I love cheeseburgers and I love five guys, but tonight was an exception. Cashier was very friendly and took my order with a smile. However, when I got home I found that my burger had NO TOPPINGS. My heart is broken. When I pay 15$ for a hamburger please include the toppings. I need the crunch of the lettuce and pickle. I called the store twice to see if I could be issued a credit or a remake. Here is the most honest review you will get about Five Guys considering I worked at this establishment for over a year. To start, the food is great, and overall, the consistency of what to expect is on par. The employees for the most part genuinely care about the customers food and experience, as opposed to other traditional fast food spots. What separates Five Guys apart from other fast food is the use of fresh ingredients. Hours are spent prepping the ingredients in the morning. From the hand pressed, yes, hand pressed hamburger meat, to the shredding of lettuce heads, chopping of tomatoes and of course, the hand cut fries. Nothing is frozen. Unfortunately, with some customers all of this hard work goes by the way side when they get a glimpse at the menu and notice the prices. Five Guys does not offer any combo meals; everything is sold separately. This means that if you are free wheeling when ordering, you're likely taken back by a price of a burger and fries exceeding ten dollars. This doesn't happen too often, but for first timers this is sometimes surprising. That is until you take that first bite. The burgers are thick and juicy, each weighing in at 3.5 oz before cooking. As for the fries they are "boardwalk" style and can be order with either salt or Cajun seasoning, a spicy concoction. If you're not feeling a burger, there are also kosher (all beef) hot dogs, veggie sandwiches and grilled cheese sandwiches. All toppings are free and they range from grilled mushrooms and onions to green peppers and jalapeños (a little secret: asked for your peppers to be grilled). For even more flavor there is BBQ, hot, and A1 sauces to add to the meat. When comparing Five Guys to any other fast food joint, think of Chipotle. You don't consider Chipotle fast food and if you do, it's at least casual. No drive thru, no need to rush. Five Guys is about the experience. Sure, you may be thinking, "how can a burger place be this extravagant of an 'experience'?" But what it boils down to, you get what you pay for. Not gonna lie, I'm from Michigan and this is the first time I ever ate at Five Guys. I have heard great things about them so while on vacation we decided to get lunch here. I must say it exceeded my expectations. I expected it to be similar to Burger King or McDonald's but it's far from it. Their burgers are made fresh, I watched mine get made while waiting. The fries were great as well, we ordered both regular and Cajun and I can say I recommend both. The only downside I saw was that they were a little pricey but the quality of the food warrants the priceyness. Overall I will come here again anytime I'm in the area. Also if anyone from five guys is listening, please build one in northern Michigan. 5/5 would recommend. read more

Reading below comments I have to assume that the awesome staff didn't include the guy at the counter that we had. He was rude and clearly didn't want to be helping us at that time.
