Five Guys is the best place to get a burger and a shake. People I know complain about their high prices but honestly I feel like you're paying for what you get. I have yet to find a fast food restaurant in town that puts out a quality burger. You definitely won't find it at McDonald's or DQ. I used to work at a burger place, so I have a guess why I found my recent visit so shitty. It was slow when I came in. They have an open kitchen, so I could see my order did not stir a great deal of activity. Most of the movement seemed to be centered on the fry station. When I got them home, my fries were okay (5 Guys is not notably regarded for their fries), but the burger was just meh. Less than meh, even. Might as well have gone to McDonald's, at least the Big Mac sauce adds something to their shitty beef. I'm pretty sure they gave me some old burger patty they had sitting around. I remember doing the same thing when I flipped burgers. You cook an extra sometimes when it's busy, then later unload it on some sucker with some fresh cheese trying to cover up the fossilized beef. I usually get a little burger because I can only eat one patty not two. I prefer balanced portions of meat and veggies. Eating a burger feels light and soft because of the bread, but it's always filling. This is the only fast food place that I would eat the burger over the fries first, even though the fries are just as tasty. The inside is always clean and bright. Five Guys is the best burger I've ever had, and I love the variety of fresh toppings you can add for free. (The meat is NEVER frozen, and you can really taste the difference.) I've never heard someone criticize the taste of a burger here. The only criticism I hear, and it is one that I hear often, is that it is overpriced. People say, "Man, a meal here is ten bucks!" This is not the case. There are two different burger sizes at FG. There is a single and a double. The double is called the hamburger, and the single is called a little hamburger. The single is enough for anyone! It is larger than an Angus burger at McDonald's, and it is cheaper. Sure, you can order the double, and I have before, but it is just too much food. Fries feed at least two. And I don't order a drink, as water is free and I prefer that. So when I go with a friend, we both get single burgers (less than $4 each), and a regular fries (between $2-3). So both of us eat fresh, delicious hamburgers and a ton of fries for $10-$11 TOTAL. It's totally reasonable. read more

This has been our go to burger place for several months. Yes, they are a little pricey, but it's worth it in our eyes. Friendly staff, and they usually bring our food to our table. They have a large number of toppings to choose for your burger. Depending on what kind of toppings you get it can be a little messy, but a little messy isn't necessarily a bad thing. Our burgers have always been done perfectly. Their fries are great, and they give you a LOT of them too. I tried a hotdog once, while it was good I will likely stick with the burgers. The only complaint I've had is it seems like when we go in and eat at least half the tables need cleaned off. I don't know if they have a set person to check the dining area or not, but that's not enough to keep us from going.
