Clean restaurant filled with peanuts and peanut oil, so careful if you have allergies. Ordered online and went, said my name and waited for them to finish the order. The fries are done fresh and the burger buns get dangerously soft and oily as you wait in the tinfoil wrapper. Fries are in the little containers but then topped off. They definitely fill you on the fries. Cajun fries are a little salty and spicy. Paper bags so watch the car with the oiliness. Overall great sandwich but have to eat it quickly. Traveling farther than 5-7 minutes makes them too soggy to eat. They number the sandwiches, too, in case you have large orders, this is helpful.

Everything as advertised! Nice customer service and quick service. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with onion tomato and double wrapped in lettuce sans a bun. Also got a regular cajun fries. They gave me two orders worth. I'll be back.

I only get one thing from here and that's the Cajun Fries, with the malt vinegar. I get a large and it's all I eat all day. Just love the seasoning as they go well with these potatoes, not every location gets it on point like here. Plus the staff is super friendly.

Regular Bacon Cheese Burger w/ Cajun Fries

For the very first time I had Five Guys in 2020! I had researched on YouTube on what I should get and spoke with family who frequented the establishment. I ended up ordering a Regular Bacon Cheeseburger (2 patties) BBQ sauce, mayo, ketchup, grilled onion, jalapeño, pickles and mushrooms. I also ordered the cajun fries and a milkshake with Oreos, Oreo creme, banana and strawberry flavoring and malted. The Burger: Simply put, I had the expectation that this burger would be the end all to other fast food joint burgers. My veggies were limp besides the pickles and I was glad I didn't order the extra 3rd Pattie because two patties were good enough for me. I felt like there needed to be more of a flavor profile because of the limp veggies. Maybe next time I will order fresh veggies instead of grilled because the taste and the texture was not there. Overall, the burger was underwhelming but the limit is endless with the FREE customization. The Fries: I got cajun because I wanted to taste something other than regular fries. I saw on a YouTube video that their Cajun Fries are super salty. They are! I tried it once but probably won't be trying again. The saving grace of the fries were the extras in the bag. I shared a large with my wife and for a guy who can't get enough fries it was a pleasure to have plenty left over outside of the cup. Next time I'll try regular fries. The Shake: The overall underwhelming meal I had needed to be saved by this shake. I drank... When I order EXTRA Oreos I expected CHUNKS of Oreos in my cup. I tasted 2 or 3 small chunks of Oreo cookies in the entire cup. I did not taste the strawberry and the malted flavoring was clumped powder. This Oreo shake let me down big time. It did have a very nice consistency but the execution of my options were lack luster. TRY AGAIN... In The End: Would I go back? Yes if I wanted to customize a burger again and try the regular fries. I would indeed let them redeem themselves with my shake because the texture was on point. I will not be craving their food however like some people crave Checkers Fries by themselves.

Five Guys Burgers and Fries of East Hanover I Salute You! Five Guys is probably the amount of men it would take to try and pry this Tasty Burger away from my greasy hands. Thankfully it's never gonna come down to the that. And that's a Good thing because a Guy might wind up getting bit trying a stunt like that and it ain't gonna be This Guy. Five Guys could also be the right amount of amazing people it takes to prepare such an incredible Burger. All of these fine folks certainly have my fullest unwavering gratitude. Although Shameeka is Definitely No Guy. She and her Coworkers do an Exceptional Job at Preparing all this delicious food on a daily basis. And it definitely doesn't take Five Guys to figure out that THIS is the Place to go when you're in the Mood For Delicious Burgers and Fries, Hot Dogs and Shakes. Thank You Five Guys Burgers and Fries from yours truly, The Burger Guy. Shake Hands With Beef!!

What I love about this place is that the quality is so consistent. The burgers are always made fresh and honestly I couldn't tell if there was any difference between these burgers and any one i'd find at a fine dining establishment. The fries always taste fresh and they aren't afraid to fill your bag with them, unlike McDonald's which will fill your large fries container about half way. I've also had the shakes here, but I wasn't crazy about them and it felt like I was gratuitously pouring excessive amounts of calories down my throat. Stick to the burgers and fries and you'll be good.

Call it 3.5 stars rounded up to 4. Dispensing with the fact (or my opinion) that there's a massive chasm of a gap between Five Guys and Shake Shack, this outpost of Five Guys does a more than adequate job in all departments. Given the consistency of all of my numerous visits to this location, this review reflects both my visit today and my previous visits generally. SERVICE: Having visited other locations with truly poor (piss poor in some cases) service, this location provides a very good service experience. Ordering is easy, the peanuts are well-stocked for pre-meal snacking, and the food comes out quickly (usually with a smile). One thing they might consider is serving eat in meals on trays instead of wasting all of those brown paper bags. FOOD: Burger - Generally very good, though like Elevation Burger, they would benefit from some additional seasoning. The fact that you can (and I always do) order about a zillion free toppings is a huge plus; love the sautéed onions and mushrooms. Unlike other places (incl. Elevation Burger) that will oblige the request for a lettuce-wrapped burger, Five Guys only serves a bunless burger in a disposable tin. Get with the program guys; lettuce wrapped should be an option. Hot Dog - Nothing to say other than that they make a great dog. Salty with a nice snap to it. Fries - Other than the fact that the fries emit massive amounts of grease (stained brown bags, anyone?), the fries is very good if not a bit salty. These guys make good food and that, coupled with the good service and clean restaurant, pretty much guarantee my return.

My family and I stopped in tonight for a quick bite on the way home from work. They weren't very busy but it still took nearly 10 minutes for someone to take our order. We initially used the kiosk but it wouldn't let us use the free charburger coupons we received from the corporate office for our previous trip in which the food was horribly overcooked. The woman, who appeared to be the manager, told us someone would be with us before deciding to take the order herself because the cashier was trying (slowly) to get other orders together. She then proceeded to quibble with us over what items apply to the coupons we were trying to use despite my wife showing her the email with all the details. We wound up just getting a burger and a kid's meal because it wasn't worth the hassle and my wife lost her appetite fighting with someone over a free sandwich. While we waited, the manager proceeded to berate the cashier for moving too slow during their "busy time" (though we were the only ones in the building) and they proceeded to argue in front of everyone for a good 15 minutes. In his defense, he was trying his best. In her defense, he was moving way too slow. Regardless, that's not a conversation you have in front of customers and it was clear the drama distracted both of them from doing their job properly. My burger was somehow undercooked (a 180 from our last visit) and the fries tasted like the oil hadn't been changed in a while. The lettuce was brown and my daughter's chicken bites were mostly breading. It was a total disappointment but not nearly as bad as a manager/supervisor giving a man who seemed to be disabled an impromptu performance review and threatening to hire a replacement for everyone to see. I wound up feeling horrible for the cashier as the argument extended past us eating our food. My wife sent a complaint over to corporate but I can't envision a scenario where we'd return to this location. I'd never campaign for someone to lose their job, especially in these tough economic times, but the manager either needs to not be in that position or given a lesson on professionalism. I'm all for dinner and a show but this was ridiculous.

Being unceremoniously tossed from the rarified heights of "Yelp Elite Status" was a painful, mortifying indignity, but now I'm reduced to reviewing one of thousands of fast-food hamburger places that have very little to differentiate or distinguish one from the other? Reviewing a diner is one thing, even reviewing a cemetery is at least...well, different, but...MCDONALD'S!?!? (In fairness to myself, I did review a Dunkin Donuts when I still had that exalted "Yelp Elite" status, and reviewing a Dunkin Donuts has to be as egregious as reviewing a McDonald's. Only thing more egregious would be reviewing a Domino's Pizza, and...so far...I haven't degenerated to that humiliating level!) Truth is, I was never a fan of any McDonald's...ever...not even as an adolescent gorging myself on every crappy "fast food" available. As a teen, I endured 4 or so miserable months as a McDonald's employee. Did I have worse jobs than that? Maybe (cleaning toilets at AT&T...also as a teen...comes immediately to mind), but I'd be hard pressed to try and recall which ones were worse. Or paid less. In subsequent years, if I happened to be starving and nothing else was available (I'm thinking of when I used to ride up I-95 to Rhode Island a lot, and there was a McDonald's in virtually every rest stop), I'd buy a Big Mac, fries, and a black coffee, but I never developed a fondness for this greasy repast of empty calories. (The Big Mac Burgers were always a lot smaller than they appeared in the advertisements, and the "Secret Sauce" appeared to be nothing more than globs of hastily applied Russian salad dressing.) Truth is, I haven't had McDonald's food in many, many years (by the time "Super Size Me" was released to theatres in 2004, I had already long ago given up McDonald's food; by the way, if you never saw the movie, you should). So...what exactly am I going to review? Well, several years ago, I worked in the area (not cleaning toilets), and driving in on those bleak, fuzzy mornings when I was faced with the prospect of 8 hours of stressful tedium (contradictory words? Yeah, but it's the best way to describe the overall vibe of that particular job), I'd often pull into the drive-in window to get a large black coffee. The people manning the window always moved along pretty fast (which was important, because I was always chronically running late for the job), and there was a young blonde woman...I believe she was the manager; she often pitched in to help the other scrambling employees, not afraid to "get her hands dirty," and she often served me the coffee. She was always friendly, always had a ready smile and a nice greeting, even when they seemed swamped. Recently, I had to venture to nearby St. Barnabas Hospital during the early morning hours, and after that ordeal, I was hungry. I don't know if I was feeling adventurous or foolhardy or had been stricken by what Poe referred to as "The Imp of the Perverse," but I decided to go inside and get something to eat. I had never been inside. Everything seemed clean, spotless. They had what I guess could best be described as "Self-Ordering Kiosks" set up in the front and I inwardly groaned. I'm not a fan of "Self-Check Out" counters in grocery stores, and I don't like to punch in my order to some machine. Thankfully, a pleasant young woman by the cash register asked if she could help me. I placed an order for a bagel with egg, bacon and cheese; hash browns; and a large black coffee. The price was very reasonable, which I hadn't been expecting. And service was fast. I didn't see the young blonde manager (hopefully she's moved on to better things) but there were a lot of people at work in the back, and they seemed to be performing their tasks efficiently if not necessarily with gusto and enthusiasm. My order was ready quickly, and I was able to get back on the road without any discernable delay. Was it great food? As I've said, I never, ever, thought it was. But it filled up that hollow spot in my stomach, and the caffeine in the coffee supplied some much needed energy. I don't know when I'll be back in the area again, but if I need that blast of caffeine...or maybe even some of those empty calories...I have no problem patronizing this place again. For a McDonald's, this one has always...at least in my experience...been a stand-out. Why not 5 stars? Because it's still McDonald's. But definitely one of the better ones.
