Ya im from california and I came here to settle the argument whether In N Out is better then 5 guys. I piad $13 for a burger, fries and drink. I was stoked that there were a bunch of toppings I could add. But $13 for a fast food burger... no. You get a full meal from In N Out for $5-7. The burger sucked, the fries sucked, the soda was good though. The burger was over cooked and the fries came soggy. People say this is a terrible example of the Chain, but you wont find me at five guys ever again. I gave two stars instead of one because of the toppings option and the free peanuts. read more

First time my wife and I had been to one and we had heard great things about the chain. During the ordering process, we missed the sign that said "All hamburgers are cooked well done and juicy" (or words to that effect) and my wife ordered a medium-rare burger. The order taker cheerfully (and politely) explained the cooking concept and we thought why not? "Well done" and "juicy" tend to be mutually exclusive terms when applied to hamburgers, but maybe these guys had found a way to re-write the laws of physics, right? Regrettably, no. Five Guys has the greatest selection of toppings for hamburgers I've ever seen, in or outside of the US and that was the high point. The burgers were like vulcanized hockey pucks, the cheese had not melted (probably hadn't thawed out yet) and the chef was so enthusiastic with the toppings that my hamburger was basically a topping salad with a charred, meat-like substance added. The rolls were unremarkable. The price was higher than the fast-food chains but the ambiance and amenities were not up to McDonalds, Wendy's or Burger King. Or even Taco Bell. Five Guys has free peanuts for patrons. Near our table, a group of young kids (and their parents) were having a great time removing the raw peanuts from their shells and throwing them on the floor, which it looked like they had been doing for about an hour. I pitied the cleanup crew assigned to that table. Who knew you could find a third-world fast-food joint in suburban Burlington? read more

I've been to a few Five Guys as they've moved into New England in recent years. Maybe it's because they just opened, or because they just trained everybody, but this branch has it right. Burgers were PERFECT, food was ready quick, but the price is still just a little high for a burger. That's a company problem, not really a branch one though. Still a fan again it's not the best or worst, here's a secret to change things up if your bored with the usual. Order a grilled cheese, add a patty (or two if your glutenous), and then ask for whatever toppings. *BOOM* Five Guys "Patty Melt" achievement unlocked. I love Five Guys, I've been to at least a dozen locations and will continue to frequent them... however, I was pretty surprised at the state of this one. While the food was consistent with what I'm used to, the restaurant itself looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. Debris all over the floor and a layer of grease on everything. Coke machines were out of many flavors. Bathrooms were pretty abysmal, I won't go into details there. I didn't see sign of management anywhere. I hope this location can get its act together, it's not up to Five Guys' high standards and it won't last with so much other competition in Burlington. read more

OH MY GOD why is it always 50 degrees in here? The burgers are good standard Five Guys fare. But my word, I've been here ten times and it's always downright breezy inside. And I -like- cold. Three times I've asked the kids behind the counter to turn down the AC (see the customers in jackets?) but they usually say, "it's warm by the grill it doesn't seem cold to me." Dont eat at fast food joints and burger joints. However if you do like that kind of thing. Five guys is the best. Fresh beef is the key to this great burger. For a fast food burger Five Guys does a great job providing a nice little greasy patty with almost any basic topping you could want. I've had fries from other Five guys in the past and typically don't like them so skipped them on this trip so I can't judge them on these. You can't go wrong here for the price when looking for a tasty burger. If you want something with more luxurious and delicious toppings, check out Bobby's at the mall. One of my favorite things about Five Guys is the dependable classic rock soundtrack, and this place does not disappoint. Plus they've got the tasty burgers, the customizable toppings, the fries worth eating and one of those magical soda machines. I get the little hamburger with everything (plus hot sauce, minus mayo) and I usually have to clean up stray mushrooms and so on with a fork. The staff, though very young, has never messed up our order in even the slightest detail. Or been less than cheerfully patient and polite to all customers within shouting range. For fast food, this is definitely as good as it gets. I wouldn't recommend letting your burger get cold, but otherwise, yes. One of my best memories of this particular Five Guys involves a local woman, out with her mother (and aunt? grannie?), in her Uggs. She gave 5-Guys a disparaging look and said, "I've never been there and I never will." She was walking out the restaurant next-door, something called Burton's Grill, which, in season, features "Tailgate Snacks." We came here for lunch yesterday and it was our first experience with this chain. With a simple menu of burgers, hot dogs, and fries, we were easily able to decide on our order. We ordered a regular (2 patties) cheese burger with Everything and the medium fries. As it was the early afternoon, there was quite a crowd and it took awhile for our simple order to be built. Still, we did get to watch the cooks in action as they made everyone's orders. Our cheeseburger was quite good and possibly the best fast food burger we've had in awhile. Do not order for delivery. Working and remote school, ordered lunch for my group with arrival expected 12:09PM. I called at 12:20PM and was told it was picked up at from the restaurant earlier, and then the order was CANCELED at 12:30PM. I called Five Guys and this was blamed on the driver/delivery company. NOPE. You contract with them, your company took our money and agreed to deliver our food, it is your responsibility. When you want a fast big burger look no further! Double patty on a fresh bun. The fries are fresh and hot the staff is your typical 5 guys talent. A little step up from McDonald's after a second visit and rude service I won't be back! Clean all floors, bathroom, walls, and empty the trash cans over flowing on the floor. All 3 burgers got the wrong toppings. Maybe they were upset I asked for a different $10 bill that wasn't "dirty" should have asked for my money back and took my business elsewhere. I've heard a lot about how good Five guys Burgers is, and have seen their locations around, but never given them a chance until a recent trip to the Market Basket in Burlington. Everyone knows it's not a good idea to shop when you are hungry, and on this particular day I was starving. I mean straight up fiending for food so bad that had I gone shopping first, I would have spent twice my usual budget. Enter Five Guys and an equally hungry husband who suggested we get a quick bite to eat. The verdict? They have good burgers, but I didn't care for the fries. I did like the flexibility and simplicity of the menu, and next time I know I'm better off getting a single patty. I liked that you could get whatever you want on your burger. Two patties is just too much meat though! A single cheese covered patty packs enough delicious burger goodness to hit the spot for me. They also have a fun diner vibe! I don't go out for burgers often, but I'd be happy to give them another try sometime. read more

This place just opened so I thought I'd give it a try since I like the one in Natick/Framingham. I've been there twice and each time they have over-cooked the burgers to a point where they're chewy and tasteless. These burgers aren't cheap so it's really disappointing to get a burger that's basically ruined. I love everything from five guys - burgers, fries, milkshakes are all great. However this Burlington, MA location has literally ruined it for me. I placed my order at 12:25 pm on the dot, I ordered a little bacon cheese burger lettuce and tomato, no bun. That's it. I waited until 12:50 pm..25 minutes I waited for one single burger. I watched people get their food ahead of me, and larger orders were fulfilled before my single burger. I also watched my order sit on the far counter in the kitchen for 5 min before someone called out the number. I came from work (10 min away) at lunch and was late coming back all because I ordered one burger from a "fast" food restaurant. Not to mention the burger is over $7 with taxes and I literally only got lettuce, tomato, cheese, bacon, and a burger. Totally not worth it when you need to wait 25 minutes. read more

I don't eat at the big fast food places, so I can't compare Five Guys to them. I think it is comparable to other burger places like Fuddruckers, Wild Willy's, BGood and Bobby's Burger Palace. The burger was very juicy and tasted great. All the toppings tasted good and seemed to be fresh. They were very stingy with the lettuce, but the pickles, jalapenos, and ketchup were typical quantities. There was far more cheese than expected and 2 patties made for a lot of food. The burger and fries were very greasy. The bag they came in was drenched in grease. I don't recall ever seeing a greasier bag other than the fish and chips in Ireland. There were a ton of Cajun fries, and the seasoning was delicious. Seemed to be salt, paprika, and maybe some cayenne. The texture was unusual. They weren't quite crispy. Wild Willy's fries are better, but these Cajun fries were better than Fuddrucker's and much better than the abysmal fries at BGood. Five Guys has the fastest service of these 5 burger places by far. They were just a little bit slower than typical fast food places. I think I waited about two minutes after placing the order. Five Guys costs about the same as the other four. It was $12 for a cheeseburger, Cajun fries, and a large drink with free refills. Bobby's is a couple dollars more expensive than the rest. At 12:15 on a Thursday, the seats were half full and there was no line. Absolutely, positively, stay away if you have peanut allergies. Don't even walk in. They leave out boxes of peanuts with scoops for customers to help themselves. read more

Five Guys just opened near me. I'd heard a lot about them, how they were like the great In N Out (not available on the East Coast), blah blah blah. So I went in to try. First things first: Despite all the posters on the walls trumpeting how this is a CHEAP place to eat, it's not: This is a fast food joint, plain and simple, but two burgers, one order of fries and one drink (to share between myself and my daughter) cost $18. That's ONE order of fries and ONE drink, shared, plus the two burgers. That's not cheap by any stretch of my fast food imagination. OK, how about the food? The burger was good. The only extras they charge for are cheese (American cheese, unfortunately) and bacon. All the other extras are free, and include such normally-additional-cost items as fried mushrooms, green peppers, and jalapenos, as well as fried onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles, mustard, ketchup, etc. I got my burger mostly loaded with the food extras (but without the dressings). It was tasty, and there were enough toppings that after I was done with my burger, I felt like I had a little "salad" left on my plate. It was filling, too. Was it the greatest burger of my life? Not by a long shot. The bun is cheapo white bread, like the generic buns sold in the grocery store 6/$0.99, and not toasted so it pretty much fell apart as I ate. The burger was kind of juicy, but not as juicy as the very best...This was better than the generic fast food of McDonald's and Burger King, certainly...but on the other hand, I'd be hard pressed to say that it's actually better tasting than, say, McDonald's very good Angus burgers. Anyway, decent enough. NOT as good on the whole as an InNOut burger, but bigger (and twice as expensive). The fries? Well, they give you a ton of them. A small order was enough for two people. However, they're not cheap (small is $3, large is, gulp, $5!!!) And to me, they aren't all that fabulous. Yes, they are freshly cut on the premises...Nice...But they were rather limp steak cut fries. Little mush sticks, to be honest. Not anywhere as good as the fries at InNOut, nor those at McDonald's. But lots of them. Would I go back? Sure. But not every day. Probably not every week. Value, at $9/person, seems sorely lacking here. (And if you're not the kind of person who's going to load their burger with all the free toppings, I'd say the value is non-existent). The fries are plentiful but mediocre. As a West Coast transplant who had hoped for something that would finally fulfill the InNOut cravings...not so much luck. read more

Best fast food burger around and high on the list of best burger around. Love the toppings selection and the crispiness of the bacon. (Little tip -- order your jalapenos grilled, it cuts the spiciness but keeps the flavor.) I can't stomach Burger King anymore since this place moved to town. It's going to be expensive (for fast food) if you get double cheeseburger, fries and a drink. Personally, I just eat the free peanuts as a side (I prefer them to their fries and they're healthier to boot), and get a single bacon cheeseburger with loads of toppings. With a drink, I think it comes to $8 and change. Not a bad price to satisfy a burger craving. I do wish they'd turn the music down a little. I don't begrudge the staff having a good time at work, but I like to read while I eat, and the music can be distracting. read more

Overall: amazing food, disappointing service. The burger I had was great, and 5 Guys has my favorite burgers and fries. While the location itself was nice, my experience today was disappointing. We were a party of seven older students and decided to connect a couple tables in order to accommodate. After finishing our food, we started to turn them back to the way they were, but we were told by an employee that he would do it for us, which we appreciated. After exiting, someone else, who I assume was the manager, made the deliberate effort to go outside, stop us, and make us return to fix their tables. When we entered, he told the first employee, who had just begun to fix the tables himself, to stop and make us fix the two tables. While I understand he probably regarded us as annoying kids, we were certainly not disrespectful. There was no reason to make us renter the restaurant and do something his employee promised to do himself. Is it really that big a deal anyway? I will not be returning and really think that 5 Guys should hire someone who understands customer service. read more

So I am one of Five Guys biggest fans, however today I was astounded at the chaos of the kitchen. As I waited for my food I watched 4 customers walk back in the door due to their order being incorrect. As I sat there watching the woman standing next to me made an off hand comment about how we may want to check our orders and I thought nothing of it. But then curiosity got the best of me when my food arrived. As I opened my burger I noticed three things. No bacon, a load of pickles (that I'm allergic to and told the woman at the front explicitly), cold cheese, and no A1 steak sauce! If it had not been for the numerous customers (including the woman next to me who also did not have any beacon on her burger!) I would have said this was a one time thing. Almost 5 customers in a row. How can this be acceptable. So I walk back up and explain the situation, the kitchen manager was respectful and willing to help. I handed him the order receipt attached to my bag which was entered correctly (see image), with the hope of this may assure correctness with the new order. But no. Still no A1 steak sauce. At this point I was so hungry I had one of the fry cooks simply make me a side container and walked out. I'm so sad this location is not at the standard of many others. I hope this may draw attention to this issue so it can be resolved before I come back next time. That is if I even return to this location. Given the time it took to wait for the food, get it corrected, and then corrected again I'm sure I could find another location. read more

I've had Five Guys in numerous locations and I really enjoy it for a fast food place. This location, probably because its newer is crowded, not as clean, and generally it feels like the cooks are rushing things, but none of that outshined the burgers taste. Came here a few days ago with the fiance to try it out for a second chance. (First visit was very disappointing, so much so that it took me months to even give it a second chance). Service was okay, although the cashier seemed rather annoyed with us. Not sure why as there were only 6 people max in there at the time. I ordered hotdogs, a burger and cajun fries. The first time I came here, the hamburgers were awful, so I ordered hotdogs because how can you mess up a hotdog, right?Hotdogs were good (what a shock).....anyway, hamburger was yet again, awful. Bland, burnt, and greasy. Mmm sounds delicious -_- Cajun fries would have been good if they had salt. They had none whatsoever. I loved the burger, The fries might have been a little salty, but after a burger with ketchup, cheese, and bacon with it, it was perfect. Size and portions are excellent as well. Definitely recommend this place to my friends as well. I'll be back again and again!! read more
