Everyone messes up on the juiciness but you'd think this was marinated for at least three days in some god-like buttermilk mixture because it's NEVER a problem here that you get dried out strips. It pairs well with that Frangos sauce you want to take home and possibly bathe in or slurp up with literally anything else out of your fridge. Situated in an old breakfast spot that was easily my favorite within a 10 mile radius and is missed tremendously, I believe the old owner's sons turned this into what it is now and really didn't change much of the decor at all. Hit up the kiosk or go to the friendly staff manning two registers. Even on weeknights, 75% of the tables are filled with everyone from a group of Wilmington teenagers to young families and their kids gobbling down the poultry. It's vibrant and hopping at all hours inside. I'm a huge sucker for atmosphere, so when you hear the mostly 90's pop blaring out behind the kitchen's bluetooth speaker, you know you've come to the right place. I was working in the area and wanted to get some lunch. I did a quick search on Yelp and found lots of different options. I felt Frangos had good reviews and offered something different than I normally have. The place is located in small strip mall at one end. I parked right in front and walked inside. There was seating to the right and the order counter was to the left. I walked up to the order counter and checked out the menu. Of course, it was primarily chicken "fingers". They also offer a sandwich and a wrap. It is a pretty basic menu for fried chicken fingers. I decided to order the Trio combo meal which includes three chicken fingers, a slice of Texas toast, fries, choice of sauce and a drink. They asked if I wanted to make it spicy for $1.49 more. I asked how spicy it was and she said they could do light spice. I said let's do light spice then. They said they would bring my order out to me. There were a few other people seated but I grabbed an empty booth after I filled my drink. A short while later someone came over and brought my food. It looked really good and I dug in. The chicken was crispy on the outside and moist inside. The light spice but perfect for me. The fries were of the thinner variety, but not shoestring. I used the ketchup packets on the table for my fries. I did not use the BBQ sauce I got with my meal. I found it a little odd that it came with a slice of Texas toast but I ate it anyway and it was good. Overall this was a good stop and not something I normally would have tried. Place is hit or miss, you get a spicy wrap one day and it's so good but then you order again a few days later and order the same thing and all they did was sprinkle seasoning on the top to make it look like spicy chicken. I stopped at Frangos for a late dinner last week. It's a spacious place in a strip mall on Route 129. I got the Trio Combo, which is some of their chicken finger, Texas Toast, and fries. The finger were pretty good, fairly crispy, and juicy. They were a good size. There are only four sauce choices, which surprised me. I chose the "spicy" fingers but that just meant they sprinkled some mild spice on them. I suggest the regular fingers. I got the honey mustard sauce, which was decent. But I think they should at least add a classic BBQ sauce choice. They serve very thin fries, though they're not really the "shoestring" type. They were cooked well, crunchy, and I liked them. The Texas Toast is an odd choice but was light and quite tasty. It looks like a New England hot dog bun. It wasn't as crunchy as I'd have expected. All in all, there was plenty of quality food to fill you up, not bad for $14. The place was pretty busy and the staff is very efficient and very nice. They seemed to enjoy being there which always makes the experience more pleasant. Another virtue is that Frangos is open late, until 10:00. Been going to Frango's since they opened. The food is back to OG quality and they've really stepped up their game to serve good food again. Earlier in the year Frangos had a few months where the quality of the food went down and it was inconsistent in taste as they were very swamped with customers. Ok just ended up here because my girlfriend was craving some chicken...here is how that went: We were looking for this place and knew it must be near "As Good As It Gets" the excellent breakfast place. Turns out, this is a newer concept where apparently Frangos takes over the place in the afternoon and cooks chicken, fries, etc. after the breakfast place closes... It was kind of shocking because we thought they closed As Good As It Gets which would have made us sad even though we rarely get out to breakfast...so anyway, we walk in a bit apprehensive...which was made a bit worse because the music is blaring at a 100% to the point where any adult can't hear themself think even enough to order. I'm guessing this is mostly a takeout place and a spot for young people who are too foolish to even notice. I almost walked out immediately because my ears were starting to BLEED. Seriously though, way to scare away most people over 30. Alas we were starving and my gf convinced me to at least try a chicken finger...and WOW, the chicken is OUTSTANDING. The Texas Toast was very good too! I guess the short of it is the food was great! The atomsphere was awful (although they did turn the music down-I asked him to turn it down a little and he turned it way down which really did help me to enjoy my time there) so in the future, we will just do take-out, but I prob wouldn't rush back as I had PTSD just from walking in...and I am someone that has been to a ton of concerts, I just don't expect that in a restaurant...but again, the chicken was exceptional! read more

I've made a few more visits and found the food and order accuracy all over the place. I typically order spicy tenders with Frango sauce. Sometimes the tenders are spicy and sometimes they aren't. Another time, I wanted to try the sweet heat sauce but never got it. Once I wanted 2 Frango sauces butt got only one. I never ask for the Texas toast but sometimes it's included and other times it's not. I think they need to work on their consistency and quickly. They'll lose repeat customers otherwise. read more

I've had frangos a few times now - The first time was excellent, chicken was crispy, seasoned well and I love the Frangos sauce. I used the leftover sauce on breakfast sandwiches (trust me, try it) so when I ordered the next time I paid for two extra - I was given the spicy bbq instead which I didn't love. The texas toast is a griddled hot dog bun which I was a little surprised about. I ordered again Saturday night (early in the night, they weren't busy yet). The fries and chicken were both really soggy. I also again paid for 2 extra sauces and they were left out of the bag. I also ordered a diet coke but received a regular. Awesome take out experience. Can't believe I waited so long to try it. We ordered ahead on a Friday night and the food was ready right when I arrived. We got the tray of chicken fingers and a tray of fries for our family of 5. There were a TON of fries so we may dial it back next time, but we had enough chicken for dinner and lunch the next day. And the quality of the chicken was phenomenal. Crispy on the outside and very tender inside with NO tendons or chewy parts. And the seasoning and sauce is excellent too. And while I prefer vinegar based Cole slaw, theirs is really really good, filled with red cabbage. Definitely going back there soon! read more
