I have had multiple bad experiences at this location. Every time I place an online order I always have to wait at least 10 minutes after my order time for the food even though I purposely arrive after the order time to ensure its ready. One time the staff was too busy talking to each other to notice I was even waiting for an online order and allowed my food to get cold. Why have online ordering if you cant even fulfill basic functions? Usually the food is still decent but this time they also screwed up my order in not only one but two ways, on top of poor service. I like the Five Guys franchise but hate this location. Also the guy who always is working the register is very rude and provides the worst service I've ever seen. Please get some quality management in here to turn this place around. read more

Best burger for the buck value in EL. Get a regular burger and split the fries with a friend....skip the soft drink and load up on peanuts. You won't leave hungry. Want a beer with your burger? Peanut Barrel & Crunchy's are both good bets. read more

I love this place. I recommend it to everyone. I love their big juicy burgs and Cajun fries. The staff is friendly and laid back. Do not waste your money I came here on super bowl Sunday to get a their two patty burger and a regular sized Cajun French fry. The only positive thing I experienced was that by the time I ordered, my food was bagged and ready in about 3 minutes, which is the quickest I've ever seen a five guys prepare my order. I was a little suspicious though after seeing about 7-8 employees behind the counter, one on the register and one handling the fries and bagging, the other 5-6 employees were just standing away from the grill talking and cracking jokes, so I was surprised when my food came out so quickly. However when I got to my car I checked the bag and opened the tinfoil and saw that the burger was about half as small as they normally are, and it wasn't hot and fresh like normal either. It was also pressed down and looked sad and pathetic. Furthermore, the fries were limp and only lukewarm rather then being hot and crisp like normal. The worst part was after eating all of the food, I realized that they had scammed me on the portions. I've gone to many five guys and have had the same combo at many locations, and I can confidently say that I am STUFFED after every time I eat at a five guys. However with this location I was left unsatisfied and extremely hungry. There is absolutely no way that the burgers are the same size as other locations, and there's no way that the distracted employees gave me the amount of fries that I ordered. Upon review I realized that they gave me a small fry rather then a normal size, and instead of filling up the bag like they normally do with more fries, they just filled up the cup and it ended up flipping upside down in the bag. Really good burger, but not the best I've had. About as good as the burgers at Bonnie's (on Saginaw in Lansing) if you customize it just right. $11.50 for a double cheeseburger, fries, and a regular drink. They will throw in an extra scoop of fries into your bag, but beware--they will toss them on top of your burger and you will have to dig it out of the hot fries. Oh, and for some reason the rugs and floors are slippery. Doesn't seem safe. Wanna give it a 4.5, but doesn't deserve a full 5. read more

As usual, the burgers were beyond excellent. Katrina was a fantastic server. The fries, however were a bit subpar. That's the only reason I didn't give a five star rating. Bland burgers and fries and AWFUL service. I braved the long line when it first opened because of all the hype that it was getting and expected something amazing for the price i was paying and got a bland burger and tasteless fries. I decided to give it another try on the off chance that maybe they were having a rough day and this experience was worse than the first. Even though there weren't that many people in line I had to wait forever for a simple cheeseburger and fries. And not only that, but the server skipped me in order to serve food to police officers! Even though my number was before them and I had paid and been waiting for my food for a while. I was so pissed, a customer is a customer regardless of their position. I am always surprised when someone gives a Five Guys less than 4 stars. Every Five Guys I have eaten at uses nothing but the freshest ingredients, great fries cooked in peanut oil and great hot dogs too. My only complaint is that only the ones on the East Coast carry their sarsaparilla. read more

So I searched Yelp for a good burger place and I didn't find one here. Yes the burger was better than your typical fast food burger but I've had much better at other sit down/bar style restaurants. five guys really knows how to put the top down. first discovered on ye olde road trip to the east coast (see our review for Anna's), our excitement level was through the roof when we heard five guys were coming to town. with canjun seasoning in tow, they arrived triumphantly one fateful fall day. our lives have never been the same. see other reviews for comments on portion size. we are pro-healthy distribution of foods (i.e., gluttony), so we've never gotten angry when our burger ended up being a double cheeseburger, and our bag was filled with extra fries. if you find any of these things offensive, you should probably go somewhere else. you can get as many toppings as you want for free--be sure to take your time deciding what to get. it could really change your life. cajun fries are better than regular fries, but they're both delicious and fresh. eat some peanuts while you wait, and write a five guys love note on the index card to leave for future patrons. we have nothing bad to say about this place. five guys--call us. xoxo, bethycorn read more

I like a good burger as much as the next person, so I was really excited to stop in here for lunch one weekday afternoon. I waited in line almost 10 minutes to get my order in, debating the whole time if I should stick around. Then I waited another 15 minutes to get my burger and fries. The burger was just ok, not as good as other 5 Guys Burgers I've had. But the biggest problem with this restaurant was the odor - it smelled like a bathroom in the entire restaurant. I love myself a good burger...however they advertise juicy and this is not a juicy burger..also only american cheese?? If you want a great burger customized to your liking with fresh ingredients then I highly recommend five guys. For some they will complain about the time it takes. Many should consider that a little wait won't starve you to death. Then again most people have no patience what a pity. Fries have always been good. Personally I enjoy the Cajun style they offer. Peanuts are free for nut lovers. And remember cut the workers a little slack appreciation goes a long way. P.S. If you are watching your finances only make this a once in awhile treat. read more

This place is pure and simple burger heaven. Don't try to waste my time with lame advertisements or "healthy" options, they've mastered what's in the name, burgers and fries. I'd recommend getting a single patty if you're on lunch at work, unless your job is researching food comas. The peanut oil is a nice touch for the fries, and the cajun option makes the already perfect fries just a touch better imo. Ci wish more restaurants were like 5 guys, I don't need incessant commercials with stupid jingles to get me to come in, make your food the best it can be and don't try to color it as anything but what it is. Awesome burgers but service kind of sucked. I ordered online and got a confirmation that it would be ready within 15 minutes. I was running late and didn't get there to pickup until 25 mins after my order and when I went inside they had completely forgot to do the order. Ok no big deal. But then I confirmed at the register the items and they assured me they were correct. I get home and the extra items are on the wrong burger and both burgers were missing the bacon I was charged. Just like the name says, burgers and fries are the only thing you need to consider eating here. Both are homeruns. The regular burgers come with two patties and almost every topping imaginable. I'm pretty sure the only one that costs extra is bacon. Beware, these burgers are sloppy. I would not recommend taking a date here, it will get messy. The taste is exceptional though and it has to be the best burger for its price in East Lansing (other then the $1 burgers at Burgerama and Burger Bash, of course). The fries are one of the most underrated/overlooked part of Five Guys in my opinion. They are delicious and the perfect match for the burger. They also give a got helping of extra fries to go in the bag when you order fries. This is my favorite burger place in East Lansing. You can't beat the value and the taste. The only downside that I can find is that after I eat a meal here I feel like I need to go run a few miles. read more
