To start off, the bathrooms are completely dirty. They smell and the floors are all sticky. It looks like they haven't been cleaned in days. The lobby was also sticky and disgusting. They were completely out of condiments as well and the lady at the register did not know how to work the Wendy's app when I was trying to get a coupon to scan. I just placed an order at this establishment between 10-1015am. The woman who took our order and who was at the window was kind. We had to pull up and she told us someone would bring our order out. I decided to go inside to use the restroom during the wait. On my way out, the girl at the front register said behind my back, "What the ****?! I just went out there." I'm sorry, I didn't realize I should've stopped at the counter on my way to the bathroom to let you know I'll be back out for my bags. I'm extremely disappointed with my recent experience at the Wendy's in Emporia. I arrived at the drive-thru at 10:20 a.m., fully expecting to grab breakfast--especially since the restaurant clearly advertises that breakfast is served until 10:30 a.m. To my surprise, I was told they were no longer serving breakfast. If breakfast ends at 10:30, customers should be able to order until that time--not be turned away ten minutes early. It's frustrating and misleading, especially when you're on the road and planning your morning around getting a quick bite. This kind of inconsistency is unacceptable. I don't understand the bad attitudes in fast food now days. We never got greeted before ordering nor after paying. We both got biggie bags, neither came with nuggets. Busy location so transient grime and moderate disarray is tolerable. Large parking lot. Entrance is a tad inconvenient and drive-thru traffic wrapped around the building and protruded into main lot. Restrooms were a bit untidy but acceptable as they had had soap and paper towels. Wait to order was short (3 minutes); 4 for $4 (x2) and $1 Large fries totaled ~$10, very reasonable. Elsie was neither personable or rude but got our order keyed correctly, so self pay by cc was easy. Our food was accurately prepared in ~5 minutes. Despite the unkept appearance, they cranked out our food waaaay faster than the Wendy's back in Norfolk. It also coincided with the end of the in store rush; that's also when an employee offered to disinfect our table before we sat down. Way to steal back a star! read more

Clearly this place needs to be blue to train their people to be able to complete more than one task at a time. We did not read the reviews prior to going in but clearly should have. Just wanted a quick meal on our drive home. Wasn't particularly quick, even though there were little to no customers at the time. Floor was slick, like greasy slick. They were out of almost every drink in the Coke Freestyle machine. Bathrooms were nasty and 2 of 3 stalls had no tp. Best part was ordering 2 chicken sandwiches and being given 2 burgers. Had to go back in to fix that issue, further delaying our trip home. Worst Wendy's experience ever. It wasn't that bad. From the drive thru cashier we heard-"What's your order?" No greeting at all, just "What's your order." I asked about chicken nuggets because I didn't see it listed on the outside menu. She then told me about a 10 count nugget meal for $5.99. All three of us got it, but the bill came out to over $24.00. Either we we're overcharged or the Emporia is making a killing off some food taxes. Whatever, we were hungry. The nuggetts had absolutely no taste. No salt or anything. The fries were even worse. Didn't Wendy's change to sea salt some years ago? I couldn't even finish them they were so dry. Just awful. Oh and my wife was driving behind me and had almost the exact same experience. Drive 20 more miles down the road to Roanoke Rapids everyone. But as you look around there were spills on the tables, spills on the floors, disarray at the drink station, and filthy trash cans.. I'm sad to note that I didn't notice any of this until after I had eaten most of my meal or I likely wouldn't have eaten there. Yikes! I can see why this place has such bad reviews. Stopped in on the way to Myrtle Beach for a soda and a bathroom break. Upon walking into the bathroom, I saw an elderly lady and her granddaughter trying to catch themselves from falling. Apparently leaving water all over the floor is not an issue to management, neither are liability issues. The poor woman was so distraught, thankfully I was there to help them up from the fall. Then I noticed a beautiful large cockroach dead on the bathroom floor. This made my skin crawl, because I can't even begin to imagine what they have running around behind the food and/or soda fountain behind the counter.
