Huh, am kind of puzzled at all the harsh 1-2 star reviews. This place is about the same distance to my home as the Medford (Station Landing) Five Guys, but the physical location is a lot more pleasant and traffic on the way there is a lot lighter and less stressful. Quality of food is about the same as far as I can tell---yes they are a chain, so you can expect pretty consistent quality and know what you're getting. (The bacon is a bit dry and overcooked for MY tastes, but I've never found it much different at any other Five Guys.) That said, Burlington is a good bit further out than Medford and a good bit more expensive to live in, so they probably do have a harder time hiring and retaining the minimum wage employees they need, doh that's called capitalism folks. Result being that someone like me who eats here maybe once every 2-3 weeks, never sees any staff faces that he recognizes from the previous visit. And sometimes yes, they do get slammed and you do have to stand and wait for your order even though you placed it online and arrived in-store 5-10 minutes after the promised "ready to pick up" time. It's not a big deal to me, and still beats driving out to the Medford location. Bottom line: Their $11 made-to-order bacon double cheeseburger and huge-portion fresh-cut fries still beat the living daylights out of the $18-25 burger and fries (usually made from tasteless frozen pre-formed patties and frozen pre-cut fries, bleh) you find at most other taverns and bars in Burlington, Arlington, Cambridge, Lexington, etc.---the only advantage those places have is booze, if you were dying to have an overpriced-and-mediocre corporate beer with your overpriced-and-mediocre Sysco bar-burger. (Makes me wonder if some local competitors have paid a reputation-management company to plant a bunch of negative reviews of this location.) read more

I'm going to start by saying how much I like 5 Guys, which is what makes this location such a disappointment. I placed my order online & walked in to the restaurant just about to the minute of when my order should have been ready. When I walked in, it was more like 2 Guys, 1 on the grill & 1 on the register. There was a pile of 1/2 done burgers on the prep station being ignored (see photo). I saw them sit there for about 10 minutes before the guy on the register decided to finish them off & wrap them (straight from the register to the pre-station without gloves or a hand washing). He bagged up the orders only to realize they hadn't dropped enough fries! So another 5 minutes or so. Once they got to my order, they were out of fries again so guess what, another 5 minutes or so! No acknowledgment or apology, just more waiting. Fist time I have had bad experience at any 5 Guys. I will continue to enjoy 5 Guys, I just will never go to the Burlington Massachusetts location again! read more

Came to this location, late Saturday afternoon, and we ordered takeaway. Hubby and I ordered 2 bacon cheeseburgers, a large cajun fries, and a combination milkshake. What's Hot - Quality. Yummers! Hubby and I ordered several toppings in our burgers, such as sautéed onions, tomatoes, jalapeños, sautéed mushrooms, pickles, etc... They didn't skimp any of the toppings, which definitely added flavor to our burgers. Our burgers were freshly made, hot, and delicious. Our burgers were fully wrapped in aluminum foil. My burger was actually double wrapped in foil, because the lettuce wraps made the burger a bit larger and flimsy. They also continue the Five Guys trend of dumping additional fries into your take-out bag, which hubby and I fully appreciate. - Portions. This is a Goldilocks situation- not too small, not too big; it's just right. Enough to be filling and satisfying. - Prices. Very reasonable, especially for quality and the portions. That everything is made on the spot, and that you can see their kitchen, is a nice bonus. - Service. Polite and quick. After we put in our order, the cashier made my husband's milkshake. It was nice that my husband had that to sip on while we waited for our order. We probably waited less than 15 minutes for our order, which we appreciated, especially because we were already hungry and there were other customers waiting. - Health and safety. During this time of the pandemic, it appears that they are observing health and safety protocols. Indoor dining is allowed, but they are spacing out diners. For example, there are tables that have signs stating those tables are not to be used for dining. Additionally, all the staff that we could see we were wearing face masks and gloves. The front door has a sign that states all customers are required to wear masks inside the restaurant. At the front counter, there are clear plastic dividers between the cashier and the customer. I'm glad that they are taking these steps. - Location. This location is conveniently located to other shops. For example, HMart (a Korean grocery store chain) is in the next plaza. Additionally, there are a couple of outdoor benches by this Five Guys. During this time of the pandemic, that's definitely helpful. Hubby and I were able to eat outside, on one of the benches, rather than eat in our car or inside the restaurant. Definitely helpful. What's Not - Quality. Hubby said the bacon in his burger was more dry, rather than tender, which was disappointing. Our guess is that the bacon was premade and sitting out, which is why it wasn't as tender and flavorful. - No peanuts. The peanuts, which are usually available to be grabbed, were not opened. There were small stacks of peanuts in boxes, as there usually are in every Five Guys location I've been to. Unfortunately, those boxes were not open and available to customers. I presume it's to comply with health and safety standards of the pandemic, which makes sense. It's just an unfortunate side effect that hubby and I have to live with. Haha... Oh well... There are worse possibilities. - Menu options. They didn't the bowl option on their menu. I was able to order their bacon cheeseburger in a bowl, during a previous time at another Five Guys Location. To be fair, this was also through Uber Eats, so I'm uncertain whether every Five Guys location has this option or if it's just through Uber Eats. Fortunately, I was able to get my burger lettuce wrapped, which was still delish. A burger wrapped in lettuce is a little messier, so it would've been helpful to have in a bowl. Oh well, I guess I need to look into this bowl option and find out the details. Final Answer Worth coming back. read more

I've been to a few different Five Guys and this one is not worth the price. They seem to be focusing more on quantity vs quality. People expect to wait for good burgers and fries, not to get their order super fast and have mediocre, at best, food. The fries were soggy and undercooked. Seems like the oil was either not hot enough or they weren't cooking them long enough. Either way, they weren't edible. Both me and my husband's burgers were subpar. My bottom bun was so soggy and nasty I had to ask for a new bottom bun. Both our burgers were wrapped much too tight, which is probably why they were soggy. Two stars due to poor service. We ordered two burgers and an order of fries. We ordered ahead thinking this would allow the order to be ready when we walked in. You know, to save time... We arrived just before the order was supposed to be ready. There were six people in line who were just placing orders. The person at the front counter announced to the burger staff that we arrived to pick up the order. Every walk-in order was completed before they started our take-out order! Total wait including time from ordering online to waiting inside 5 guys was a little over 40 minutes. Basically, don't waster your time ordering ahead and just order in line. You'll get your food faster. Food is just ok. Better yet, order a burger from Burton's next door. They will have your order ready on time if you order ahead! Our family loves Five Guys but the quality of the product and attention to detail has progressively gotten worse. We ordered online and had to wait about 15-20 minutes before the food was ready. We are used to the five-minute wait when they make the fries but it seemed like they were understaffed and flustered by the lunchtime crowd. When we arrived home to eat our food, they forgot to put the actual meat in my husband's burger. The bacon was also overcooked and dry. Mistakes happen but forgetting the actual burger meat??? Let me tell you a story... so, I am 17 and I am in a musical for my school called "Guys and Dolls". We have been working our tails off since February to get this musical perfect and we are a week away from our performance... and I hate it. The director is a complete control freak, he is extremely passive aggressive and will freak out at the littlest of things. Example: 2 days ago, we were rehearsing and I intentionally screwed up one of my lines as a joke, not a big deal, but my director disagreed. He started chewing me out because of it, saying that when I do stuff like that I screw up the whole musical because it messes up people's cues. Well, yesterday, we have play practice from 3-9 with a 30 minute break at 6:00. Five Guys is about 8 minutes from my school so I thought "I'll drive to Five Guys and get a burger." I get in my car and realize that my gas tank has reached empty. I know my car, so I think "it's only 3 miles away, I can make it there and back and still have enough gas to make it home," (18 miles away). I called up Five Guys, told them my order, and embarked on the 8 minute drive to the Burlington location. I arrived at the Five Guys, picked up my Cheeseburger, and ran out. I planned on eating my food at school, so I did not check to see if it is right. As a customer, it is usually safe to assume that everything will be ok. This was not the case. I arrived at my school about 10 minutes before our break ended. Excited that I still had time, I got my burger out of the brown paper bag it came with, unwrapped the aluminum foil, and saw a sight I never though I would see; A Five Guys burger with no patties. It had my toppings, cheese, green peppers, Jalapenos etc., but there were no patties. I was furious. "Who in the world makes a burger but forgets to put patties on it?" Angry at this sight, I got back into my car and drove over to the Five Guys again. While on the way I called them to tell them that they didn't put any patties on my burger. They agreed to remake my order during the phone call. I arrived at the Five Guys for the second time that day, in my hands was a burger with no patties. I went up to the cashier and said "you forgot to put patties on my burger." She did not apologize, she did not offer to reimburse me for my trouble and their mistake. Instead, she took the burger out of my hands and gave me a replacement. Now I was late for practice and fuming at the lack of customer service the cashier provided. It takes an idiot to forget patties on a burger, it takes a dumber person to not apologize for it in the first place. Unfortunately, I did not have time to argue. I got back into my car, which had even less gas at this point, and drove back to school. I arrived at school with a remade burger with patties, and no time to eat. I entered the building and my fellow cast-members were running at me, yelling at me, asking me where I was. I told them "Five Guys forgot to put the damn patties on my burger". My tardiness resulted in me being summoned by my director, and being chewed out for being late. "Are you even dedicated to this show?" he asked me, and I thought to myself "as much as Five Guys is dedicated to making burgers with patties". The beginning of this review was written in May of 2019. I just stumbled across it today and thought I would finish and post it. Know why? They are not large, one size and it comes on a burger bun. Enough for me, with their amazing fries. I love their fries, my hubby dislikes them. They are hand cut and have a little skin on them. I love Five Guys compare to other burger joints. They use fresh patties. Their oreo milkshake and fries were ok. Milkshakes have unlimited mix-ins including bacon. No charge for UNLIMITED TOPPINGS on burger. I had grilled onions, lettuce, pickles, green peppers, grilled mushrooms, and bbq sauce on my little bacon cheeseburger. Very tasty burger. This store needs to have an affective policy in place for deliveries that were not put together correctly. I ordered and paid for a bottle of Coke but the Uber driver blames the restaurant for not including the drink, and the restaurant blames the Uber driver. The restaurant states there is no easy way to get a refund on the bottle I can only pay for another Uber to bring me a bottle and pay for the bottle. The only suggestion was for me to come in. This Five Guys does it right for gluten free dining. During my time in the area, they got it down pat once I walked in the door. They knew my order and were already changing their gloves to prep the food. Hands down one of the best things about Five Guys is there fries. Not only are the portion sizes ridiculously huge, but they truest are GF as the fryer is dedicated since nothing else is cooked in them. Thirsty, like many other franchises, this one has the multi-option make your own drink with the ability to create ~120 combinations. The space is one the smaller side, but they have leant of tables to sit at and enjoy your food. They do a nice job of keeping the space nice and clean. read more

Five Guys is my favorite place for burgers. The patties are always juicy and the variety of toppings is gold. Their hot dogs are bomb too and you can add the toppings as well. If you order fries - even if it's "small" - you won't be able to finish them on your own. Cajun fries are meh - stick to the original ones. There's two things keeping me from giving them five stars. One - their buns need to be thicker because they hardly contain the patties and always end up soggy. Two - the decor is horrendous. Red and white is harsh on the eyes and those newspaper articles on the walls?! They have them all over the bathroom too - real corny. They need to hire a new marketing/design team. I have been going to this Five Guy's for years and basically go there every Saturday. The food is great, the restaurant is always clean and the workers are so nice. I ordered delivery but the delivery driver never showed. The delivery is done by a third-party company and it sucks, don't bother. I called in and came to pick up my food. Not only did they remake my food so it would all be hot, but they also gifted me complementary milkshakes and really made me feel so appreciated. They're simply the best. read more

Came into FG to get take out for my niece and I. The cashier, Ariel, was extremely nice and knowledgeable. I give him 5 stars and recommend him to be promoted! Then it all goes down hill.I ordered two CHEESEburgers and one fries and one Cajun fries: Got home and we started to eat and realized there was no cheese on either of our burgers. Our fries were cold, soggy, mushy. the Cajun fries had almost no seasoning on it. If you can't put cheese on a cheeseburger, then get out of the business. If you can't make edible fries, don't offer them. I filled out the survey and got a generic response something to the effect of "Sorry you were disappointed with blah blah. This is not what we strive for blah blah blah. We apologize blah blah blah. Please give us another try blah blah blah. Let me know if I can do anything for you blah blah blah." Here's what you can do and this should be common sense or company policy. 1) Give the customer a refund 2) If they want to you to come back, then offer an incentive. 3) Train their staff to in Quality Assurance I'd rather have my food done correctly the first time than go through all this BS. read more

The manager on the stay I visited the establishment was rude and when I didn't place my order fast enough (I am a 74 year old Vietnam Vet who has had open heart surgery and I speak a bit hesitatingly because of my stroke), she refused to serve me. I placed a phone order and got there 15 min later figuring I was late and could quickly pay and get out. Not so easy. 4 people were working the kitchen but no one was taking orders so I couldn't pay for my meal. They just ignored me and then us as others lined up behind me. After 5+ minutes I finally was allowed to pay and the young woman said it would be just a moment to get my order. 20 minutes later I told them to forget it and left in disgust. I don't think they bother to even put your order in the line of burgers being made until you get there and pay so what's the point of ordering before hand? Its nice to see they have so much business during these times and its a good burger, but over a half hour from ordering until its ready is unacceptable. Maybe the people who run five guys can realize that having huge cases of things people can be deathly allergic to sitting around their restaurant? (Peanuts). I have a MILD nut allergy and have had allergic reactions twice with their food. Make sure no one you know is allergic to nuts before you enter/order and this is literally the ONlY reason they're getting a one star review I have to wonder how many babies or little kids they've killed after being brought into place. I usually go there for lunch on weekdays. It can be crowded during lunch time but I personally love their Cajun fries which that give a ton of and their chocolate shake are awesome. Love it. I think only In&Out has a better fast-food-ish burger, and since they're not coming to the east coast anytime soon, I think five guys is a worthy substitute.
