Caylie takes excellent care of me when I come for service! Today is my oil change, and anything else that's needed for my 2021 Sonata. It's my 2nd Sonata, & I bought both here. The service is great, and I appreciate the $70 credit each six months. I also appreciate the complimentary car wash when the service is completed. The employees are always friendly, competent, and efficient. By the way, the complimentary water and hot beverages are nice, as are the donuts. The waiting room has comfortable seating, and the TV always has something interesting on - not political, thank you very much! I have purchased three new Hyundais from Fitzgerald over the years and fully expected my fourth purchase would also be from this dealership. After several days of phone calls and emails encouraging me to come in, the dealership prepared a written proposal for a new 2026 Hyundai Elantra SE with my 2012 Elantra Touring in trade. The agreed out-the-door price was $19,993.46, and my wife and I came to the dealership on July 4 fully intending to complete the purchase. After spending considerable time completing paperwork, the deal was stopped at the last minute because the illumination for my odometer display had become intermittent. The odometer itself still records mileage correctly (approximately 51,500 miles), but because the display was not illuminated at that moment, I was told the dealership could not verify the mileage electronically and therefore could not accept the trade. I was even told that, for all they knew, the car could actually have 150,000 miles. Since then, I have spoken with Hyundai technicians at other dealerships, as well as members of Fitzgerald's own service department. All advised that vehicle mileage can generally be retrieved electronically using Hyundai's diagnostic equipment, depending on the vehicle, and Fitzgerald's service department even invited me to bring the car in for that purpose. What disappointed me wasn't simply that a problem arose. It was that after aggressively pursuing my business and preparing a complete purchase proposal, the dealership showed little interest in exploring a reasonable solution before canceling the transaction. I later purchased the same 2026 Elantra SE from Hyundai of New Port Richey for $19,499.80 out the door--nearly $500 less than Fitzgerald's proposal--and the odometer issue was not treated as an obstacle. I also wrote to Fitzgerald's General Manager describing my experience and asking whether the dealership wished to revisit the transaction. I received no response. I have been buying cars from them since 1998. Referred people to them. Swore by them. Now, I'm swearing AT them. I had been losing oil in my car. Took it in back in April for a burn test, and passed. It's now August, I've lost 5 quarts of oil, bring it in for a regularly scheduled oil change and lo and behold! A cracked oil pan. Cracked RIGHT AT THE PLUG!!! Somehow, this is my fault and I have to pay for it?!? Drivetrain warranty that should have fixed it won't because it is a used car and the awesome 10 year/100k mile warranty is only if you buy the car new, and because the Drivetrain warranty will not cover the part, the Extended Warranty from Zurich (that they sold me for several thousand dollars when I bought the car ) will not cover it because it is supposed to be covered by the Drivetrain warranty. But, in an effort to be reasonable, management said if we bought the part (for $267), they will install it for free. So they can mess it up again!?! And then they give me 2 vouchers a year worth $70 each for Use towards synthetic oil changes, yet still insist I come in every 3mo/3000 miles? What's up with that? read more

First visit since moving to Florida from California. This dealership ran circles around the Stevens Creek Hyundai dealership. Peyton was my service rep and she was awesome while there waiting as well as keeping informed of a creaking sound that the SC Hyundai shop ignored and this dealership stuck with it until the very obscure cause was located and fixed. When Fitzgerald did the oil change, they indicated it was probably over due by a year, so that told me the SC dealership didn't do the oil change though indicating it was done in the service records. Also like the video recap of what was discovered by the technician and recommended changes. That was a new experience! Overall very satisfied with the experience! read more

We bought our Hyundai Santa Cruz in New Port Richey. Had our services done according to maintenance schedule. We only have 6k miles in 2 years. They would not do a full service bcuz of that even tho we have to in order to keep warranty legit. Started going to the one on countryside and wow what a difference! I get videos, texts of what they did and any problems. ALL the customer service care is above standard. Bryce was always in contact to make sure I was satisfied and he made sure I got a ride home and a ride back to pick up my truck! So much better at this dealership by far. Bought multiple cars here. Kept coming back for service even when a couple of those visits were more aggravating than they should have been. Came back one more time for a used Ioniq 6 SEL they had listed as CPO on their own website. That's the last time. Spent a Sunday afternoon working toward a deal. It collapsed when the sales team told me the car wasn't actually CPO and insisted the 10-year/100K EV battery warranty would not transfer to me -- then tried to sell me a $3,500 third-party warranty as the fix. I knew something was wrong, left, called national Hyundai, looked it up myself. The battery and all EV components transfer fully at 10yr/100K to every subsequent owner. I was right. They were wrong. Monday the manager tried to reach me but couldn't get through -- curious, since the sales guy had no trouble texting me throughout the day. I reached the manager myself at 7:40pm. He confirmed I'd been right the whole time, apologized, said he was fixing it internally. Car was still there. I offered to come in right then -- four miles away. He said tomorrow, I said I'd be there by 2pm. Tuesday before noon: two texts I missed. Someone's looking at it. It sold. The apology came before the sale. They made no CPO offer when the deal fell apart Sunday, no deposit request offered Monday night, no call Tuesday morning. Just two texts and a done deal -- probably an easy one, now that they had the warranty information I'd corrected them on. Found the same car at another dealer and bought it the same day with no Certified Pre-Own switcheroo, no last line fee additions and no attempt to sell me a 3rd party warranty when the manufacturer warranty was still in place. read more

My 2010 Hyundai Genesis was at Fitzgerald's Countryside Automall, Hyundai, for replacement of electronic control module. I was advised my brake master cylinder needed to be replaced. I paid $975.77. for this service. Invoice states 'test drove vehicle & verified brakes operating as designed.' I have had this car 14+ years and brakes were never this hard to depress. Recently took my car for service at another shop and was advised brakes are dangerous. This repair shop found 'new master cylinder previously installed by another repair shop, Fitzgerald Countryside Automall Hyundai, separate master cylinder from power booster, O-Ring missing causing vacuum leak requires new O-Ring. I was also told this was expensive, $975.77, for the work done. I have purchased 3 new cars from Fitzgerald. I was ready to buy a 4th but I had issues with my 2015 Elantra, which I was planning to keep. My power steering went out on US19. It is intermittent. They refused to do the recall on the power steering which is only a software update. They stated that the recall is VIN specific. Well, that doesn't change that the car does exactly the problem of the recall. They wanted to charge me $220 to see what needs to be fixed and then charge me to do the recall software update. Brought the car back, salesman said "he wont take it back unless we bought the other car from them" I know the laws on that #1 i had a paper i signed saying i had a certain amnt of hrs to return it and#2 my parents have a used carlot for 25+ yrs(we wntd new or wlda got from them)Salesman then strted SCREAMING top of his lungs in the offic for abt 20min, face beet red. No mgr came in to see why their slsman was yelling abt not taking the car back. Nothing. The only rsn I dealt w/it was they had the color car i wanted and PR didnt.They matched the PR price and we settled up. Aftr 1yr i started hearing creaking when pulling in driveway, mentioned at OilChng, they cldnt replicate. ^mth later I mentioned again during OC , same outcome. Very unprofessional staff and very rude. Took our car there that only has 13,000 miles on it because it would not go above 30 mph and over heating. They said they tested it and told us we needed brand new tires at $1500 and did nothing to fix the problem, my son had to have it towed on his way to work the next morning, after the manager stated she drove it and it seemed fine. All of the service people are standing around talking and laughing and not helping customers others had warned us about this service department, but we had no choice but to go there. read more

I have a 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz which I purchased at New Port Richey hyundai..a great dealership by teh way. I have had it for 6 months and it has 780 miles on it now. I have the Activity Package which incluydes a roof crossbars. The other day I noticed one of teh decorativ end caps on one end of a crossbar was missing. These are factory/dealership installed. I scheduled a service appointment to get it replaced as it was part of the sale and I was told it should be under warrenty. I brought it into the dealership for my 11:15 appointmkent and I was checked in by a girl there. I am a disabled combat veteran and a 30 year firefighter. I have a Service Dog who is trained. We waited for three hours there. I finally got up and went back to the girl and was told by here that she could not find me becuase she didnt know what I looked like even though I have a Service Dog and she had signed us in!~. She said they cant replace just an end cap and I would be responable for buying a whole new set of cross bars for closs to $400 with another 4150 to install them. A true rip off. How she could not find me I have no idea as Itold her I would be sitting right over there and watching the bigscreen tv..hard to miss. Terrible customer service..no service actually. The truck is under warrenty and I purchased the activity package and the cross bars are part of that package and should be under warrenty. I can buy a new set of lockable crossbars for my truck on Amazon for $79 with free shipping!!!! Fritzgeralds is a true rip off with terrible service. We have a 2012 Tucson Limited that we rarely drive. Took it out a couple of weeks ago just to give it some exercise and observed that the sunroof opened and closed very slow. Decided to take it to the dealer as we purchased with the car an extended warranty. The service center determined that the entire sunroof assemble needed to be replaced at a cost of over $5,000. They also informed us that our 10 year 100,000 warranty (presently 70,000) had expired as the 10 years was based on the in-service date and not the date we purchased the car. I didn't want to spend $5000 for a sunroof I really didn't use so I declined the repair. I later took the car to a local repairman for an oil change and told him about my experience with Fitzgerald. He work on the sunroof for maybe 5 minutes. It needed some lubrication due to lack of use. I now works fine - no charge. In my opinion these people are cheats. Govern yourself accordingly. read more

Two hours to recently one hour and twenty minutes - FOR AN OIL CHANGE? I had no outstanding issues that required attention. Today I received an email from their General Sales Manager extolling their new vehicles and offering. To consider the average rise in purchasing (23%) I will be passing on a new one. I will also pass on future servicing needs and go to Crown Hyundai in St. Petersburg. And while there I will have them handle the change in lease ownership and keep the Sante Fe. I have read a lot of other customer complaints and Fitzgeralds dealership is losing another customer. read more

My trunk latch broke and it rains for the next few days . I run over to the dealer where I bought the vehicle hoping to be squeezed in since it was an unplanned need to visit. The term customer service is a joke there. Said they could work me in .. two weeks from now with an appointment. They claim they are overbooked and would not even look at the car . Was not pleased to say the least because that has never happened when I needed help with my Chevy truck. Then a guy steps up - brand new car from Orlando with less than 300 miles saying indicator lights came on. Their response was to say sorry we are booked. Now we all know that Autozone will pull out the device to read indicator lights and reassure people . Would these people do this ?? NO! So at the service desk I approach again to ask how much the part is for my broken trunk . They continue their leaning and chatting while telling me I would have to walk over to the parts department - in the rain - to find out. Apparently the "service " department can't do anything other than stay at their desks and field appointments and turn people away. I was looking for a new Hyundai and got special pricing through my credit union. They reached out to me and informed that the vehicle was in transit and would not arrive for approximately 2 weeks. I asked my sales consultant about putting a deposit down and was told it would cost $2000 and I would have to fill out a credit app. The vehicle is a brand new model and I am not 100% sure without test driving it first, if it is the right vehicle for me. First off, I am not sure if I want to finance the vehicle, and if I do, I am not sure if I will use their financing as my credit union has great rates, secondly I will not need to put $2000 dollars down as my trade in has $15,000 in equity towards the down payment, and I have great credit and money down will not be needed, also I really don't want a hit on my credit report at this time. I was trying to negotiate a smaller down payment (I could only image how long it would take to get a refund if I decided the vehicle was not for me) and my sales person informed me that that is how it works and there is no flexibility. Then she proceeded to tell me that I live too far (80 miles), and due to that fact they would not allow me to even put a down payment on the vehicle because I wasn't located close enough to the dealership, I then asked what the sales radius was and she did not know. I asked to have the sales manager call me so I could get a better idea of what all of this is about but he would not call. I also tried calling the General Manager, Eric Coffee, and got his voice mail. I have purchased probably more than 20 cars in the last 20 years or so, and have never heard of such nonsense. The crazy thing about the car situation now is there are so few cars, you have to drive a greater distance to purchase the model or color or the options you want. This car shortage will not last forever, and soon they will be begging us consumers to drive a few minutes longer for a better deal. Good, honest, and fair businesses are getting harder and harder to find. This review is only my experience, I hope others have a more seamless and pleasant experience with this dealership, I really wanted a great experience, but from the looks of it, it's not in the cards. i was there for 7 hours to get one tire changed i didn't bother i asked maybe 2 times total in the 7 hours and watched multiple people come in and go out. one lady i made friends with even got 2 tires replaced but got here after me and left before. It seems as though you're treated differently here. It's very strange, the staff are so nice. One person in particular stands out. Megan Parker has consistently gone above and beyond to help us, give us estimated timeframes, and just come by for no reason but to see how we are and if she could get us something while we waited for service. Just a few days ago, my wife had taken in the car while I took our son to see his grandmother. Now, I know that my wife would rather be around friends and family but this needed to get done. After, my wife said how good she was and actually made the wait enjoyable. Anyone that makes my wife happy has my respect and gratitude. I wish I could end it there, but there was one person I personally had an issue with...as well as my wife. They say that first impressions are everything. Well, about 4 or 5 months ago I pulled up under the portico as requested. There was this woman that had such an awful demeanor and so rude I really wanted to say something. After thinking about it, I had no idea what was going on in her life. I gave her the pass. Once my wife mentioned it, other people started mentioning the woman outside. You all have a great company, however you may want to have a talk with this girl. If memory serves me right, she had multicolored hair.
