I've ridden with these guys probably a dozen times, mostly to/from the airport for work and also once to Napa. In the beginning, I was incredibly impressed by their professionalism (drivers would arrive 5-10 mins early, ready to go at the booked time, with directions already mapped). Yes, they were more expensive than Uber Black or Lyft Lux, but they were also more reliable than the scheduling feature on either app. Keep in mind that this service charges a default 20% gratuity, which I largely thought the drivers deserved and then some. Lately though, the last two times have been so disappointing. Pickups are late. Drivers are rude and get lost. You don't get the safety of knowing the license plate of the car you're getting in ahead of time or tracking your ride, and that tradeoff becomes a bigger deal when the drivers are sketchy . Every aspect now just seems simultaneously more expensive AND less convenient. I'd like to think it's just a fluke but after having raised these concerns to the company and having them seem like they don't care, I'm unlikely to try this service again. Damn shame because I was hyping it up to friends and family too. read more

My exec. did not have much time to get to the airport and the pick up location was in a huge development. I called FEL and they found me a very nice SUV with Michele as his driver. I wanted to take a trip with friends and family to Sonoma County and none of us drive so I shopped around. Lyft isn't reliable enough for plan ahead so I chose to pay more and treat us. I tried to book with another agency and they couldn't get their act together. I chose this company because from the beginning, they responded with a quote promptly and were professional all the way around from texting and emailing in a timely manner, explaining their fees and with booking on the phone. They were fast, reliable and even texted when the first ride hit a little traffic. The drivers were courteous and professional and we felt safe and secure in their large, clean SUV. Calm, cool and collected are words that come to mind when I think about how to describe them. Being semi experienced in wine country tours, I decided to offer up a tour to my family visiting San Francisco for the week. This company was exactly what we were looking for to haul us around carefree and able to spit, sip or drink to our contentment. I called about five days in advance, to reserve the car, and spoke with a very friendly woman on the other end, who took the reservation without an exact pick up location. She was unbelievable patient and friendly! The next day, we gave her the rest of the information she needed (credit card to officially reserve the car and addresses to be picked up and dropped off at, in San Francisco). The driver, Mike, was exactly on time. He was polite, an excellent driver, and always there ready and waiting to meet us or pick is up through out the entire seven hours we booked. I booked Five Emerald for transportation from the Oakland Hills to SFO with a final destination in San Mateo. The reservation and confirmations all worked very well. My son and his wife were headed off to Ireland for vacation and I wanted it to start out with something different. We also wanted to make sure we didn't have to hassle with traffic and parking. It all went well but what really impressed us was our driver, Luis. He arrived a little early, was extremely helpful. He was informative and very personable. UPDATE AS OF 06/06/16. I was not sure why the owner called and checked in with us. I do appreciate her follow up but it was too late after everything that happened. I did not expect for a full refund but she went ahead to refund a charge on my credit card. Review can't always be 5 stars. When you own a company, a feedback whether is a positive feedback or negative feedback it's a wonderful thing. We learn and grown from our mistake and how can company improve better. I do not like the sounds of her when she is asking me to remove my review. I thought that was very rude and very pushy. This is the place where you need to call them! My mom was waiting for over half an hour for her ride to Oakland airport, with rush hour schedule we need to make sure we give enough time to arrive there. We both were very nervous as the driver still did not show up. I called twice and they said it's only 2 minutes away, 12 minutes later, I called back, the operator said another 2 minutes. They need to find a better operator who speak fluent english. The driver is very cold. We are going to find another limo company. I went with them as I thought they are 5 stars on Yelp! The driver was professional, attentive and on time. I am told not once did he question, or even bat an eye at the fact that they were a couple - as I would expect but even in 'liberal' SF, one never knows how people will behave in this situation. My fiancee and I decided to use limo service from SFO to our house after returning from a Cruise. My boss recommended Five Emerald Limo. The price was reasonable. The service, outstanding! While waiting for our bags to arrive in baggage claim at T2 SFO, Five Emerald dispatch called me to see where I was. I told them, and they said a driver would be there in a few minutes. Sure enough, a driver showed up with a card with my name on it. Even though we booked a towncar, we got a suv, which was nice. Our driver, Walter, was amazing. Polite, courteous, and a pleasure to converse with. He made the ride much more pleasurable. My fiancee and I kept rambling on and on about our vacation, and Walter seemed very interested and engaged, as opposed to disinterested and mute. We loved him. When we arrived at our house and Walter helped us with our bags. It was sad that our wonderful cruise vacation was finally over, but Walter and Five Emerald Limousine were the icing on the cake of a perfect vacation. After reading tons of reviews of various driving companies, I went with Five Emerald. I can say that my husband and I were extremely pleased. We had Abe for our airport pick-up and then Ralf for our Napa Wine tour and return ride to the airport. Our drivers, particularly Ralf, were more than courteous and willing to offer great information of the area we were in on our drive. On our wine tour, Ralf suggested a particular deli (for which I'm so ever grateful because hubby and I were HUNGRY!) in wine country and OMG, was that ever a delight! Hubby and I then went and tasted more wines and Ralf patiently waited while we had all the fun. If using a service, I look for exactly what Five Emerald had! Communication, cleanliness and friendliness! The pricing I felt was reasonable. The did already add the 20% gratuity on the bill that I didn't notice beforehand, so we tipped Ralf generously when we gave him another gratuity . It's all good, but I should have paid closer attention to my confirmation. Don't hesitate to use this company. Everything about how they operate is fantastic! Oh...and on our trip back to the airport on Monday, we had Ralf again as our driver. He gave us a little San Francisco souvenir magnet for our 13 wedding anniversary. Very sweet of him to do that. We really enjoyed talking to him and asking questions (he's from Germany...ask about his favorite food that he can't get here). My husband and I used Five Emerald Limousine for a recent trip from San Francisco to Napa and back. I was highly impressed with the ease of booking on-line and the prompt, courteous assistance I received when I had to call twice post-booking to make adjustments to our reservation. Unfortunately, our driver was 30 minutes late due to confusion on Emerald's end. We were given an extra half hour to compensate for it and we were still on time for our first scheduled winery tour in Napa, so no harm done. The car (we hired a Mercedes S550) was clean and comfortable, and waters and mints were provided. Our driver Al was amazing. Very personable, helpful, and courteous. He had many great suggestions, one of which was a great spot to watch the sunset near the Golden Gate on the way back from Napa. He made sure we didn't miss it. He was also happy to take pictures of us throughout the trip, as many as we wanted! We had such a pleasurable experience with him, we felt like we parted as old friends. Imagine our delight when the next day, we saw him waiting for a client outside of the Ferry Building! One more chance to thank him for his excellent service. Five Emerald Service is just beyond 5 stars. This was my first family trip to the USA with my 16 months old daughter and my wife, who was 6 month pregnant at that time. I was able to request car seat for my daughter as well and this was the key point for me to get them to the hotel safely from a very long journey all the way from Germany. But since this was our first trip to the USA, we had booked one extra stop for Battery Spencer. Every single aspect starting from reservation till our drop off was simply professional. Our driver, Louis surpassed all our expectations! He was very helpful, friendly and did his job excellent. He talked with us and told very interesting and/or funny stories. I'm super behind on my Yelp reviews and feel incredibly bad not having finished this one sooner because... We had an amazing day/experience and our driver, Walter, played a huge role in that! Four of us took a Navigator do some winery hopping in Napa for a bachelorette party. Walter picked us up from my home in Santa Clara. The car was clean and well stocked with ice cold water, sweet treats and soda. Half the group had never been wine tasting so Walter was kind enough to give them some basic pointers. He was calm and patient with us as we became increasingly louder after every winery (sorry, Walter!). He even overheard one of us say that we like gummy bears so while we were at a winery, he went to fill up the gas tank and took it upon himself to grab some gummy bears for us from the gas station! Seriously, those touches that may seem small to some customers are actually very thoughtful and really make a difference. We had booked the car for 7 hours, anticipating an hour and a half of drive time each way. Turns out that there was some event in Napa that caused traffic on the way there to be much more dense than usual. Due to this, we had less time than expected at each winery. We also didn't anticipate that time would get away from us at each winery because we'd always get so comfortable and in deep conversations. We had to make a decision between spending time at the last winery OR just grabbing some food to go and hitting the road back. Walter was kind enough to call in to his headquarters to determine if he would be available for longer than the time we booked - he was and so we stayed to enjoy our final winery. Overall, we had a great time. We even took some balloons with us to make the day more festive. We felt obligated to pull off to the side of the road and take pics with our balloons in front of the "Welcome to Napa" sign. Walter was kind enough to take the pic for us... and even helped me navigate over the rocky rail track in my unstable wedges (thanks, Walter!). :) I highly recommend choosing this company and ask for Walter. Oh, only con: we had reserved an Escalade but got a Navigator instead. Not a huge deal since we were comfortable, but could be a big deal if you're looking for those aesthetics. read more

I've been to SF many times and this trip I was taking my 14 year old niece and her friend for their first time in the city. I decided we needed to go in style since they are from a desert town and found Five Emerald limo service on Yelp. Ira, the owner,responded immediately to my email and arranged to pick us up at SFO. He was on time, dressed professionally and assisted us into his very clean and shiny black town car. He made sure we had bottles of water for the day. The girls were impressed. Not only is he a private driver but he conducts private tours as well. Since we arrived early, he suggested we go to Alamo park in SF for a fabulous view of the city, perfect for picture taking. He waited patiently for us as the picture taking began and explained the area to us. A nice perk to start our adventure in this gorgeous city. He then dropped us off near the cable car stop at Powell and Market and told me to call anytime during the day if we had questions where to eat or what to visit. After our big day of sight seeing and tired, we decided to call him and have him drive us around before our late flight home. For about an hour he drove us through Golden Gate park, Castro district and Haight Ashbury. We all felt comfortable with him and he made us feel special on this teenage "right of passage" trip. There are few things that can make me happy with a 5 AM departure for the airport. Even if it is for vacation. Thankfully Five Emerald, and in particular Larry, actually made it a relaxing experience. He arrived early, and patiently waited while I proceeded to run late, and then whisked me to the airport in a super comfortable BMW that was an upgrade from what I booked. Easy chit chat and next thing I knew, we had arrived. But wait, it gets better. After an incredibly long flight home I was picked up in a very nice, clean Escalade by Walter who gave me local restaurant tips while I guzzled water like I was returning from the Sahara. Only thing that I wasn't a fan of is the service charge. I usually infer that to translate into a tip, but in hindsight I'm not sure if the drivers actually received that fee directly. So if not, my sincere apologies to the both. Would definitely hire them again. As a matter of fact, I'm planning to book them for a team outing to Napa this fall. read more

Very pleased with this company! I rented the Mercedes Sprinter van for our group of 9 people for the day to go from Cupertino to several locations in San Francisco. This was a really important trip as it was the first time our family was able to be together in several years, I had just recently survived a bad heart attack, and we had two that were in the middle of cancer treatments and my son and his wife were visiting from Korea. This gave us the opportunity to all be in one vehicle together rather than multiple cars and fighting parking, to make as many random stops as we wanted in places that are almost impossible to find parking and have very short walks (important for one that had surgery days prior), and ride in great comfort. Our driver, Sonny, was delightful and very accommodating, especially considering the size of the van he had to navigate through traffic and pretty tight places along Conzelman road in Marin Headlands area, Golden Gate Bridge, Sausalito, and Fishermans Wharf. I think the total was ~$1,950 but well worth it since we likely won't be together like that anytime soon. read more

Traveling to SFO used to be easy, but now with two kids under 3, it is more challenging. We decided to use Five Emerald and it was the right decision. Our driver arrived early so we had plenty of time to load our gear, luggage, 2 car seats and kids. Our driver was helpful and professional, and the SUV was in pristine condition. On our return trip, our flight was delayed. I emailed Ira to let him know but he was already tracking our flight. Although we were delayed by 3 hours, using Five Emerald made the return trip better. As it turns out, there was fine print at the very bottom of the original confirmation which outlined additional charges for additional stops. I should have read the whole thing and that is on me. But I still maintain that the driver could have mentioned there would be additional charges and the company should have sent me an updated receipt reflecting the additional charge. I have another trip to SFO planned for late July and because of the excellent service from the owner I intend to use Five Emerald Limousine for my airport transfers. read more

We recently used Five Emerald Limousine service to go to the airport from Novato. We received email and text notices to remind us when we were going to get picked up which was very helpful. When we returned home, the driver was at the airport almost immediately after we texted him that we had received our baggage.
