We used to go to this location a lot and it was solid early on but the last couple times have been disastrous. My family and I stopped in tonight for a quick bite on the way home from work. They weren't very busy but it still took nearly 10 minutes for someone to take our order. We initially used the kiosk but it wouldn't let us use the free charburger coupons we received from the corporate office for our previous trip in which the food was horribly overcooked. The woman, who appeared to be the manager, told us someone would be with us before deciding to take the order herself because the cashier was trying (slowly) to get other orders together. She then proceeded to quibble with us over what items apply to the coupons we were trying to use despite my wife showing her the email with all the details. We wound up just getting a burger and a kid's meal because it wasn't worth the hassle and my wife lost her appetite fighting with someone over a free sandwich. While we waited, the manager proceeded to berate the cashier for moving too slow during their "busy time" (though we were the only ones in the building) and they proceeded to argue in front of everyone for a good 15 minutes. In his defense, he was trying his best. In her defense, he was moving way too slow. Regardless, that's not a conversation you have in front of customers and it was clear the drama distracted both of them from doing their job properly. My burger was somehow undercooked (a 180 from our last visit) and the fries tasted like the oil hadn't been changed in a while. The lettuce was brown and my daughter's chicken bites were mostly breading. It was a total disappointment but not nearly as bad as a manager/supervisor giving a man who seemed to be disabled an impromptu performance review and threatening to hire a replacement for everyone to see. I wound up feeling horrible for the cashier as the argument extended past us eating our food. My wife sent a complaint over to corporate but I can't envision a scenario where we'd return to this location. I'd never campaign for someone to lose their job, especially in these tough economic times, but the manager either needs to not be in that position or given a lesson on professionalism. I've only been here twice and one time was when it first opened. This is in the same location as the Kentucky fried chicken used to be which I used to go to occasionally. It's a pretty decent burger. 3.5 STARS 1/4/23: Stopped in HBG. The place wasn't crowded. It was around 3:30 pm. We ordered at the counter. The place does have a drive-thru. Ordered the special pretzel pub burger and fries. You're given a ready buzzer (or whatever it's called). In the mean time, we went to the beverage counter to fill our cups. The ice machine didn't work. We did inform the counter person. They immediately fixed it. Apparently, the machine needed to be refilled with ice. The buzzer went off. We were surprised because instead of getting up, one of the HB people walked over to our table with our order. Talk about service in a fast food restaurant! The fries were good and crispy. The Coca Cola beverage was the real thing! The burger meat wasn't bad or great. The pretzel pub burger bun was just okay. If the burger and bun were better, my rating would've gone up. We were staying with family who suggested we dine here for lunch. I'd never heard of Habit Burger, but this Santa Barbara-based chain has apparently extended its reach through the East and West coasts. When I asked about the quality of chow, my family described it as "very decent fast food". Color me intrigued. The menu plays to its strengths, so there's little besides burgers. But don't let that make you think it's limited by any means. Their signature Charburger appears in a variety of forms - with different proteins, numbers of patties, breads, toppings, and sauces. I was especially surprised to see an ahi tuna burger and not one but TWO veggie burgers (one with their vegan veggie patty, the other has an Impossible patty). Upon ordering, customers are issued a pager that both lights up and vibrates when the food is ready. It took much longer than I would have suspected from a seemingly fast casual establishment, but the food is made to order. This is most evident with the side dishes; our fries were hot and crisp. Most surprisingly, the tempura green beans stole the show. My husband seemed to enjoy the ahi tuna burger he ordered, but he took quite a few bites from my tasty Impossible burger. When we soon discovered they'd forgotten the avocado I'd ordered, the guy at the counter was immediately apologetic and set about making a whole new burger. For free. From co-workers, my wife had heard that Habit Burger in Florham Park was a great new lunch spot. We had the opportunity to go there this week, and I agree, it was a great new find! Habit Burger is a step above fast food. While there is a drive thru, and the building was a former KFC, the quality of the food was far better than fast food. I guess a good comparison is 5 Guys or Smashburger, but I think I like Habit even more than those. We had "char-burgers" which we both thought were delicious! The fixings on them were good and for more, there is a bar with jalapeños and other extras. The fries were excellent as well! Another thing to love about Habit is the price. Very reasonable for a nice meal. If you're in the area and want a great burger, I suggest you give this place a try! read more

This place kind of sneaks up on you, how much you like it. I passed by while I was craving a burger at work and gave it a shot based on it's milkshake availability. After perusing their somewhat innovative menu (teriyaki burger? ooo) I settled on a BBQ bacon burger, fries, and a milkshake. And let me tell you, it hit. It quelled my craving, but I didn't think much of it, and then moved on (to Hangry Joe's, check out my review for that one). Weeks later, I'm again in the area, this time with my partner, and we both want milkshakes (since at this point the doctor didn't tell me how fat I was getting). Again, I got a burger, fries, milkshake, and I think we dabbled in chicken bites as well, this time. The missus had something similar, I honestly forget, because this time around, it not only hit, it BANGED. Really hit the spot. Felt good about the choice. Ever since then, I've found myself wishing it was closer, so I could grab a burger and go. I want to try their weird fried green beans because what fast food place has green beans. Meh. I appreciate that you're able to customize the burger. Just didn't really work for me. I just finished a burger and I feel like I'll be tasting it for many hours. I utilized the online ordering system. They got the order done on time--a few minutes early in fact. They prepared both of our burgers to our specifications. Unfortunately, I realized too late that they forgot to include the drink with the combo meal. If I was supposed to prep that myself, they should have told me. I was clearly clueless as to where the pick-up spot was, as it was my first time. A staff member directed me to the pick-up spot just as another staff member was bringing the food out. I informed said staff member that it was my first time. Certainly disappointing first impression that they couldn't get my order correct in its entirety. As for the fries, one order was regular. One order was extra crispy. Both orders were identical. There was nothing special about the burger. I've had far better patties from many a competitor. Habit burger is quite tasty and deserve 5/5 stars! I have gone to this spot and another Habit Burger location several times. This even I dined inside and the service was excellent. We were greeted and helped by an employee named Brock who deserves a shout out because he was extra friendly and took the time to joke around with us. I ordered the bbq bacon burger which is delicious. It has excellent flavor and was cooked great. The fries are a perfect side. Although other times I've had the sweet potato fries which are a delicious option. My girlfriend got the teriyaki burger. They accidentally put cheese on it when she requested no cheese. But as soon as we told them they corrected the mistake and brought out another burger with no cheese. Brock even brought some boom sauce out for our fries which was pretty flavorful as well We both got Oreo shakes. Which are must haves. They're absolutely delicious. Asked for no mustard and you could tell they put mustard on and realized the error of their ways and scraped it off. I hate mustard. I can tell when there has been mustard. Superior customer service! I've been here a handful of times, and the cashiers are always so patient with me. Also, their chicken nuggets are fries taste so fresh! You could go across the street to McDonald's and get 10 nuggets + fries for about 2 to 3 bucks less, but you never know how long they have been sitting out. At Habit Burger Grill, you get a buzzer and it usually takes a good 10 minutes to get your food (so I like to think this is better for me!). Another bonus is that their ranch dressing is to die for!! I like to ask for an extra to take home. :) This is a staple lunch spot in the Florham Park area and makes up for the Smashburger that recently closed! read more

Gross. Taking my order was quite the trial. The order taker would not listen just kept repeating my order incorrectly as if he was guessing. I actually had to say " if you'd let me get a word in edgewise"... So order was wrong at window and still wrong when I ate. ( tried to) Driving away I ate fries they were very good. Stopped about 10 min drive back to work - burger was disgusting snd I do not say that lightly. Mayo - stated repeatedly no mayo. Ok lose the bun. Burger - frozen puck of flesh pink "meat" . I'm concerned that the Habit Burger in Florham Park might be in trouble. They seem not to be very busy most of the time (unless all of their business is delivery). They've undergone a lot of changes in onsite management. Seems as though they're down to their "C Team" these days. Most worrisome is that they shut-down willy-nilly. Seriously. Like today, Saturday, March 2nd--their app says that the Florham Park location is closed. (I always pre-order online so I can pick-up my food without waiting.) I'm thinking that perhaps they're on their way out of this location. That would be very unfortunate. IMHO, they have the best veggie burgers around. It has 28 grams of protein. Wow! Solid 4 Stars - New burger spot chain that will succeed. I was pleasantly surprised on a few things: Drive through was quick and efficient (despite hearing a lot of negative press from the locals). It's made to order so you will have to wait peeps! The staff was like overly friendly. I mean very accommodating, and this was at the drive-up! Their prices and the amount of food you get seems generous. Quality is good. We ordered two burgers (Cali and BBQ) and it was good albeit a little messy. Their chicken sandwich was tasty as well. Fries and rings were hot and delicious. The only negative I can think of is the parking lot configuration. If try to circle the place and someone is at the drive up (and it's backed up) it's difficult to loop. Hard to explain. Limited parking so on a busy day I can see it being an issue. Great crispy onion rings, good sandwiches and mediocre fries, the newest fast casual burger joint is aok for a meal. Order at the counter, they give you a pager and you fetch your food. Ours came out in less than 10 min, fairly quick. Two sammiches and sides were about $15. Unlike the competition with peanuts it's very comfortable to sit in a booth here a while. One gimmick is the fixings bar, all the pepperoncini (little yellow hot pepper slices) you can eat. Vegetarian rating: 2.5 stars for the veggie burger and salads. Confusingly the portobella burger has beef. Good but the competition in this space is brutal, I wish Habit well. read more

I had a bad experience with them this week. I ordered using the delivery service, the wrong order was delivered, and when I called to complain I was told that I would have to complain to the delivery service. I re ordered through the app but came by the store to pick up my order in person, and this time only half the order was in the bag. When I called to complain again, I was told to complain on the website. I never heard back. Two orders botched on the same night. I recommend avoiding the app, just go to the drive through, I've never had a problem in person. read more

wanted to try this place out after my friend raved about it on social media. i ordered online and had curbside pickup option (they said it better to go thru the drive thru when you arrive instead of pressing "i'm here") but regardless i parked in the parking lot for the server to come and bring my order. the burger reminded me of five guys - like it tasted like they actually cooked it instead of microwaving it like mcdonalds, but i wouldn't consider it amazingg. they definitely have different options than other places like teryaki so i get why some people will choose this place over others - but since i have other burger places closer to me, i don't know if i'd go searching for these specific burgers in the future. the milkshakes were thick but nothing different from other milkshakes either. the only really good thing i liked about this place comparative to other burger joints is the fact that they offer free burgers often via their app! overall, okay burgers and shakes but great deals! read more

This is the 3rd Habit Burger Grill that I have been to in NJ. It seems that the grand opening of this location was very recent. However, they did not seem to have any negative issues. Although the restaurant was packed, the line moved fast. Food tasted freshly prepared with quality ingredients. Staff was personable and professional. Dining environment was clean. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion size of the food. I plan on being a regular at this location. P.S. Do note that this is a Fast Casual restaurant, and it does take some time for the food to be prepared. If you are expecting Fast Food turnaround time, this will take longer. read more

NO parking. Put all those employee parking signs throw them in the back. One way out thru the (do not enter) way. Catered more for 28 year olds and younger. While there the booths are poorly made we felt every time a child/adult got into the booth behind us or out. The place is all hype. We went just once. Don't think we'll ever go back. Sorry my husband said Smashburger shacks are better, my fish burger was good, sons burger was (meh) ok. Tables were dirty, and sitting is limited due to not enough booths to sit at. I'm now hooked on Habit ! The overall experience has greatly improved since my first visit. I love the taste of their burgers . The steak sandwich and tuna are awesome as well. Fries are definitely good but become great with the garlic sauce. Nice onion rings as well. Parking is a drawback as I mentioned in my previous review but that can be remedied by parking in the adjacent lot and walking a few extra seconds. Really friendly employees. One time my burger was made wrong and I just wanted them to add what was missing. They insisted on making me a new burger and let me keep the slightly mistaken one.
