Clean, friendly, informative! We just started going to this dental office and my girls were at ease the whole time. Everyone at this office is so nice and helpful. My 2 daughters liked Diana and Charlie so much that they are requesting that they have them at their next visit. Honestly I never felt comfortable at the dentist when I was a kid, so it makes me so happy that my kids are happy to be there. Both dentists at this office were informative and friendly. Not only did the man dentist make my son lose all trust in dentists but they also quoted me significantly less than what the procedure was, and they said it's because of the insurance not paying as much as they thought. Okay bummer but okay so, I paid it in full, and they call me three months later saying I still owe more and the reason being was the insurance didn't cover as much. I had already paid $500 over the quoted price. They still harass me everyday for the payment. My sister is a lawyer and my brother in law is the DA and they told me that what they did wasn't even legal so for them to again ask for more money AFTER I already paid way more than quoted is not just wild, it's illegal. read more

This review is a little overdue but here goes. This was my sons dental practice for years and we were always satisfied with the care he received which was mostly preventative in nature. When he turned 15, however, we were asked to transfer to an adult dentist as they stop seeing patients at 5 Cities around this age. We weren't comfortable leaving pediatric dentistry at 15 years old and were in the process of scheduling with a dentist in Santa Barbara when one of the physicians I work with suggested Pacific Pediatric Dentistry in SLO. We were sad to leave 5 Cities but happy there is a local alternative for teens to continue pediatric care once they age out at 5 Cities. read more

Dr. Giancarlo is incredible! He is kind, patient, and thorough. You can tell he loves his work and I am so appreciative for his thoughtful, passionate care. Today he helped with an exam and treatment for my 2 year old who chipped his tooth. Diana was extremely patient with my son and he was also very comfortable with the whole experience. He is three years old and it was his second time visiting the dentist, first time at this office. Unfortunately while taking my children to this office over the last year they failed to refill prescriptions, after appointments never had someone in the office to prepare treatments plans. When told that I would be called with the treatment information I had to call them back numerous times. Then after confirming that this office has dental assistants cleaning the children's teeth the Doctor agreed to allow me to do my kids 6 month cleanings since I am a Registered Dental Hygienist of 20 years. Dental assistants are not trained or legal to do dental cleanings. What has been the final straw is the front office "Eileen" told me they have decided to not allow me to clean my own children's teeth, they want their assistant to do it. No way! Even though It was a discussion with the dentist numerous times and it was supposed to be noted in my kids charts. I called and tried to have the Dentist call and discuss/confirm the changes and my concerns, but Eileen said they don't do that. Very disappointed. read more

It was my three year old's first dentist appointment and honestly I was a bit nervous at first. Once I arrived, i realized quickly, I couldn't have picked a better doctor. Everyone was so nice and Diana was the sweetest. Dr Giancarlo was awesome! My little three year old was so happy and excited to be at the dentist and the appointment went so much better than I had anticipated because everyone was so nice and the environment was so kid friendly. I would highly recommend this dental facility. When I got home, my little guy said he loved the dentist and couldn't wait to go back. The office is very clean. The doctor took the time to explain everything and really cared. After a cavity scare, we found out that my little guy just has a deep stain on his tooth. Unbelievable. My daughter has been to another dentist, twice. Each time was horrific. We had to hold her and she cried - even though all they did was clean her teeth with the electric toothbrush. We recently moved to the area and I found this office on a Monday and was in Tuesday am. The front desk is absolutely awesome. The doc and hygienist spoke to her in terms that we're on her level and went at her pace - she's 3. Dr Irma carved out some time after the appointment to go over her exam and care moving forward which was super nice. Highly recommend these guys. read more

I am leaving 2 stars, but only for the 2 amazing Pediatric dentists on staff. They are both great and I have nothing negative to say about them, if you choose to go here you kids will be in good hands. Also, the hygienists have been good too. Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience with the front office staff and as a result have chosen to no longer have my daughter as a patient. In July of 2021 I needed to cancel my daughter's appointment because she was ill. It was on the day of her appointment; however, she was coughing and had a fever and it would not be right to bring her in for a simple teeth cleaning appointment. I called back a few days later to reschedule for Oct. There was a need to move the Oct appointment, and I called 2 business days in advance of the appointment to reschedule to January. I showed up to my appointment in January of 2022, and was asked to pay a $50 cancellation fee. I was confused. First, they said it was because I rescheduled the Oct appointment and gave them less than 2 days' notice, I specifically know I did not, and they looked further and confirmed that I had rescheduled in the approved amount of time. Then they say it was for the July 2021 appointment. I was confused, because what was I supposed to do? Bring my kid in coughing and with a fever? The lady at the front desk told me "yes", I should have asked if it was ok. WHAT? I don't have to do that anywhere else. Then she later said they were getting hit so hard by people cancelling appointments due to Covid. They made the decision to start enforcing the cancellation fee. I get that, especially when it was surging in this area at the beginning of 2022. However, going back and trying to charge me is wrong. When I called, someone should have inquired, "How sick is your kid" etc. She said she understood and said she would ask the office manager to waive it. I asked her to have the office manager call me if there were any issues. They lectured me on cancellation policy and made me re-initial their policy. No call ever came in so I assumed, it was a common-sense issue, and they had finally backed down from their insistence on charging me this fee. Fast forward to August 2022, another cleaning appointment for my daughter. We check in and the front desk employee says, you owe $50. I said, no I do not this has been handled. She then escorts me to speak to the office manager. The office manager then tells me she doesn't know about the previous conversation I had in January because she was on medical leave. I then have to re-litigate the whole thing that I thought was resolved over 6 months ago. Over $50 from over a year ago. She insisted I owed it. The pure frustration that all that time I had taken to discuss the situation in January, was wasted and not noted on our account! No one called me when I had asked someone to call me about it. Its only $50, but for me it's the principle of the issue. The lack of respect and communication. No one taking the time to document my issue and comment, and then further insisting that its basically my fault because the office manager was on medical leave and could not review the issue. Further lecturing and scolding me multiple times regarding the cancellation policy. It makes me sad to think that this is probably happening to other parents for situations that are outside their control and probably cannot afford giving $50 to the dental office. How stressful! So, that's it. Front desk service is so important and the face of your business. My time is important. You make people feel either comfortable or uncomfortable, you are understanding or not. This is not how you maintain relationships. Your office manager ground her heels into the ground and wouldn't budge. I was reminded about how many times I have rescheduled since being a patient (5 times BTW). Another way to drive home the point about... about what? What is the point here except to scold? I am sure other parents can understand the complexities that come up with kids and why one would need to reschedule. I always rescheduled, so you got our business and money, which seems to be the most important thing to you based on these actions. I am in no way a chronic appointment mover. It rubbed me the wrong way and, to be honest, offended me. All over a $50 because I didn't bring in my sick kid for her dentist appointment. read more

My grandson Julian and I were both extremely satisfied with our experience. Debbie and the entire front office was very helpful and supportive. Krista was great with Julian explaining everything she was doing regarding x-rays and his cleaning making sure he was very comfortable and relaxed. Dr Lauriente was very good at communicating his actions and very patient and throrough with Julian. Dr. Giancarlo and Dr. Irma are great!!! My daughter looks forward to her appointments (she's in braces). She love's that she gets to pick a movie and gets to watch it while she having her teeth work on (they have flat screens on the ceiling!). The office is very kid friendly, I love that the assistants are so excited to see the patients. The staff is very polite and happy when ever we visit, they make us feel welcome. I also noticed that babies and kids, that are not able to sit on the actual dental chairs they get go into a very nice room with a couch and toys. The office is really clean and organized. Both Dr.'s are very nice and sweet, I wish I would have had dentist like these when I was growing up. The views in this office are awesome, the train comes by every so often, kids get so excited to see the train come by. I am very impressed and excited that I have found an office that is caring, nurturing and just all around awesome! This office is amazing! My grandson who is two chipped his two front teeth from a fall in our backyard. I was very concerned & called this office first thing the next day & they were able to see him & squeeze him into their already fully booked appts for the day. My daughter was so impressed by the dentist & his ability to connect with our grandson. Our grandson even gave him a hug! I am so...thankful they could see him and advise us of next steps etc. We will continue to see this office going forward & look forward to having our 4 month granddaughter follow as well when it's time. Dr. Irma and Dr. G and staff are the best! They always make the kids feel comfortable and treat all patients with care and attention. They make going to the dentist fun for kids, even when getting procedures done they take the stress and fear out of it. My daughter started out being terrified of the dentist (from a previous dentist office) as a toddler, and this office has turned her around into a great patient who never stresses about going to see the dentist (even through getting teeth extracted and a spacer put in). We LOVE this office!!! The staff here is very attentive, careful and skilled. Because it's a pediatric dental office, THEY KNOW KIDS. Both Dr. Irma and Dr. Giancarlo are expert dentists and the staff is overall very patient and pleasant in working with children. After having been to three other dentists, we FINALLY found two that are incredible at what they do! My three year old shrieks with joy when I tell her we're going to the dentist! Dentists are straight forward and honest with kids about what is happening, and in my opinion, are not "sugar coated" at all. They use age appropriate vocabulary which completely eliminated the confusion and fear children have. Everyone at this office is so warm, welcoming, caring, and understanding. They all love kids and it really shows! The office furniture is miniature, just for kids! There are kids movies playing everywhere, and a large variety of toys in the lobby. Most importantly, my kid loves the dentist now! I wish I had half as awesome of a dental team when I was a kid! I wish they treated adults too! read more
