Joining Life Time has been one of the best decisions our family has made…read more Like many busy professionals, I had built a great home gym over the years. What I didn't realize I was missing was the energy that comes from being surrounded by people pursuing health, wellness, growth, and recovery. What sets Life Time apart is that it isn't just a gym. It's an ecosystem built around helping people become the healthiest version of themselves. One day I may run laps on the indoor track. Another day I may focus on strength training, core work, boxing, stretching, or recovery. There are machines and training areas for every fitness level and every goal imaginable. Treadmills, weights, functional fitness spaces, recovery tools, massage chairs, stretching equipment, steam rooms, hot tubs, infrared saunas, traditional saunas, cold recovery spaces, and more. And yes, there are televisions everywhere filled with sports. Lots and lots of sports. The atmosphere is contagious. You are surrounded by people investing in themselves, challenging themselves, and pursuing healthier lives. One of the lessons I recently wrote about in my article Dynamic Stretch + Recovery is that growth doesn't happen during the workout alone. Growth happens in the recovery. Muscles strengthen when they are challenged and then given time to rebuild. The same is true in life. The best leaders understand this. The healthiest people understand this. Strong performance requires intentional recovery. Life Time has reminded me of that truth. For me, the traditional sauna has become a favorite place to reflect, pray, recover, and simply be still. It is often in those quiet moments that I find clarity, gratitude, and perspective. What has surprised me most is how much our entire family loves it. My daughter is having a blast with the pools, water slides, and activities. The outdoor beach club atmosphere, music, and weekend events make it feel more like a resort than a gym. My husband has found a place to exercise, stay active, and invest in his health as well. We joined thinking we were purchasing a fitness membership. What we found was community, family experiences, wellness, recovery, inspiration, and joy. In a world that constantly tells us to do more, Life Time reminds us that our health, our families, and our well-being are worth investing in too. Grateful we made the decision.

As someone who loves doing Solidcore and other group fitness classes, I was excited about trying out F45 today. We chose this particular location because of the location and I wanted to see if this would be something I could add into my weekly routine and possibly get a membership. My in-laws who are long time members in Houston for the last 9 years have talked about it and really advocated for it being the best workout gym for the longest time, so we jumped on it and signed up. Unfortunately, my father in-law's app was not able to work but he was able to book my mother-in law on her app. As a family who has a background in hospitality, sales, and healthcare and have been in these different fields for many years, we were very disappointed with our first 5 minutes of interaction. We understand the type of attitude and people who can keep a business successful and will drive clients back into the studio. When we first entered into the building and told the front desk it was my husband and I's first time ever in an f45 studio, the front desk associate was not welcoming whatsoever. She was abrupt and had a very dry personality. We filled out our waivers and waited for my father in-law to come in from parking the car. My father in-law explained the situation and she was not empathetic or accommodating. I do get it rules are rules. It was an app issue. However, it could have been handled differently. It was the combination of her attitude and not being able to be empathic which was our biggest disappointment. An alternative way that could have been addressed would be like "I am sorry you went through that. Unfortunately, it was an app issue and we do have a policy here. Here is a solution..." We would have been like okay we get it. Things happen. Lastly, you are the first person, a client sees when they enter your business. You have to act like you want our business. I am not the type to write reviews to bring down someone's business, but it was such a big disappointment.

Toilet paper is not always available, the place smells, and it's often either too hot in summer or too cold in winter. Much of the equipment is really old and when needed repairs are noted, they seem to take far too long to get fixed. They show no customer loyalty, even to customers who have been long-standing members.

At a residence, that can usually be fixed in a day. At a gym, where hundreds of people are using it constantly, it should be fixed in a matter of hours. If they get around to that, they may also want to replace the mildew-covered shower curtains, that should cost a few dollars. Yesterday, when I went there, there had clearly been no janitor the night before and the locker room was wretched. LA Fitness really lets their clubs deteriorate and obviously no one inspects gyms or most of theirs would be closed. I drive across town to go to this one because most of the LA Finesses from Buckhead to the South Perimeter of the city (which have a pool) are rotting. I'm still a member because it's a national company and I am out of town for part of the year, so it's convenient to go in more than one state. My daughter recently joined, but thankfully doesn't use the locker rooms. They closed the popular LA Fitness in Brookhaven, which was shockingly well maintained. Notice, I am still giving this club three stars, as it's better than most of them.

Motivational, Inspirational, and her enthusism helped me get thru the class. not to mention the other class members were so into it, that really drove me to do better. Walking in, i didnt know what to expect because this was my first shot at cycing classes, i was more used to pilates, fitness, and yoga but since my fellow yelper wanted to go i was like sure! first time for everything with a friend- GOOD CALL! The staff, every single one was so welcoming and helpful. i truly felt at home. i am def coming back, this is going to be one of my spots moving forward.

The fellow yelper who went with me said after that it felt like a Saturday night club vibe. If any of that sounds like your jam, check this place out! The space is nice (will get more photos next time), clean, and spacious. I forgot to ask, but don't think the studio has been there long. The bathroom has showers and is spacious and clean. There are easy to use lockers to secure your things. There are a lot of bikes packed into the studio room, but it didn't feel crowded when riding, even during a full class. They provide a sweat towel and shoes for the bikes, and give you a free water bottle to take home after your first class! The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. I felt like they were happy to have me there. And even though there were a lot of people in attendance, I felt they gave me the individualized attention I needed to get set up. The girl who worked the counter adjusted the bike for my size, and explained how to work the resistance settings. I do, however, wish they explained more about the instructions the coach / instructor would be giving during class -- for example, the different positions on the bike (first, second, third) I had to learn by watching the instructor and/or other participants in the class. I would have liked to know what all the instructions meant before I heard them during the class. Carlee was great. I don't know how she keeps that big energy going so long! Lol. There was more cussing than I was expecting.. but I cuss a lot myself so I can handle it -- it just caught me off guard. I would go back to another of her classes if I do go back. This studio allows students from ClassPass, so if you are a ClassPass member and interested, look them up on there. They also said the first class with them (sans ClassPass) is free! I don't know if studio cycling is for me. I'm just getting back into working out after spinal fusion surgery last year, so I may not have been quite ready for this much intensity, but I will likely try it again!
