We asked for less ice and less sugar on the latte, and also less ice and less wet on the tea. Both were very sweet and the latte had ice all the way to the top. There was no guava flavor that I can taste in the tea, it tasted just like sweet water, the latte tasted better but disappointed as it was mostly ice.

Birch Tree Books & Plants is a really interesting combination of a business…read more The store itself is chock full of books and, of course, plants in a series of little rooms in a house in downtown Leesburg.  It's a fun place to wander through and look at what is on each shelf and in the corners.  There are other cute quirks such as a wheel you can spin with each purchase.  You can win candy or a small prize among other options.  It's a little extra fun and the kids loved it when we visited.  We were there for an author talk which took place upstairs in a bigger, open and light-filled room.  The set up worked very well, providing a casual atmosphere but also one that was very intimate due to the smaller number of chairs the space could accommodate. The event was well run and we will definitely keep our eye on the calendar for future events.  Parking is convenient in nearby garages.

I like that this is a small hometown toy shop, and they have a pretty good selection…read more The things I did not like were: they had a young man, maybe college age guy working there - who couldn't have cared less. He was sitting behing the counter looking at his phone the whole time, and when I asked him a few questions he was not very helpful at all. Their prices for the most part seemed decent, for example a Melissa and Doug wooden gift set for 19.99 which seems to be the going price. I liked that they had some low price items that the kids could purchase. They also have legos that you can buy by the piece, or box full of spare parts. However, my dad bought a bag of regular ol' marbles - I am pretty sure I have seen that same bag at the Dollar Store, and he paid $10 for them. He said he didn't mind as it is free enterprise and he likes supporting the community.
