This location looks new because it's so clean. The ordering was easy and all the free toppings were nice. We split an order of fries. The fries come in a paper bag instead of a cup so you don't get as many fries. The burgers were tasty and pricy. The service was friendly and efficient. My third time visiting one of these places, after being disappointed twice on the West Coast. It's time for an in-depth honest review of this place and its quality of food, on THIS side, and, yes, if you are so inclined, go through my profile and read the reviews of the one I left in Carlsbad Commiefornia. Two stars, go exclusively to the employees/staff. These guys were hustlin and bustlin. Two guys behind the counter, and one guy on the floor cleaning his butt off. Needless to say, the place was immaculately clean, but to be fair, with their lack of clientele, I couldn't see how it wouldn't be. The two guys behind the counter, were super professional, and overall great guys. As a matter of fact if I lived here, I would be doing everything in my power to take them from this place and have them work for me!! So I ordered, a hamburger "all the way" which I feel completely silly to not only order something like that, but to have to physically say it, fries, which I was offered a Cajun flavoring, that I was never offered before on the West Coast. So of course I went with it. There was a very nice older lady behind me, so I paid my fountain drink forward and gave it to her. So this combo meal came to around 20 bucks. In my eyes, absolutely ridiculous. Now if you read my reviews, I'm not a Stifler. I have no problem dropping $400 or $500 on dinner, with a $100 bottle of wine. So I'm not some broke a** complaining about prices, but you have to compare prices to quality in the end. The fries were really good. That little Cajun seasoning gave it that extra kick that made them better than ordinary. I'm not too sure how much the fries would be without the seasoning, but I would be willing to bet $2 or $3 less. But I must commend the marketing on the CFOs of this place, to be able to charge $2 for a couple shakes of a spice that would cost literally 1/10 of 1 cent. Again, the burger, lackluster and lacking flavor. The cook was making it exactly how he was trained, just to be clear!! Outside of the mushrooms and onions and bun, there was really nothing that stood out. So in that sense from the other five guys I've been to, pretty similar. But to charge $10 for a hamburger, of that caliber, for lack of a better term it's just ridiculous, but people keep buying them, so five guys CEOs keep selling them. It's one of those "trendy" things, nah mean? So I can say that I've tried this place from coast to coast, and I will most likely never ever set foot in another one. The food quality just isn't there, and I can't justify spending 20 bucks on a burger and fries, when there's an all-you-can-eat buffet right next door for 15 bucks. I hope the manager reads this, because he really needs to take care of his employees. Those cats are top notch, and I even threw them a couple dollar tip!! It was my very first time at a Five Guys and I need to say...it was everything I had hoped it would be. Clean establishment. Quick & friendly service. We got it to go, and the burgers were hot & fresh with everything we had requested done just right. I ordered a Little Cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato and they did not skimp on either. And those french fries...they were nuclear and cooked PERFECTLY. We had driven a few miles while we had our lunch, and the overfilled cup of fries at the bottom of the bag were STILL hot! Honestly the best fries I've ever had- and I'm super picky about my fries...they had the perfect crispiness and were salted with just enough for the best taste. Highly recommend this location! Burger sounded good today and since I was just next door @ pilot getting diesel this worked out perfect. I ordered the small bacon cheese with a small fry and a small coke $17 wow it's pricey. To my surprise there was a freaking ton of fries for it being a small. I love the idea of getting your order in a brown paper sack. That just reminds me of growing up for some reason. But anyway the fries are awesome if u eat them while there still hot but once they cool down I didn't like them as much for some reason. The small burger was way more than enough to fill me up. I'm only here for the fries!!! Five Guys is a road trip staple for me because you can always find one no matter where you are. As the fam and I were headed south for our summer vacay we found ourselves here after stopping for gas. The line was short which was always a plus and the fact that the fries are always piping hot since they are made to order, cold fries are never an issue. Fresh cut fries are always a win win in my book. Because everyone does Cajun differently, I usually ask for it on the side so I can sprinkle as much it as little at any given time. Don't forget the douse of vinegar for good measure. The location was clean and the staff was super nice. It was a pleasure for sure. Grab some peanuts too while you wait! Pretty reliable as it gets! You know the fries are going to be fresh cut thanks to the oversized sacks of potatoes laying on the crates. Juicy burgers, soft squishy seeded roll. But what I appreciate about Five Guys unlike other higher quality burger chains is all the toppings are free (well, except bacon, but you know...). These guys were awesome. We showed up at lunch time with a couple other families we were traveling with. They didn't even flinch. They were so efficient and friendly. I was blown away! This was the second time I was there. The first time I got the same amount of friendly and efficiency when they weren't busy. Kudos. These guys know how to treat customers. Stopped before getting back on the interstate. It it located in the Sadler's truck stop property, and a little difficult to maneuver the traffic pattern/ parking lot. I advised my Mom to order the little cheeseburger vs the regular burger. I went with the bacon cheese hot dog. The hot dog was cut lengthwise. I ordered it with A-1 sauce. That sauce combined with the bacon made for an great taste. We ordered one portion of small fries, which everyone that's ever been to a Five Guys knows is enough for several people. Worst five guys experience ever. Burger was not up to there standards. Fries had way too much Cajun seasoning. Fry guy was to busy talking to friend to make fries and give out food. In the ten minutes I was there the orders piled up, online customers had to constantly ask if that was their order and he gave bags to the wrong customer twice when he was filling orders. This Five Guys Rocks! Been here twice, driving from NYC to Raleigh for New Years! We made it a point to eat here again after stumbling on it while driving down. Yes the Burgers were that good! I believe that this is how a burger stand should be run. It's clean, the peeps doing the grilling and prepping were singing and having a great time. They were very helpful explaining the menu to new customers and were making burgers and fries quickly. The burgers taste much better in Emporia than the Five Guys in NYC. I now understand the acclaim, that Five Guys has received. Before my experiences with Five Guys were good but never great. These burgers were great for a fast food burger. They were also much cheaper here than they are in NYC. If all of the Five Guys were run like this one, I might consider them the Kings of the Fast Food Burger over my beloved In & Out Burger. read more

I've got to agree that the prices are considerably more than their competition. For cryin' out loud, I can get a comparably tasty, juicy burger fixed the way I want, plus fries and a drink, on a real plate with a real napkin for less. That said, the burgers are mighty tasty. To the fries fanatics, I just don't get what you're getting. It's a heap of thick cut potatoes fried in peanut oil. They get soggy within seconds and need a Hella lot of seasoning. It's Five Guys - nothing more, nothing less. Burgers and fries are good. Staff is friendly and service is fast unless you go during busy hours. The only issue I have is that it is incredibly expensive - almost $40 for 2 shakes, 2 small burgers, and a large fry. If you're traveling in 95, you can go another 20-30 minutes south to Roanoke Rapids where there are full service restaurants with healthier options and cheaper.
