I didn't know what to expect as this was my first time trying Taystee's Burgers, and I don't eat burgers very often. The burgers at the St. Claire Shores location exceeded my expectations. The restaurant shares a location with a Mobil Gas Station on 9 Mile and Jefferson. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The store looks clean, and I was greeted by staff when I entered.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I tried the Taystee Special burger, which comes with a large, runny fried egg. The meat patty is large and juicy, and the brioche bun is soft and puffy. The curly fries were fine but could be crispier. There is also the option to build your own burger, which I may try the next time I visit. The prices are a little high but not bad for the quality of the burger served. The only annoying part was that I tried to put in my phone number for rewards points but it didn't work so I didn't get any points for my visit. I signed up for rewards after paying and got a coupon for $5 off that expired the next day so I didn't get a chance to use it. read more

After being recently diagnosed with a gluten intolerance, I've been on the hunt for a good gluten-free burger. I was impressed with Taystee's gluten-free bun, it was delicious! I placed my order over the phone, and since it was my first time, there was a little miscommunication while trying to understand the "build your burger" process. I think there was some confusion between myself and the person who took my order, so my burger ended up being more plain than I would have liked. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The location is inside a gas station, but it has its own area for takeout with a small seating section.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Everything was seasoned well, and the staff was friendly when I picked up my order. First of all, let me tell you I love restaurants located inside gas stations. The main reason why is the fact that if the food wasn't good, there's no way in hell the restaurant would survive. Well, after my trip Taystee's burgers, I can assure you that this place has amazing food. I got the Hawaiian burger. It was absolutely phenomenal. I like the grilled pineapple and the teriyaki sauce was fantastic as well. My Wife loved her burger. I forget exactly what she got. And we both really really liked the chili fries. The fact that it was homemade chili as opposed to Coney style chili made it stand out from other places we've been lately . In addition to the burgers, they have an amazing selection of milkshakes. We didn't have one this visit, but certainly plan to next time. In addition to the great food, the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. You can tell they're genuinely excited about the food that they were preparing. To me that says a lot about the quality of restaurant. read more

A no-frills but good hamburger place. The St. Clair Shores one is attached to a gas station at Jefferson Avenue and 9 Mile Road (they give you a cup for soda which you actually fill in the gas station half). I had the Special Burger that has Coleslaw, Fries, a Fried Egg, Tomato, American Cheese, and Taystee's Spicy Mayo On A Brioche Bun (I had to use a stock photo as to how it looks open, as I forgot to take that picture). The hamburgers are cooked to order, so it's served very fresh and hot. The hamburgers are pretty large, as is the very soft and fluffy bun. It was well-cooked and tasted great. The onion rings were smaller in circumference, which I like, and were well cooked with a crunchy flavorful coating. The Hamburgers are all in the $12 range. Stopped here the other night. Everything was good and the workers were really friendly. I did think my lemon pepper fries could have had more pepper flavor it was mostly just lemon. I liked you could build your own burger, which ensures I have exactly what I want on it. This is in the gas station but they have a nice dining area. You do have to go over to the gas station for drinks. read more

New location in St Clair Shores at Gas station on Jefferson and 9 Mile. Had a few tables for eating there. I ordered via online site which was very user friendly to order. Menu has some interesting burger creations. I ordered the "Hawaiian" - Grilled Pineapple, Grilled Onions, Pepper Jack cheese, Teriyaki Sauce on an onion bun. Was decent but I would probably do a more traditional burger next time. The teriyaki sauce was ok but I feel bbq would have paired better. As a side ordered the "Midwest Style Fries". Fries with nacho cheese, grilled onions and there original sauce. They were good but thought they went too heavy on nacho cheese and little special sauce. read more

While family was visiting from out of state, they had a burger craving. I knew the perfect placement to take them, Taystee's! We each ordered a burger and shared an order of Midwest style fries. My first of two reviews. My order did get a little messed up, but when I reorder, I will update this review. First and foremost, their customer service is impeccable. When I called to let them know I didn't receive what I ordered, Eli told me they would remake my whole order the next time I'm in. Now, on to the review. I ordered chili cheese fries and a Queso wrap. Though I did not receive the correct wrap, the one I did get was just ok. It had chicken, some sauce, lettuce, tomato and pickle. The chicken was cooked to perfection, and it had a good flavor, but definitely not something I would have ordered. The first could have been cooked longer, especially since they had toppings. When I got home, they were not great. While we all have different taste buds, I will say that the chili is NOT for me. It had a sweet, almost ketchup/tomato taste to it. We are in Detroit, chili to us when it comes to dogs or fries is a coney chili. While I give Taystee props on making their own chili, it was just not good. I wouldn't even eat it on its own. Will I be back? Absolutely. I will order a different style of fry and make sure that I receive the correct order before leaving. read more

A couple of weeks ago I stopped in to give Taystee's a try on my way home from work. Went inside let them know I was Taystee's virgin. I asked the girl what I should try for the first time and she was very kind and had a few suggestions, but I decided that I was going to have the #1 burger, I believe it's the original burger and fries. Received my order took it home sat down at the table and I took a large bite of the burger and it was delicious. Then I tried some of the fries and they were great as well, except for the fact that the fries are/were fried in that nasty "pure clear frying oil". I know it's "pure clear frying oil" because I've used it before and it's nothing like using peanut oil. I know it's more expensive, but I'd rather pay a little bit more to get better tasting french fries. All in all I would come back, but I wish y'all would use a better quality oil for frying. read more
