The burger was great, fries were hot and fresh and perfect... I had to try them once! But for almost $20 for a meal, it definitely won't happen again. I can make a few of those with high quality beef and toppings (sautéed onion, mushroom, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and mayo) better bun and handcut fries fried in the same oil. You pay for convenience of not having to make this quality of freshness at home. The staff was amazing as well, very friendly and accommodating with a smile! I really enjoyed this! This review is 5 stars for food, 5 stars for service, and about 3.5 stars for cleanliness. We stopped in after a long day of running errands all around town. By 9PM, my boyfriend and I were starving! We each wanted a burger (which isn't common for us) and lucky for us, we were just driving past this Five Guys location. What we love about Five Guys is their fries. You get so much of them! The employees pour a whole bunch in the bag so splitting a regular size fry is easily enough for a few people. The cajan style fries are seasoned perfectly! Five Guys also has amazing burgers! I am in no way a burger expert, however, Five Guys has a burger that really hits the spot. The topping selection is really impressive. I believe all toppings are free, which is awesome so feel free to pile them up. A "little burger" has one patty, while the regular burger has two patties. I opt for the little hamburger, which is under $5 and is quite filling. Everyone at the counter was so nice and they didn't mind as I browsed the menu before making a decision on my order. I never felt rushed. My only complaint is the soda and condiment area needed to be clean. Again, it was fairly busy when I stopped in and all the employees were helping to make food so it may have just been the time I was in. The employees cared more about socializing than working. The woman who rang us out was nice and a VERY hard worker. But she did everything while a whole crew around her just laughed and watched her work. She made the burgers (not cooked but put them together) and they were great. Apparently one of the workers that appeared to be standing around was working the fryer though. He is the one that completely skimped us out of a regular sized fry (we ordered one little and one regular) and we got two little fries. We waited over 20 minutes for 2 milkshakes & the entire time the manager was yelling at her employees (all while working) that $16 was missing from the register & no one could leave. The manager refused to help me get a refund and replace an order. My meal was never made....The cashier, who I found out is the MANAGER told me "move aside" instead of helping me handle a issue with online ordering. I called corporate to get a refund they were extremely helpful gave me my refund. Then I called this location back to discuss placing a new order and the manager hung up on me. The legend is true, Five Guys is the best burger you're gonna get pretty much anywhere. Don't get me wrong, there are fancier places and more complicated burgers out there for the jet set, but when the jet set don't want to put on a tie to eat, they get a burger HERE. To be honest, for me it's all about the fries. If you haven't been, the place is literally decorated with bags of Idaho Potatos all over the place. My first time in I just didn't make the connection and thought it was an odd choice of a display. Not so anymore. When you get fries (always get fries) they drop a cup into your paper bag with your burger in it, then disregard the cup and shovel fries into the bag until it's full. You are not walking out of here hungry. The burgers are top notch and a plethora of toppings is at the ready and even premium toppings are not an extra charge. And yes, they are huge. When this location of Five Guys first opened I would have given it 7 stars. It was close to home, affordable and the best burgers around. During Covid we avoided eating out but now that we have ventured back out we ordered over the phone and picked up out two burgers 1 fry and two pops coming in at a costly 28 + dollars, what we thought would be worth every red cent from what we remembered. Boy were we mistaken. This was the worst five guys food we have ever had. Nothing tasted good from the burgers which lacked ANY bit of taste we remembered to the weak cold fries...8 plus dollars for french fries and not even the cup was full let alone the bottom of the bag. What a huge disappointment. It takes a lot for me to write a bad review on anyone and I wish I could say it was because they were slammed but there was one two people in the dinning room and no one at the counter. Stopped in on Labor Day and had a fantastic lunch and experience. The kids wanted milkshakes so of course we got those and they also got hot dogs and ate every bite. They really also enjoyed eating peanuts at the table. I got a a burger wrapped in lettuce with grilled onions and cheese. Hubs got a regular burger and Cajun fries. Rating 3.75 stars I really have to preface this review by saying if it were not for all the little extras you get at this place they would only be 3 stars for me. I think a lot of people really love the burger here. Other people. I like the burger don't get me wrong but it doesn't live up to all the hype for me. Here's why: In cookbooks I've read if you want a juicy burger don't put any salt on it. They don't season their burger here, I guess that might be the reason, it would probably shrink in size if they did. I beg to differ. Season that burger up, it's not the same after the fact and I don't want to open a burger with a lot of trimmings to salt and pepper it. It's a big burger I'll give it that, especially if you get the normal size which is 2 patties. It's good meat also but the fat content even with putting no seasoning in it seems low to me. I don't care about cholesterol if I'm going to a burger place. Enough of my prejudices with the burger, here are the pluses: 1. Free peanuts. Peanuts you can eat while waiting for them to cook your burger. They don't advertise it too much at this location (I wouldn't either if I were them) but if your peanut shells end up on the ground it's no problemo, all part of the fun. They had this gimmick at the Tap Room in Grosse Pointe about 30 years ago but I digress. 2. You can see your food being made, you see exactly what you are getting and how they are doing it. There are no burgers falling on the floor being picked up and re-served. 3. Cajun fries. They are pretty good and they are generous. Very generous even with a small size. 4. Malt vinegar for the fries. Cool. 5. You have a good many different options for your burger. Hot sauce, BBQ sauce, jalapeno's, mushrooms, grilled onions,etc. pretty cool. If you are tired of Burger King and feel like getting a decent burger in an interesting place go here. Someone else said this I believe but I thought of saying it 1st but a better burger is in Fraser at Flashback burgers, you just don't get to throw peanut shells on the floor. read more
