After paying $15 from a meal without a drink I was severely disappointed to open my bag when I got home and see my fries were basically empty and my burger had one tiny piece a lettuce on it. I cannot imagine how someone would place the fries in the bag this empty (And no they were not spilled along the bottom of the bag)

I know what I said earlier about reviewing chain restaurants, I don't need you to remind me. Sometimes there's just exceptions to the rule. I wasn't sure if I wanted to steer my review more towards Five Guys generally, or this locations specifically. So it is what it is, figure it out. Anyway, I'm on MSU campus and in an area where there's several unique food options. My first Five Guys experience was many years ago and I love this place. My daughter and I decided this is the lunch for the day and we stop in. We each get a cheeseburger "all the way", share a regular size fry, and drinks. The bill came to roughly $25, and we grab our seats waiting to be called up for our order. We grab a paper bowl of shelled peanuts to munch and kill time. About 10 minutes later, we each have a burger in our hands that we aren't sure how to eat. The "all the way" burger has so many toppings it barely fits in your mouth. Read the menu for the details. Everything is clean, everything is fresh. The prices may be a little more than usual, but trust me, it's worth the experience. Being in business for over 30 years, and having over 1500 locations, I certainly can't speak for every place, every where, every time. What I can say, is I've never had a bad experience, bad service, or bad food ever at Five Guys. At any location. I'm sure there's that exception to the rule though. I 4 starred this place because it's great and I love it. I didn't 5 star it because it's a chain restaurant. It's my review, so I can do that. Make your own review if you don't like it. I'm definitely coming back. Over and over. Mainly because these are some really good burgers. But I also like taking pictures of burgers and these are some very photogenic burgers. Eat up.

Best...burger...EVAR! OK, well maybe not ever...it's not like they use artisan buns or gourmet toppings, but what more can I say? Burgers are enormous and delicious, and prices are reasonable. It's not the best food I can possibly imagine, but for the type of eatery it is, it doesn't get any better. They lose a star due to their hours. I'm probably being nit-picky, I know, but at 10 PM on a Friday night, I should be able to find a better place than a bar to sit down to a meal before a midnight movie showing. But I digress: I challenge you to find a better 50's-themed burger joint that is well-priced, clean, consistent, & delicious. Not gonna happen. A meal of a bacon double cheeseburger with everything ("All The Way", which is cheese, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, onion, mayo, and probably some other stuff I'm too lazy to look up), regular fry, and small drink will only set you back a few more dollars than a comparable meal at Culver's or even Wendy's (it was about $12). But the food at Five Guys is way better than at those other places. Additionally, unless you specify a "small" burger with only one patty, it will automatically be a double burger & they give you a big cup of fries & then dump a bunch more into your bag, so portion sizes are VERY generous! They keep it simple: they only have a few items on their menu, but what they do, they do very well, and maybe most importantly, very consistently. I've been to this place around a dozen times & to the Ann Arbor location a few times & I have yet to have a bad experience. The fries are never burnt, it always tastes like they just changed the oil, and the Cajun seasoning on the spicy fries is never too heavy. The burgers are always cooked to perfection; juicy and delicious, never dried out. How many times have the overused oil and day-old patties at McDonald's, Wendy's or Burger King ruined a meal for me? More times than I care to admit. Pay the couple extra bucks & go to a place you'll be happy to tell your friends about. Simple as that.

I seriously love this place!!! Not having a Five Guys in the city where I live sucks - this is the closest one a little over an hour away. Well worth the drive. Friendly staff, great food! Just remember, the "little" burger is a regular sized burger!! i forgot last time & ended up with 2 meat patties! The fries are fabulous too!!!

    overall...not too shabby

The classic MIchelob is absent. I had ham and bean soup, cheeseburger and fries. The soup is homemade and just what I wanted. Burgers are all smash-style; cooked to order and still juicy. To me, the fries are the hit; hand-cut fresh potatoes fried to order and great! Saturday afternoon was a little spotty but they got the job done. Apparently it's owned by the guys who own Lou & Harry's, and it opened in 2021. I guess I must have passed by without noticing it. I'm glad we stopped in because the food was really good. The menu specializes in cheesesteak hoagies and burgers, so I was excited to try a cheesesteak as we don't have a ton of options for them in Grand Rapids. We got the pazzo: Shaved ribeye steak, grilled onion, banana pepper, Jalapeno pepperjack cheese, pepperoni, and ranch marinara. You can upgrade to a combo which comes with fries and a drink, which we did. We got the cajun fries, but you can get waffle fries, ranch fries, or cheese fries. Our food was ready really quickly and it was super hot and fresh. The sandwich was big enough to split for a decent sized meal. There was quite a bit of meat and all the toppings worked well together. It was definitely greasy and pretty messy, and really salty - but I liked it. It's not something I could order regularly, but it was so tasty. The fries were fresh, thin cut, and the cajun seasoning was also really salty. If you're sensitive to salt - maybe avoid this spot. The bread of the sandwich got a little soggy, but it wasn't completely falling apart, which was good. This place is open late on the weekends and would be great for intoxicated or hungover college kids. They were doing quite a few Grubhub orders while we were there - I don't think I'd recommend this as delivery food as the sandwiches probably get pretty soggy if left to sit for too long. I'd come back and try more of the sandwiches.

I was with some friends and old coworkers when dining here, so I wasn't dining alone today. I was surprised there wasn't more people here since it was happy hour, but such is life. I ended up getting a hamburger with truffle fries as an upgrade since it sounded tasty. The burger was fantastic, though I wish it was a bit bigger. The place is clean with plenty of seating inside and I'm sure outdoor seating when the weather gets nicer. I think they are pretty well known for their pizza, but we just went with an order of the buffalo chicken dip, which was bubbling hot and a large portion (we had plenty of leftovers). It was quite salty, but I guess that's to be expected. The chips were fresh and crispy and I liked that they give you some crostini as well. The drink prices were wild -- I got a large (maybe 20 oz) seltzer for $3!! I couldn't believe it. Service was friendly, basketball games were on the TVs, and I liked our visit. When…read moreI heard about a new Nigerian restaurant in East Lansing, I was excited to give it a try. When I arrived, I was the only customer. I was greeted with a simple "hello," which gave me a good first impression. The restaurant itself looks very new, with a decent amount of seating, including some lounge seating tucked away in a small hallway. There was a large TV on wheels displaying a slideshow of the menu, which was a bit unconventional but not necessarily a bad thing. At the register, I started asking the cashier a few questions to understand the menu better. The layout was different from other Nigerian restaurants I've been to, and I wasn't seeing the exact dishes I usually order. However, instead of being helpful, the cashier responded with a snarky attitude, making it feel like my questions were an inconvenience. He then suggested the Spartan Bowl, listing the ingredients, and I thought it sounded good. He mentioned needing to check if they had the drumsticks for it, then walked away. I stood there waiting for a while before assuming he had gone to prepare my order, so I sat down. About 10-15 minutes later, he returned with a box in his hand. Without a word, he rang up my order, I paid, he bagged my food, and he simply walked away. No "thank you," no "enjoy your meal," no effort to make me feel welcome--just silence. When I looked at my meal, it didn't look appetizing, but I kept an open mind. Unfortunately, the taste confirmed my concerns. The plantain was overcooked and burnt, the sauce on the chicken was unpleasant, and the chicken itself was tiny and unappealing. The only redeeming part of the meal was the jollof rice, which was just decent. I won't be returning. The poor customer service and disappointing food made for an overall bad experience. I hope they improve both their hospitality and their food quality because first impressions matter. If you're curious, I'd say try it for yourself--but as of now, I can't personally recommend it.
