Michaels is typically my go to store from crafting supplies but the one is Dulles Landing is the worst. There is never anyone there to help even after notifying a cashier about needing help and having them call someone twice. I waited twice for someone to assist with the spray paints twice for 20 minutes each and no one came on one particular visit. This has happened to me on other occasions as well. Haven't had this issue with other Michaels stores but I will never be returning to the Dulles Landing location. read more

Customer service is great! I went in to buy some stuff to make a shirt for a concert I was going to. The lady at the cash register was very excited about my shirt and was excited to see the final look. I went back to show her the shirt when it was finished and she was more excited about it than I was. I wish I got her name! read more

Covid times - just visit a craft store and have yourself a good time. Michaels is a perfect example of this and location is good. It's easy to navigate and clean store. If you're in Aldie area this one is for you. We found such cute stuff at this location for thanksgiving celebration. We needed to get fancy plates, some baking decorations, and some props. Found all the things and more. Covid - Check out took a little time but everything is social distanced and you have to wear a mask. read more

I freaking LOVE Michaels. I could spend hours here, and I do! We go about once a month to pick up fun art supplies for the kids and for our random projects. Great sales and clearance section!!! Beats other stores for sure. read more

I bought art supplies at this store last year 2020 and today 7/2021, I exchanged the unused oil paints for acrylic after my Art teacher encouraged me to use acrylic over oil for ease with no hassle. The staff and manager were really patient and refunded me for the unused pack of oil paints. Then they rang up the rest of my purchase: pack of acrylic paints, a pack of 16x20 canvasses, an easel and more brushes promptly! So glad this store and its staff provide an excellent experience especially the staff who assisted me from prior visit. She took the time to explain the diff paints & brushes! 08/20/2020 UPDATE: The District Managers are now involved in resolving this issue. They are aware that I was discriminated against & that Connor tried to physically intimidate me while ignoring requests from his manager Josh to step away from me - yet, Maura & her mentors continue to suggest I go to another Michael's store as a solution. They even floated the idea of bringing my custom order to my home, as if I would ever allow these people around my family. My family and I have decided to pursue a legal action against Michaels. We will continue to try to get possession of our property and file shortly thereafter. This is 2020. Businesses do not have the right to punish victims of discrimination. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I understand these are trying times during this global pandemic, but the disrespect I received from an employee was unacceptable. She was rude, as well as condescending. This employee was a woman with light brown hair, who seemed to be around my age. I hate giving a one star but I have to. No follow-up on my framing and it took months. I always had to call to get status and I was waiting weeks. Then I stopped in and they could not even find my order. Once that was resolved they said it was still delayed and sorry again. I got a lot of sorry and no "here is what we are going to do" and satisfy me as a customer. I would never buy again from here as this group just are not professional. read more

This is seriously one of the best Michaels locations I've been to. Their manager (I wish I knew his name) is so helpful and down to earth. It took me a few separate occasions of asking him questions and picking his brain on various craft brands to realize he was the manager. Their sale/ clearance section rarely disappoints and they are usually pretty well stocked in other areas. The only improvement I would suggest would be in the custom framing department as there is usually only one person but other than that this is my go-to for crafting. read more

Well I previously left one star review because they earned it. I try to leave real reviews and hat night it was on another level. One incident condemned a place for me. It felt personal and I had not been back since. The store manager contacted me directly about my complaint and invited me back for my next visit. So I took her up on the offer and came back. She had set up a reception of sorts and more than took care of my needs and completely wowed me with the care and dedication to making amends. The framing department is great! Stapled and wrapped my father in law's art so we could ship it cross country. No charge! They were so nice and helpful! I've also framed some of my art here. Updating to praise the framing department again. We just picked up 3 pieces, and they are gorgeous. You can tell in interactions with the framing team that they really care and they get excited about the art. read more

I was never really into arts and crafts, but this outstanding Michael's brings out the Martha Stewart in me. Their selection is so varied and well-organized. They have everything, from milk bottles to rustic-style photo frames to martini-glass-shaped vases to paper chandeliers to plain t-shirts to seemingly endless aisles of beautiful not tacky artificial flowers. It was a little jarring, but they also already have a plethora of Halloween and fall decor out. We were also really impressed by the great service that we received at their custom framing area. Erick was so knowledgeable and informative. He really took the time to tell us about different framing options, pricing, and turnaround time. Custom framing promotions run through August 1, so check them out if you need framing for wall art or precious photos. Speaking of promotions, there are plenty of other grand opening sales and deals. Hopefully, the selection, organization, and service will stay superb, even after the excitement of grand opening is over. read more

We shop here often, there's a large variety of craft supplies. The staff is friendly and the store is usually clean. The weekend and holiday seasons can get crazy in here, like any craft store. I shop during the week, when the store is less busy and I can brainstorm as I shop. read more

Sadly, they lost a big customer today. BTW, I believe this is the first negative review I ever wrote. Over the past year, I have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars at Michael's as I made the entire decor for my daughter's wedding. Every bouquet, every table arrangement, every arch, every corsage. Also, I recently had pictures framed for a friend for $250!!!!!! I happen to be environmentally conscious, as well. So I took back four simple foam items that I didn't open or use. I had the receipt for a whopping total of $13.75. First they said, the receipt had expired. Okay. Then they added that they could give me a store credit. Great. But they "couldn't" use the prices on my receipt that I paid. They "had to" use the lowest price in the past two weeks on the item. Not true. So they wanted to give me a store credit for $7. Now, let's face it. This is not about $6 for me. It's about extremely poor corporate policies. Three stars for the two people I dealt with there. They were kind; just stuck in a corporate system of greed. This is my opinion. read more

Seriously one of the nicest Michael's I have ever visited. The store is bright and organized with wide aisles and friendly employees. I experienced none of the confusion and disorganization I feel when I walk into the Fair Lakes location. This store is laid out well and fully stocked making it easy to find the things you are looking for. The frame shop is located at the center back of the store and the frames are displayed in such a way that you can easily walk through to browse unlike other stores where everything is behind the counter. Lines are not long and check out is a breeze. My only complaint is every time I check out I am asked for my email address. Personally, I already get enough spam and really don't want any more. I do appreciate having this store close to my neighborhood. read more

The service here is non-existent. Every time I've come here, there isn't any staff around to help except at the cashier. I asked the cashier to call for help to get something down that was high on a wall and she never did. When you do find one staff member, they're usually shooting the shit, chatting about personal stuff with people. Seriously, get it together... it shouldn't be this difficult! read more

Just wanted to give this store and who I believe to be one of the store managers major kudos. Today while shopping I made the mistake of putting my red wallet in their red cart. I was only running in real fast to look at something so I didn't bring me entire purse. I walked next door to 5 below after and after 10 minutes of shopping I realized I left my wallet back at michaels. I walked in frantically looking in the carts in the lobby but no luck.. walked in and the girls up front called for a manager and he came right up and looked in every last cart until it was found. It was so nice of him! Most people have the mentality of "it's your problem" so it was so nice for him to go out of his way to help. I had my young daughter with me and he told me about there Saturday classes. The store is always super clean and organized! You can tell they work hard to keep it clean. read more

the cashier/register service needs improvement. there were no customers in front of me and three employees standing behind the registers talking to each other. I waited patiently but as time went by, I was annoyed that my presence wasn't acknowledge by any of them. I even considered dropping my items and walking out but I had my kids with me so I tried to hold my annoyance in. my son actually asked why I was waiting... seriously, disappointing. I noticed the few glances towards me but they ignored me all the same and continued on with their conversation. my transaction took a minute. could they not have waited on me then have their conversation? read more

Only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because the manager was finally accommodating. I work retail so I know how it is when customers are overwhelmed and wanna fight on a price. Ima make it short and sweet. First of all cashier didn't know the sales or if the BOGO was taken off. She kept telling me I saved $16 which is great but not what I was asking. The store was a mess I can understand a weekend but on a Wednesday? They seemed understaffed and some customers not just me were becoming frustrated bc no one was on the floor. Another incident happened in the back as well, same one. Secondly, they need to be careful with their replacement bins my mother almost slipped on the top of a bin and that would've sucked for them! Back to the store being a mess, every time we come to the store they have to verify the price and I also just walk away but not today. It's annoyingly when you spend about an hour in the store and go to the register and find out half of what you got wasn't even in the right place. Today I was fed up but the manager was accommodating to an item. I don't know the signs. I'm not an employee I shouldn't have to be asked what i saw price wise or what the sale sign says.
