses, in addition to being much older than the other workers there. Jose is very reluctant and slow to comply to member requests such as turning on the massage chairs. He also never has a good attitude towards most members, and is more than willing to trash talk members such as myself and my buddy Chandler D for no good reason. If you make a small honest mistake, such as accidentally forgetting to re-rack a single plate, he would chew you out and proceed to stare out you for the rest of your workout as long as you're in his field of view. When I asked a worker at the front desk about him, that worker was more than willing to throw him under the bus. He told me that Jose has more seniority as a trainer who has been there a while so he may have some leeway in terms of his negative behavior, but encouraged me to write Jose up or talk about him to his manager, Josh, since Jose has had numerous similar incidents in the past. Now I would totally understand if his behavior and negativity was a one or two-time thing, since bad days do happen, or if it was only directed at just me. However, if numerous other members besides me and Chandler are unhappy with him as well, in addition to his own co-worker being willing to point out that he has had "incidents" with others in the past and encouraging me to write him up or report him to Josh, maybe this gym should think about taking steps to address Jose's issues or to consider whether or not Jose is still a good fit for Fitness 19 despite his experience. read more

Tommie is the man. I saw how he was teaching his student (with special needs) and had to mention the care, patience and passion he had. A lot of people will downplay fitness 19 for being a less expensive gym but the higher cost ones doesn't mean quality and the staff in this fitness19 facility is something you can't put a price on. 7 months past due for reviewing my local gym, but for good reason! I literally come here every other day after work and I've never had to wait in line for any of the treadmills! Occasionally, I do have to wait for some of the machines (but I wander around other machines and workout). I first tried this gym out for a week (there was a promo coupon during the summer for first time gym users) and afterwards, I just signed up for a 3 year deal for $300 with no initiation fee for multi-gym use. That was less than half of what I used to pay at LA Fitness (in Los Angeles) for 3 years! This gym is smaller than other gyms I've been to, but it's got everything I need - cardio machines, free weights, barbells, stetching mats, and cables. I still haven't gone to any of the classes, but the Bollywood dancing classes sound pretty cool! Another great part of this gym is that the free weights are always re-racked and re-racked correctly. I don't have to go scouring far and high for a 15 pound weight because it's usually where it's supposed to be. The bathrooms and locker room is pretty clean as well. I've never encountered strange messes or weird smells, so that's always a plus. The only grudge I have against the layout of this gym is that the treadmills are literally placed right in front of the windows, so it's pretty hard to watch anything on the TV screens unless you're on one of the 3 treadmills facing the mirror in which case you can catch a glimpse of the reflection of the TVs. Otherwise, this is a great local gym in Livermore! read more

I feel so welcomed and safe here. I first visited another local Fitness 19 and to my dismay many were not wearing masks and they were not enforcing the rules. I called and talked to Jake the manager at another fitness 19 location and expressed some of my concerns. He offered to give me a tour and discuss his policies to keep his members safe. He really cares. I did sign up and have been very happy. Cauy the trainer was awesome. Yes he wants to sell you training sessions because it's his job to do so. I politely said no thank you to his training offers. He showed me some of the equipment and settings best suited for me. He even spotted me using the weight machine incorrectly and gave me some tips. Make sure you try the hydro massage lounges. One last note: They play a great blend of music for all tastes. I like that. read more

Really needing to sign up for a gym after dropping 24 Hour Fitness, because they wouldn't honor my lifetime grandfather clause and doubled my dues. Was seriously thinking of this gym, since it's so close to where I live, but very concerned about reading several reviews of people having problems canceling their contracts, especially the one where the member moved out of the area and was told she needed to show proof that she moved. That is incredibly concerning and should not have even been a factor in them wanting to end their membership. Others where people had cancelled several times online and was still getting charged, then they closed their bank account once she got married to open an account with her husband, and Fitness 19 sent her case to collections, so she wound up paying it to not ruin her credit. This just feels like more of the same with what 24 Hour Fitness does. Is there any good gyms in Livermore that don't charge huge member prices that are honest and clean? Air quality is bad as COVID is around. No a/c inside its gym during winter. Restroom is dirty since no one cleans it frequently. Membership still required but no Zoom classes were offered. It happened at Dublin and Livermore branches. read more
