We had a reservation for 29 on Friday for lunch. So yes, you heard that right - a reservation for 29 so they knew we were coming. After we were all seated, our waitress, Red, announced that because she was the only waitress working the entire dining room (wait, what?) we could absolutely NOT have separate checks but it would all have to be on one check. Our orders were taken and our food was delivered quickly and efficiently by Red and (I'm guessing) the bartender and the cook that chipped in. The food was delicious and the salad bar was top notch. I would hope that if we choose to return, we will be told in advance that we can not have separate checks. When we finished our luncheon, there was one other person in the dining room so I guess I don't understand why separate checks couldn't have been arranged. read more

Service was great! Ambiance was fun! (Flies were abundant...the fly strip in the corner was PACKED.) The idea of a salad bar was fun, but half the items were empty and had pieces of neighboring bits in them. We went on a Saturday night and both of us ordered their special, Prime Rib. We both had two pieces on our plates, which we guessed was so that they could get the weights correct....but no other restaurant has done this before. The meat temp looked like it was right when it was served, but within a moment it turned from pink to brown and we both thought it was also oddly dry. The veggies were very, very cooked and the hash browns were just barely browned and the cheese on top hadn't even been melted. We decided the next visit we'd stick to ordering items like the hot wings and cold beers. The Bloody Mary and old fashioned were very, very good! UPDATE: Since visiting Fritz's, I have asked a few people who have eaten there how they felt about their experiences. Why buy a restaurant that is a booming business and change everything good about it? Was always the place to go on Friday but very popular every day of the week. Has been a mainstay in the area and right on the water, everyone knew Fitz's on the lake. The place is now horrible. The food is never cooked correctly, the staff is no longer the friendly people, you no longer wait to get a table. So sad. We actually had someone at another table come to ours and ask where we were able to get napkins, my husband went upstairs and got them on his own. Food not cooked correctly, salad bar no longer fresh and never filled. so many things bad, too many to mention. The drinks are still good. read more

We came with a group of 9 which we called ahead and made reservations for. They would not sit us together until we explicitly requested it. Service was slow, and when the food came, the steaks our table ordered were undersized and served over well done on a medium rare order. We sent them back and the steaks we got in return were also overcooked. Their "shrimp scampi" was served with no noodles and their "Mac and cheese" looked like buttered noodles. To start, the outside seating was great, overlooking Lake Wisconsin. Our server was a bit confused over explaining the menu. She couldn't explain what was included in entrees we asked about. I ordered a bloody mary and it was brought to me when I was 3/4's done with my meal. I didn't accept it. I also orderd a cup of soup, which never came. I ordered the Summer Shrimp Nachos. I would not recommend this dish. 5 small shrimp on dry unseasoned chips with a small amount of pico, drizzled with bland guaq. I had to ask for more guaq and pico. There was no cheese on the nachos, I'd be ashamed to serve this appetizer. The calamari was fantastic. So were the haddock fish cakes. The Fried Cod of the senior menu was greasy. This place was on the side of a lake, as the name says. In warm weather it is fun to have dinner outside. I was there on a Saturday evening. There was a 30 minute wait to get a seat. Prime rib au jus, which was the Saturday special was my favorite item. Beer battered fish sandwich was my other item. It was good as well. Chili soup was flavorful. We have been going to Fitz's since 2002. Unfortunately it's not the same anymore. I don't know if it's because they can't get good help but they are not going to last if they continue to operate they did today. The hostess was incredibly rude when we asked for a table inside and then we felt like we were bothering the waitress when we tried to order. The service is rude and incredibly slow. There are other options around the lake now and we will be visiting them or just go to lunch by car moving forward. Sad day for Lake Wisconsin. read more

Great waterfront location for a meal, happy hour or just hanging out with friends and family. You can even boat up to their dock. Plenty of seating both inside and out. We stopped by for a late lunch/early dinner to celebrate my brother's birthday. YELP ELITE TIP: They served us the all-u-can-eat fish fry dinner early for $5 off of the menu price. I liked having the option for 1/2 fried fish and 1/2 baked. Both were good but I wished they offered perch or walleye in addition to the haddock. My brother enjoyed his bloody Mary too. Sorry, just can't give a good review. Went for lunch and sat on the patio out front face by the lake. Ordered a Reuben sandwich with fries and a turkey Reuben. Not complaining here just sharing the facts. Reuben came loaded with sauerkraut piled high, a slice of cheese and very little corned beef. In fact, one half of the sandwich had no corned beef at all. What was there was tough and in a ball. Not your typical corned beef slice. The fries were cold and appeared to have been made earlier in the day. It was an additional $3 charge for the fries. Wifey got the turkey Reuben with sauce on the side. Same story with the sauerkraut, piled high with a slice of cheese. Turkey did cover the entire sandwich but it just wasn't appealing to the eye or flavorful. Thankfully she didn't order the fries. Sorry, but not impressed with the food. Shared our dissatisfaction with our server and he comped the Reuben from the bill. Server was very accommodating and apologetic. Can't recommend Fritz's. Have been burned there a couple of times. When we came up here to celebrate my grandfather's birthday, we decided to go to Fitz's. Our waitress was kind and respectable woman who came out with our drinks right away. Our food came relatively fast, and the portion sizes are a little bigger than most. I had the club sandwich, which was really good! They have a great selection with regular sandwiches, and some great fish dishes. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, and is a normal pretty casual restaurant. This place has a new owner. Happy to support the new owner, but many things need to improve. Salad bar at 5:00 looked like it was just containers from the day before. Brown lettuce, salad dressings spilled from one container to another, premade salads that should have been tossed. My friend and I had the rib special. She got 6 ribs and I got three. (When it was pointed out two more small racks were delivered.). Baked potatoes delivered without butter or sour cream. Stopped in for burgers this afternoon. Mine came with a hair clearly visible on the plate. I pulled it out of the cheese (long, straight, dark brown) and showed it to the server. She was considerate and offered to replace the burger. I also informed the hostess, who appeared to be in a managerial role, and asked her to inform the kitchen staff. She was unconcerned, curtly acknowledged my request. We went to Fitz's on a nice summer Friday night so we knew it would be very busy. We did not need to wait for an indoor table but we were squished into the back corner, right by the waitress station. Tables are very close together! Our group ordered deep fried and baked cod; the deep fried was definitely better. My daughter got a huge piece of baked cod but it was cold. We complained and it was reheated for her but still was not very good. We all added on the salad bar to our meals, because after COVID, a good old-fashioned salad bar is hard to find. It was good but we later learned upgrading to the salad bar added on $6.99 each to our meals. The appetizer, salad bar and main meal were served very quickly (too quickly) with us rushing to finish our appetizer and salads. There is a separate hostess station if you would like to eat outside on the patio by Lake Wisconsin. There is also an outdoor bar but they accept cash only. There was also live music outdoors. If we go again, I would eat outside, order only deep fried fish and skip the salad bar. I would also bring cash for the outdoor bar. read more

This place used to be so incredible when i moved to the area about 15yrs ago. Now, not too impressed. Food quality is way downhill, very inconsistent and way over priced. Service can be ok, but on most occasions we get a grumpy older lady that can hardly handle her section. I understand being busy, ive been in this industry for the better part of 35 yrs. But being short, and condescending to guests when they are about to spend a good chunk of change at your place is nuts. The owner is definitely a big change from the warm, fun couple that owned it for many years. New dude is dry as a popcorn fart, and should probably consider a career as mall security. I've been looking for a Supper Club with a view... and Fitz's doesn't disappoint particularly with an outside table timed just right for sunset over Lake Wisconsin. The Old Fashioneds were proper! The service was fantastic. The star of the show aside from the sunset was the Brussels Sprouts appetizer. The beer battered haddock was good... the NY Strip was decent but my preference is for a more aggressively seasoned steak... plus it was a tad over cooked for my liking. I'd ordered it between medium rare and medium and it was probably medium plus. This said it was tender enough. I had the hash browns with cheese and onions - decent. My dining companion had the mashed potatoes and gravy as her side... not much to look at... but Shazam... unbelievably tasty. Both meals were served with steamed broccoli, which was fine but given the full salad bar, sorta a shoulder shrug. This said if we'd chose soup (they were out - we arrived sort of late and within an hour of closing) maybe the broccoli would've had more appeal? They are "famous" for their Okey Dokey Sunday... but we opted to split a booze salted caramel shake... we were stuffed but it was worth it. The prices are within the lower range for supper clubs particularly when compared to some of the other area "more famous" joints. The view is every bit as good as those other places and for the price a great experience. Note the servings are generous and we both left stuffed. read more

Stopped in on a Sunday night for a meal on the Lake, have been regulars for years. Did not realize changed owners, so we both ordered a steak dinner. Dinners arrived with corn and Baked Potato, asked for butter and A-1 sauce, never did get, Prior to the return from the waitress, tried the ear corn, not good, been cooked and sat in warmer for long time, simply put not fresh or edible. Opened the baked potato and again brown and had sat in a warmer for a long time, not good. Then we cut into our Medium Rare steaks. Completely WELL DONE, Waitress came back, and we shared and showed her our concerns, both meals were simply not good. She apologized and took the food back to make it correct, we thought. 5 minutes later she brought back the food we sent back and put it in front of us, my wife and I were at a loss of what was happening. I asked why are you bringing back the food we sent back as steaks were over cooked, corn was bad and baked potato was bad. Waitress was obviously in a situation she had not been in before so we did not push it. 5 minutes later a waiter brought out 2 re-cooked steaks out on a side plate with no fresh potatoes or corn, but we still had our original meal in front of us, and they did not remove it from our table. Check Please, at a total loss of what is happening. both meals complete disaster. Way more to say, but Ownership needs to really need to take a look at things, locals will really not support this type of situation. Sorry for the negative but should have been handled better.
