Unfortunately though, I have had more negative interactions with the owner than positive. Steve has an overly cynical attitude, which can be hilarious at times, but is just a little too negative. This is not a big deal for those not looking to be a part of a community, but there are other gyms that have a much more positive atmosphere, which may be important to you. A friend had convinced me to try out a class here with her and see what I thought. I have high anxiety in gyms where I feel extremely inadequate and as though I can't keep up with those around me. This gym however made being the new girl easy. The members and coaches here are so warm and welcoming and they all truly care about each other. There are members of all ages and abilities that are so supportive of their fellow members, cheering them on and motivating them every day. The coaches take the time to get to know their members on a personal level to learn how to best motivate you and help you succeed. Whether you are looking for competitions or just a more casual way to stay in shape, this gym is perfect. The coaches are well educated and make sure members are working out safely and to their full potential. They are also great resources when it comes to proper nutrition and stress the importance of good nutrition. Keith and Beth, the owners, have such kind hearts and go out of their way to help and support their members beyond the gym. The term family easily comes to mind when thinking about DHCF. Having been here just under a year I have definitely seen more personal results than I ever have at those gyms that are more concerned with stuffing your face full of pizza and bagels. They aren't some greedy corporate business looking to take every penny from you. It's a family run business that look to provide the best services for you. When I was inquiring about a membership, they guy didn't try to sell me on it at all. He just went over what they offer and gave me everything I needed and told me that I could go home and think about it and just to come back if I was interested or to call if I had any further questions. I went back the next morning and there was a different guy working the counter. He was a riot. He walked me through the gym again like I requested and he was just a total hoot. He really made me feel welcome. I was very impressed by how family oriented this place felt. The workers knew the members names when they walked in. Everyone got an acknowledgement. I really like the feel for this place. They don't have annual fees or start up fees for their membership. I chose PE fitness studio because it had the ambiance I wanted, a comfortable setting to work out that was a typical gym. They host small group classes and one on ones, so you won't catch some creep in a machine in the corner slowly moving while staring at you. Perfect. Not looking to go to a gym. I need someone to motivate me to not quit and just sit there. Laurel suggested we start with 20 half hour sessions with me and my fiancé. I couldn't commit so I agreed on 15 but will definitely be buying more. She motivates me by chatting me up about my favorite topics to get me forget about the agonizing pain in my butt as I squat across the room. You think 30 mins isn't a lot, but when you mix in cardio and the deathly push ups, trust me, it is. Laurel is a sweetheart and doesn't let me quit! The other day she threatened me with burpees if I tried to cheat on my across the room squats, aka I ran halfway across the room when she wasn't looking! Laurel is a sweetheart and soooooo flexible with scheduling. I 100% suggest one on one training with her. It's pricier than a gym but let's be honest, you weren't going to the gym. You're less likely to cancel when you have a wonderful sweet woman waiting on you!!! Did I mention she has an adorable pit bull puppy and she texts me photos of him all the time??? Because she does! I had a wonderful pregnancy and by weight gain was really post-partum as I had a C-Section, nursed -'d had my child in the dead of winter. Yes, I know this all sounds like excuses...I reached out to my former trainer Manny and he said he was at DTC full time. I scheduled a consultation with him to check out the place and get more info. Located across from St. Anthony's on Mineral Spring, very clean, lots of high end equipment (they have a Jacob's Ladder torture device) and it's just clients and their trainer. I do belong to my local Planet Fitness and know a bunch of machine/dumbbell/body weight workouts but I am no expert in pairing them, knowing which weights to start and proceed to, etc. these guys do all that thinking for you - but at the same time, ensure you understand them and are educated so that you can do them on your own. The packages seem pricey but when you figure the 1:1 time for an hour each week along with the app and the nutrition meal plans, it really is worth it. The more sessions you buy upfront, the more the prices drop per session. They also have a great protein shake bar, my favorite is peanut butter/chocolate/coffee. Those aren't included however you can buy a shake card so you just get it stamped each visit. They do have complimentary waters though! And should you wish to get some spa treatments, that's there as well! I have yet to indulge! The place is great, people are nice, it's not a gym with any specific type of people - I've seen clients in all sizes and ages. The trainers all seem great and have different styles. I'm not quite at my goals yet and a lot of that is a lifestyle change for me which I'm chipping away at, but if you are looking to make a change in your life - check this place out!

The only thing I have ever complained about are the smelly nasty sanitizing wipes members are meant to use to wipe down the equipment. UPDATE: HE REPLACED THEM AND NOW WE SMELLING AMAZING. A++. The owner is around regularly and he is always observed cleaning the facility and machines. I'm pretty independent as a gym goer when I'm training, so I can't speak to anything about personal trainers or whatever else is offered.
