First time eating here, Friday afternoon and it it was about half full, it is seat yourself, good atmosphere with a lot of Lansing and East Lansing decorations and history pieces. Our waitress was very nice and quick with our orders and service. I got the Greek fries with gyro meat as an app and it was very good, the meat was pretty tasty with the fries. For the main I got the Steakhouse Philly. The fresh bread paired nicely with the cheesesteak. Will definitely come back here soon! read more

Food did NOT disappoint! $47 for an appetizer, 3 giant sandwiches, plus a potato side for each sandwich and waters. We each tried a different "Philly" sandwich and everyone loved theirs! We ordered the tater tots, and the only weird thing was that an order of tater tots cost $1 less than a traditional cheesesteak with potato side. We loved the skins. Fries were not spectacular or disappointing, just solid. Hash-browns were buttery and crispy and yummy. Service and food coming out was quick. Will return. It's not often that my friends introduce me to a restaurant I haven't been to before in my home town. That is exactly what happened this weekend. Been driving by this place for years. Wish I would have stopped in earlier. Great sandwiches, humongous salads with terrific Greek dressing, and my new favorite wings in town. Service was spot on. The owner even stopped by to say hi. I was looking for some good lake perch to eat & heard they have the best in town. Well, I tried it, and I agree, this place DOES have the best perch in Lansing! I highly recommend this place. I was tempted to stand up and ask everyone who was there if there was ANYONE in the whole place who liked the music choice. Horrible service. Went in, talked to a lady at the register who told me to sit anywhere I like. After 10 minutes, literally, because I was watching a 10 minute long video. No one ever gave me a menu, asked if I wanted something to drink or even acknowledge my existence. 2 guys came in after me and were handed menus with 2 minutes of sitting down. I recently used Steakhouse Philly to cater a business event. The management and workers were very friendly and great to work with. The food was phenomenal and everyone loved it. Stopped by after driving past this location for almost 3 years. Inside is a clean, newly remodeled bar and dining area. You walk in and place your order at the counter. Your food is brought to you at your table. I tried the classic Steakhouse Philly and took a Kronos gyro to go...both were outstanding! The Philly was flavored heavy with onions and plenty of melted cheese. The taste was fantastic, the bun was just right, the fries were a nice compliment. The fountain Coke was a great way to wash it down. The gyro was also fantastic. You can see the gyro spit as you place your order...a good sign that it's fresh! I love Lenny's cheesesteak as well. The difference between the two is that Lenny's is more about the meat, Steakhouse Philly is more about the cheese & onions. Both have unique buns and cheese. Both taste great. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys quality carnivorous fare and beer. I will be back to try more of the Greek fare on the menu. Kudos to the owner for this remodeled gem! read more

First time there at Steakhouse Philly Bar & Grill. Nice place, very clean. Dark wood tables and floor, nice décor. Many TVs, I counted nine but there may be more. Well-stocked bar, six taps. The shelving unit to the left of the bar is ugly. Needs doors on it. The dining area was kind of chilly, I kept my coat on until the food arrived. The food was piping hot and fresh. I ordered a sandwich that was half Philly Cheesesteak meat, half gyro meat with melted cheese, grilled onions, and tzatziki sauce. It was very good! Filling, I could only eat half of it. The fries were also piping hot and well-seasoned. I didn't need to add salt to anything. A friendly young lady who took my order seemed knowledgeable about the food and explained some things to me, because I told her it was my first time there. They have daily specials and serve Coke products. This bar and grill definitely caters to men - I counted only three female customers during my 45 minutes there. However, the men who dined there - some alone, some with friends or coworkers - were sober and fairly quiet professionals. I felt comfortable as a women dining alone there, and was treated well. I had the signature philly and my boyfriend had the Greek philly. We both enjoyed our sandwiches, although I found that the bread was a little flimsy for all of the warm ingredients. We decided to substitute our fries for soups since we ordered fries for an appetizer, and they were both delicious. I had the Greek soup and loved it. My boyfriend had the chili and while the onions were largely sliced/diced, it had great flavor. I thought the price was a little high since adding ingredients such as banana peppers and mushrooms cost extra per ingredient. We'll definitely keep this place in mind for the future! read more

They were perfectly crispy and salted just right. The sandwich could have had a bit more meat but was very tasty. The meat was juicy and the cheese was gooey. The customer service here is amazing! My drink never went dry, my food was served quickly and piping hot. The atmosphere here is very up beat not too loud. The food however was not all that impressive. The meat was dry and half of it was burnt. When this place was a dingy dive with "throwback" carpet from the 50's and a questionable roach atmosphere, the food was better and their service divine - they earned & deserved the name "Best Steakhouse". Since the remodel ummm...I doubt I'll be bringing my family back. Love the decor, though. First time here, it's right next to the baseball park where my adult team plays quite often. We got rained out today so I thought I'd check it out, Tuesday at 6:30. The place is about half full for what that's worth. I say at the bar since I was by myself. As others mentioned, plenty of Tvs around so this looks like it would be decent for catching a game. About 5 beers on tap so not a huge selection but they also have about 5-6 more craft beers by he bottle or can so a decent overall beer selection. Waitress/bartender is reasonably friendly. Food came very quickly and potato skins are very hot. I've never been to Philadelphia so can't compare to it but the Philly cheesesteak sandwich is good and was also very hot and fresh.
