So I am from New York, so I am ALWAYS skeptical ordering a bagel when out of state. I was soooo pleasantly surprised and happy with this order! I got an Asiago bagel with veggie cream cheese. Really good and would def eat again! The store itself is small with no seating, you have to order and sit outside or go. You also order on a tablet / screen and as someone who has never been there, I like to ask people for suggestions and this limits the ability to have the option to do that. Cute little grab & go bagel spot in arcade alley. A few small tables in the alley, but not really a place for "dining in". Soooo many yummy bagels & sandwiches to choose from. I got a cuban sandwich inspired breakfast bagel called "Haaam, Girl!"; And it was so good that I am still thinking about it several days later. My friend got a Chocolate Chip bagel and PB Cream Cheese and loved it. She did seem just a bit overwhelmed by the amount of cream cheese on the bagel, it was a lot. I loved the bagels from here! My favorite was the jalapeño cheddar. The chocolate chip was also very yummy. The store is very much grab and go, as they don't have much seating. It's located in the Arcade building with other shops to peruse. My service was quick, and the inside of store was very colorful and I liked the vibe. read more

I had been meaning to stop in here for ages and now that I have, I've been here 2-3 times per week! Their Asiago bagel is outstanding with their salted butter. I was originally getting it untoasted and then an error gave me one toasted - and that worked out in my favor because it was incredible. I need to branch out and try the many other flavors of bagels and schmears they offer. I like that they offer monthly specials, like the "Red Velvet" for February/Valentine's day. You can order ahead (which I love) or order by a kiosk in the store. The employees are nice and they move quickly. We were in Nashville for the weekend and discovered Ugly Bagels by our hotel so on Sunday morning stopped in to grab breakfast to go. Great variety of bagels, cream cheese aka called spread and sandwiches. It was hard to make a decision we went with Asiago bagel with veggie cream cheese & I'm Goin' Back on Seeded Whole grain. The bagels are huge & delicious! The veggie cream cheese was filled with spinach which I love & toasted just right. The I'm Goin' Back Egg, Smashed Avocado, Turkey Sausage, Swiss, was hot delicious! Truly some of the best bagels we've ever enjoyed! And friendly quick staff. We definitely need these bagels back in Southwest Ohio! read more

Cute little bagel shop tucked away downtown. When you walk in, you order on a computer screen, similar to Wawa. There are loads of options, sandwiches, spreads, sides, coffees. It was hard to choose! But I love an everything bagel so I of course had to get that with eggs and turkey sausage. I did select the "no cheese" option when ordering but there was cheese on it when I opened it up. REALLY liked these bagels. I opted for a sweet (chocolate chip) bagel with a classic CC. And it was just perfect. The "ugly" bagel was acutally pretty cute and the location itself is more of a grab and go which is nice for those who live/work in the downtown area. I love how thy have a "happy hour" for bagels so they won't go to wait. Only flaw about this location is the parking for those not in the area. Overall the staff was great and helpful with recommendations. I will be back (if I'm in town) to get a savory bagel. read more

My husband and I visited Nashville this weekend and I was so excited to have a good gourmet bagel while there. This shop is inside an alley thats being remodeled to be like a little shopping center. Once the area is finished, I bet it will look very nice. Right now, it's kind of meh. Obviously, there is no street parking, only paid garages nearby. We parked in 201 4th ave. Garage and it was $15 for Sat./Sun. Parking. The Ugly bagel is a unique place, it just didn't hit the spot for me. You order at the kiosk and they get it out to you in a decent time. My husband and I ordered caramel lattes. They had caramel in them, but the caramel taste wasn't there. No sweetness at all. I also ordered a cheddar jalapeño bagel with plain cream cheese. I received a regular cheddar bagel with cream cheese. My husband got a cheddar jalapeño breakfast sandwich and he enjoyed it, but it was dripping grease. It was a decent place, but not worth the extra trip and having to pay parking just for this. read more

**Take my review with a grain of salt, as I am well aware it's a difference in desired aesthetic that's influencing the low star rating** Ugly Bagel is for the Instagram-brained among us. Between the goofy mascot and the branding, there is a palpable effort to be trendy which I personally abhor. It's such a tiny little shop, without so much as a seating area, which made me wonder, "Can this even be considered a restaurant?" On one of the walls, there are plastic models of their different bagels and cream cheese flavors... I felt like an overgrown child in a Fisher Price Bagel Shop toy set. Orders are placed on a touchscreen kiosk, which to me is an offensively modern, robotic, and gauche move. They'd run out of the heart-shaped bagel my roommate & I made the trip for, so I ended up ordering a French toast bagel with brown sugar cream cheese. I've yet to meet a bagel I didn't at least moderately enjoy, and this was no exception. But it was nothing worth writing home about. The only redeeming aspect of the place is the observation window, where one can watch the bakers shape the bagels. But this, too, was quickly spoiled, as the bagel technician (any Seinfeld fans here?) continuously flitted his eyes to me in a flirtatious manner. Uncomfortable, to say the least. The ephemeral & childish nature of Ugly Bagel made me want to click my heels & be transported to Proper Bagel off Belmont Blvd., where the timeless tiled floors and deli-style ordering system would warm me. I am going 5 stars on this one because of the guy who makes the bagels. I was on a very tight time frame this morning and was there at 7am and he told me it would be a bit as the girls who work up front hadn't shown up yet. He saw the look on my face and I said I need to get to work and really wanted a bagel this morning. He said come on it and I will get it for you and showed me where to order. Did the touchscreen order and he handed me what turned out to be a very yummy bagel. I hope I can make it back again. This little bagel shop located in Printer's Alley (the Arcade building) is quickly becoming one of our favorite bagel spots in Nashville. I'm from the North East and my expectations for bagels are pretty high, but they consistently deliver! My favorite is the everything bagel but honestly, all of them are delicious! Swung by to try a new bagel spot that recently opened. You order via a kiosk which was easy enough. They have 3 tables outside so it is more of a grab and go place than a sit down and enjoy with family/friends. We ordered a holiday swirl and a jalapeño cheddar breakfast sandwich. Unfortunately when we got home the order was wrong. The bagels were still really tasty, and maybe it was just an off morning for the crew. I would most likely just go to Proper Bagel if I was looking for a bagel fix in the future. If they added more tables to sit at and smoothed out their ordering process to ensure you got what you ordered I'd be willing to give them another shot. read more

A bagel and spread wall with choices to see, made the selection even more difficult (sarcasm) because we wanted to try all of them! We got everything bagel with plain cream cheese and a jalapeño cheddar bagel with bacon and chive cream cheese - BOTH AMAZING! I was excited to try this spot after seeing the cheeky marketing campaign on social media. We ordered ahead online, and I'm glad we did: when we arrived around 9:30 on Saturday, there were quite a few people waiting for their orders, though it seemed the team behind the counter was moving swiftly! We got two hot meat-egg-cheese sandwiches and one bagel with cream cheese. Unfortunately, one of the hot sandwiches was not what we ordered: wrong bagel type, wrong meat -- and we didn't realize till we sat down to eat a few blocks away. Given the likely wait to get it fixed, I made the decision not to go back and ask for another. The mix-up aside, the one we got was tasty: wonderful chewy on the outside and soft on the inside texture. The flavors of bagels and spreads are pretty unique! Likely something to please anyone here (gluten-free folks aside). Next time we'll get drip coffee instead of lattes: the portion of espresso was pretty small, making it taste more like a steamed milk with no coffee flavor. A couple hiccups aide, I look forward to trying Ugly Bagel again. For a place in its first week open. It has a lot of potential! read more

Was looking for a bagel spot and found this. They are definitely hard to find. I was driving to location from Buena Vista area. Parking is not easy for this spot. It is more walkable for more local areas and hotels. Located in the "Arcade Area". Nice looking and bright decor. Only have kiosks to order or online. Decent selection of bagels and smears. This visit had Asiago bagel with cream cheese and Cinnamon raisin with sausage, egg and cheese. My wife liked her Asiago but my cinnamon raisin was really just ok. It wasn't very flavorful. I gave service a two only because I would prefer to speak with someone to order don't like just a kiosk but I could be in the minority. I wanted to put the cream cheese on the side and kiosk had no ability to add a note to say this has it only allowed to have it on bagel. I would probably return given not many chooses and it wasn't horrible. read more

I went here on a non-busy weekday morning. I ordered a chocolate chip bagel, toasted with funfetti cream cheese. Took about 20 minutes to get my bagel after ordering - so it was SLOW. I asked for a "regular" portion of cream cheese. They only spread a small amount on one half of the bagel and then squished the sides together. I like to eat the halves of my bagel separately and there was hardly enough to scrape onto the bare side. The bagel generally tasted fine but wasn't the best I've ever had. Their branding is cute and fun. Shop was clean. I probably wouldn't go back though. read more

Tired ugly bagels opening weekend. The concept is very simple and tech friendly for ordering, especially to go. Store is very bright and clean. Located towards the end of the arcade it's not very convenient if you have to get there by car due to the lack of parking, however thats expected being right downtown. I tried two bagels, exterior had a nice crunch to it but the interior was dense for my liking. The cream cheese is piled high on the schmears. For the lox bagel I was not a fan of the inclusion of pickled onion as it was very sour and overpowered the sandwich. read more

Reading on here about others saying the service is bad. Sean who is the general manager might've been one of the best most nice managers I've met.
