I absolutely love this gym! I'm here anywhere from 3-6 times a week, depending on my schedule. I take full advantage of what they offer--personal training once a week, small classes at least twice, and I hit the MMA area about once a week. I also utilize all the equipment and areas available with my membership, and it's been such a positive experience. The staff here are incredible. I've seen reviews claiming they're "rude," but honestly, I have no idea what those people are talking about. Every staff member I've interacted with has been friendly, helpful, and genuinely invested in seeing people succeed and achieve their goals. For anyone bringing guests, just know that the first time they visit, they'll need to sign liability forms--which makes total sense to me. The gym has no way of knowing if someone might hurt themselves, and it's standard practice (or should be). This gym has truly helped turn my life around, and the encouraging, supportive staff are a huge part of that. The hours are great, lots of equipment and machines. It's the cleanliness that needs major improvement. The air vents are clogged with filth and it has been like this for years. It takes forever to have something fixed. Tanning has been broken for months. It's such a nice gym so it's sad to see it's not being kept clean for its employees and customers. read more

I accidentally left my headphones there after a workout. I had called once I realized they were still there and asked if they could set them aside for me and I would be in ASAP to pick them up. The woman on the phone said of course and she would set them aside for me. When I went to pick them up, I was informed that they gave them away. When I asked the employee to reach out to staff and ask if they could locate them he shut me down and told me I needed to come in quicker, and it's part of leaving stuff at the gym. read more

I've tried to cancel my membership multiple times but I've been charged for MONTHS! Total scam, going to have to call my card company. Tried to call back after one of my cancel attempts, and the person who answered said they can't help me cancel! Why make it so hard? I live way to far to even come out to this gym now. read more

The "daycare" there is a JOKE! They charge you $50 a month for the absolute BARE MINIMUM! Went to take my daughter and the lady walked out with the meanest look on her face, no smile, no greeting. All she said was that she wasn't qualified to work with infants. My daughter is almost a year and a half, not an infant. She said she isn't CPR certified and there are better "teachers" who are more qualified. Then when I asked her if they clean down the toys every night she said "that's not my job to clean. I'm not sure if they do or not" then proceeds to tell me that when she walked in that morning that the floors weren't vacuumed and everything was dusty. I immediately walked out and felt so disrespected by how rude she was when talking to me and so baffled and grossed out at the fact that they don't clean anything. If it's not your job to clean up after the children, then what is your job?! I am so thoroughly disappointed and unimpressed. Madalene Aponte is the best personal trainer / group exercises instructor that I ever had! Every time I go to Washington I MUST visit wherever she at to take her classes! This gym is so lucky to have her!!! I strongly recommend to go to this gym and take her classes and if she offers personal training then she is the one! Fitness Quest Puyallup is great. They have all of the equipment I like to use and it is not too big. It does get crowded after 3pm. Very crowded, but I changed my times and found a great group of regulars. Friendly workers. read more

Updating to a 3 because staff reached out to me after seeing my review and were able to send through the refund. I appreciate that they made it right, but it took too much work to get back the fee that shouldn't have been charged. Original: Predatory practices. I canceled my membership 12 days prior to the yearly maintenance fee as my situation has changed and they are pretty far out of my way now. They still charged the yearly maintenance fee and claimed they couldn't do anything about it and wouldn't refund me. So I just paid another year's maintenance fee when I had already canceled my membership. Pretty cool. read more

Best gym around! Great hours now. Exceptionally clean. Coffee next door. The sauna is the cleanest in Puyallup. With the updated hours the gym has been way less crowded (I once wrote a bad review for). Best price for a clean gym with hydro massage chairs which is a a life changer. I have 0 complaints which is rare. read more

The classes are great, there are many weight machines but I don't understand why there is a lack of air conditioning, especially in the women's side- there is no reason why extra giant fans are no where to be seen (except 1) The air is also out in the main gym now and it's excruciatingly hot! Why invest in a gym and not put in adequate cooling is beyond me! read more

Joining Fitness Quest in University Place was an absolutely horible experience. I joined in January and was told that by March they would have everything up and running. Here we are at the end of May and it still doesnt have the MMA side of the facility set up, along with many of the other ammenities promised. I was also told that i would be getting 3 $50 gift cards for 3 refferals i got to sign up and i have yet to recieve them. The worst part and ultimately what led to me cancelling my membership was that i was told there were no annual fees when i signed up. At the end of last month i was charged $107 twice for the 2 memberships on my account, for what i was told is an annual fee. Instead of offering to honor their word and waive it for at least this year i was told there was nothing they could do to waive the fee. Do yourself a favor, avoid this gym and find one that actually delivers on it's promises. Find one that doesnt over promise or outright lie just to get you to join. read more

I signed up online, and had never actually been here before. When arriving, I wasn't greeted by anyone and actually had to hunt someone down to finish setting up my account. At the beginning of March, I had a lot of health issues arise, and I called to cancel my membership sometime around the middle of April. The girl on the phone said that she would take care of everything after taking my name and phone number. I should have known that it was BS from that point, as I've cancelled gym memberships before to switch to other gyms and they all make you physically come in. It's now the beginning of May, and I was just charged $150 for April, May, an annual fee (I activated my membership in February so I'm not sure what the policy with that is), and a late fee? I stopped using that account as my medical bills had become too expensive, but I recently got a deposit in that account so I redownloaded the banking app and I got the notification a couple days later. When I called, I was told that if I didn't have any evidence of the call (a name, paperwork, etc.) then they couldn't give me the $150 back. I completely understand that their point, you can't just give a refund to every person who calls and complains, but I was misinformed. If I had known I had to come in to sign paperwork, I would have. If I could afford to keep my membership, I would have. I'm not sure if this is just one employee giving terrible customer service or the company as a whole. I was on the verge of tears all day because I did not have $150 to spare. Given that I've only used the membership 3 times since February when I opened it, this feels a lot like a scam. I've worked in customer service before, and I'm trying really hard to be empathetic right now but it's pretty hard. Hope this helps someone. read more

I joined FQ in Feb of 2022. I paid for a year in advance. After attending this gym, I found that I was bringing in my own exercise equipment. I told the employees that being a senior citizen, I found the floors very hard to lie on when doing floor exercise and that us older folks do have some problems with getting up off the floor as well. I suggested that they get an elevated, padded platform for us. I also noticed that they did not have any ankle weights which I also recommended that they have available. I found myself bring my own padded mat and ankle weights. They told me that they have a annual fee for equipment so would wonder why these items were not considered. I was unhappy with these things so I discontinued going. I recently got a bill from them for a months membership and equipment fee. My year membership was up in Feb. 2022. I was not billed for any membership fee until this month. I called and was told that I needed to give them 30 days notice of cancelling my membership and that they did cancel it upon my call. However, they said that they would not be able to remove the monthly membership fee, or the equipment fee as once it was posted, they could not remove it. I told them that I had only authorized a single payment for a years membership and nothing else. I also pointed out that I had not received a bill for monthly membership for the months of Mar., April and if I had, I would have investigated the issue sooner and avoided these charges. I would recommend that any member or potential member, monitor there charges as I don't believe that they are on top of their billing. Please see Amanda B.s rating of 11-22. If I could give this gym 0 stars I would. We joined this gym and decided before the first month was out that we preferred another gym in Puyallup. The main issue we had is with one of the owner/trainers. He is always disorganized and confused about what time and day he scheduled us. In addition, he called the day after we first joined and asked if he could reschedule our missed appointment. There were a few more red flags. I'll share this one...the gym sells supplements from Univera, but Univera is a mlm company that one of the owners is a consultant for. The supplements are very pricey. I decided to try a product for joint pain for my daughter and was misquoted initial cost. In addition, once I purchased my products I found myself signed up as a monthly recurring plan customer. I quickly contacted the Univera company and canceled that membership. We decided to cancel with the gym 5 days prior to the end of our initial month. We paid them for a sign on, first month, and last month. They require a 30 day cancellation in writing. We delivered, they acknowledged, then they charged us anyway. The explanation was that it takes 30 days to cancel auto draft. We understood, but are still due a refund because we have more than a 30 day notice. The owner was practically making fun of us on the fun and told us we are not due anything back and to reread the contract. I explained that we did read it and his explanation is contradictory to his 30 day policy. He was unwilling to listen and directed us to only email his sister who will review it, but we are wrong. This is very bad business. We are an Active Duty Army family...they talked a lot at sign up about family, etc. ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS THE DOLLAR. They act like it's a library against real work outs.I went to blow my nose and left my gym bag on my machine and a worker took it off and started doing personal training with someone and said I was gone for a long time.Workers make me feel like they racist I only gotten in trouble by the black workers once for failing a 365 squat at full death and letting it go onto the safety bars. IF I WANTED TO GET YELLED AT FOR WEIGHTS SLAMING ID HAVE JOINED PLANET FITNESS.The second time I was just trying to practice carrying rebar with 85 on the turf and got told I can't do it there and I gotta go to a squat rack; How am I gonna walk from squat rack to rack for 30 minutes. Even though it's empty and it's not like ima crack the turf floor with rubber weights. The workers slam weights when doing they're workout and no one cares but if I do something small I take the ear beating.L gym not meant for powerlifting or and actually lifting you'll set off the workers mental lunk alarm. Only thing I like about this gym that I can say are a few people who no longer work here and there bathrooms.2/10 only recommend for people coming to do cardio that's all they really got. read more
