So I've never been to Five Guys until today!! I was shocked by the free peanuts, and the insane amount of fries! (So much so that I took many pictures for you to see!!) The Cajun fries were good, I wish it had more Cajun seasoning though! I got the cheeseburger all the way, I like that option, with all the toppings! We also ordered one but with lettuce wrap. No one even batted an eye which was nice. The restaurant was clean, and burgers were made to order. I was surprised by the price, $11 per burger is pretty hefty but it was a decent sized burger! Doesn't matter if you order on the app; doesn't matter if it tracks your GPS; doesn't matter if you hit the "I'm Here" button when you arrive. You WILL be waiting 7-8 minutes for French fries, regardless. I know, some people will appreciate fresh hot fries vs soggy ones, and I certainly do. But what's the point of the GPS tracking and the I'm Here button if you're not starting the deep fryer until I physically walk up to the counter? Today I saw my burger sitting there waiting for me. Another woman behind me had her two burgers on the grill when I walked in. Fries finally were up, and she was given fries before me. Why? "She was here before you." No, actually my order was before hers (thus, why it was sitting in a bag when I walked in), and I checked in as "Here" as she walked in the door before she even placed her order. And so I waited 5 more minutes for another batch to be made. Seriously, what's the point of the app? There are no rewards program, and clearly there's no priority to the people who walk up to the counter. Five Guys used to be one of my favorite places. Yet as they've franchised quite fast, some things have dropped a bit. It's gone from a love to a like. Sure the peanuts are good, but I'd like to see more burger options at this price point. Inflation is part of this, but they used to be quite affordable. That no longer is the case. Fuddruckers has its own bakery for delicious rolls, these are like the ones you get cheap at the grocery store. Nice location with good and efficient employees. It's quick and that does count for something. Their fries are still tasty, but I find their burgers to be "pedestrian." Basically what anyone can cook. Nothing wows you and it's just another one of many burger places. It's a clean and friendly spot, but I'm tired of the plethora of these and other regular burger spots. read more

Rating: 0/5 Lady who claimed to be management who was working on 8/16 was super rude. Would not provide the name of the assistant manager. Claimed there was no need for her to provide that information. I asked for the name of someone else because she was being rude and kept cutting me off and telling me if wasn't her problem. When I addressed my concern and complaint with an online order I had placed she told me that wasn't her fault and that she's busy. I understand being busy but that doesn't validate messing up orders that were made. No apology was given, only back talk in Spanish with her coworkers which luckily I speak Spanish and could defend myself. Then it just turned into back and forth with me in Spanish. Located across from Regal movie theatre in Fairfax Town Center along with many other restaurants. Like any other Five Guys, free peanuts before you get your order! I like their fries compare to other burger places. Pretty generous with fries so I like that too. Usually, I get the little burger but this time I had to try the little bacon burger which was great as it can be. C'mon... you can't say a burger with bacon was not good xD Real talk though. Here's what nobody else will tell you: if you order for curbside pick up, when you arrive and hit the "I'M HERE" button that's when they start pealing the potatoes for your fries to make sure your fries are super fresh. They use a traditional method of potato pealing passed down through generations all the way back from the old country. Then, after the potato is pealed, they begin a special voodoo ritual which gives your fries that authentic Cajun flavor. You thought it was just some seasoning? Fool. The ritual can never be seen by outsiders, which is why I'm sitting in my car writing this review, while my fries are no doubt being put through a thorough examination by highly trained and experienced practitioners. I waltzed on here this Sunday evening because I felt like consuming nearly 2000 calories in one sitting. I ordered what I usually get, the regular hamburger with 840 calories, and regular fries with even more 950 calories. The hamburger cost nearly $9 and the medium sized regular fries almost $6. Admittedly tonight was my first visit at this restaurant chain in 2022, and it seems like the prices have definitely risen like everything else in the world. At around 8:30pm there were about four groups if people who had already ordered and were seated and enjoying their calories. There was no shortage of employees this evening, and I was able to place my order quickly. I really do miss the free peanuts and I guess that they got rid of this benefit during vivid. The peanuts really were one of the main attractions. The burger was awesome , abd the fries even more delicious. Not all Five Guys are created equal. This one is my favorite for various reasons. Let's start with the staff: they are professional, kind, and always make the order exactly how you asked for it. Extra jalapeños, hot sauce, with A1 sauce? No problem, done. On top of service, their fries here are reallyyyy good in comparison to all the fries I've had from Five Guys which usually are pretty good. Cajun fries as we all know are bomb. They bomb here. No doubt Lastly, what I really like about this spot is it's convenient location. There's a massive parking lot since it's right by Safeway. This is really nice because you can usually find a parking spot right by the burger spot. It's also located by a smoothie joint which is pretty good too! 20 minutes wait for curbside pick up. Arrived, and selected I am here. Waited. Saw about 5 people walk in and come out with food. Would guess they did not order ahead since they were in the restaurant 7-10 minutes. 10 minutes outside with my car running--still no food. Called them and 10 minutes later they bring my order which makes me think they started prepping my order when I called.. My favorite place to get a burger! Burgers are nice and juicy, and they give you a bunch of topping choices. The bin of peanuts that you can munch on while you wait is a nice touch, and I also love that they have Birch Beer at their fountain machine! The only other place I know of in this area that offers it is the Vienna Inn. I'm a big fan of putting malt vinegar on my fries, so it's a huge plus that they have several bottles out on the counter for people to grab. The restaurant is pretty clean overall, and the staff is friendly. My only complaint- when did they get so expensive?! I have been to this location several times and feel like it is one of the better locations. They are usually very busy and still are able to get your food to you in a few minutes. Nice clean seating area, friendly service and consistent quality for the food. Compared to other fast food burger joints, I always prefer five guys. You can customize your burger, they use peanut oil and you get free peanuts! I plan on coming back to this location again. read more

We've been to many Five Guys over the years. Fabulous burgers and delicious, crispy, perfectly cooked and seasoned fries. Until now. This store has great burgers, but the fries are awful--soggy and bland--and even if they were good, the servings are pitiful compared to what you get at other FGs. I've been to some where a Little Fries serving fills the bottom of the bag. Here, you get just what fits in the tiny cup. Not worth the price. Never been a fan of the Five Guys chain of Over-priced Burgers... but decided to give them one last shot. The last two times, once in Texas, and again in North Carolina, were borderline experiences. Here's why and it makes NO sense to me... The meat itself is pretty good but WHY must they smash down that bun and THEN seal the burger in aluminum foil? Was eating in on both occasions! So back to Virginia. Walked in and I noticed that the regular burger price was $5.15 or so. The manager was working the register and I asked him about it and his response was... There only used to be a few Five Guys -- and now it seems like they are appearing all over the place.....the burgers are really quite good -- the fries are usually great as well, though at times they are limp and lifeless -- and they always are really greasy (good and bad thing)...... I think I prefer In and Out to 5 Guys -- but at Five Guys they don't bleach their employees and have Biblical stuff on their packaging.... What should we have for din-din? I was pacing back and forth in my living room. Suddenly my cell rings and it's hubs. Five Guys? Never had their eats so why not. He was passing this particular location after a meeting so he thought of burgers for dinner. Mmmmm burgers. I first read about FG in Alicia C.'s profile. And Steve G.'s review brings out the mad giggles.... Five THIGHS instead of Five Guys LMAO. Always curious but the name didn't register when I was hungry. Glad the good hubs mentioned FG. I'm a fan now. These burgers are huge! I guess it would be when requesting 'everything on it except the cheese'. Holding these burgers are not pretty - it's pretty messy but oh so yummy delicious. The bread did not fall apart..... *Homer drool* the bread was tasty too. FG serves their burgers well done but it's still juicy. In the future, though, I will have to order the 'little' burger versions because I heart starchy fries. Whether you pick their regular or large size order of fries, both options will feed many. Share these or have a starch attack for a party of one. Since we were newbies, I suggested to my better half to order the large size. They should've bagged that separately because OMG. How many potatoes were in that cup of fries???? Why did they even use a cup? Hilarious. I liked the taste of the fries. Was it the peanut oil or the actual taste of the potatoes? I have to keep reminding myself that i teach high school and so if i go out on a Friday night to grab dinner, Fairfax town center should not be a place i go! if i do then come Monday morning comes around the whole freshman class will be buzzing about how they saw Ms Proulx on a date at five guys and how her boyfriend is cheap for not taking her somewhere nice! As we approached i saw multiple people carrying those brown paper bags, dripping with grease, and i couldn't help thinking about my poor arteries and the fat i was about to deposit in them. I do like the made to order factor and the burgers themselves aren't that bad. i just hate how greasy they feel. I know they could eliminate the grease and make it a much better burger, rather than feeling like a higher quality whopper. I'm not a big fan of the fries but i think its mostly because of the grease factor. I was excited to see the birch beer on tap at the soda fountain. That is definitely worth extra points as you don't find that every day! Dear Five Guys, HOLY CRAP!!! what has happened to you guys? When I went in, there were FLIES...EVERYWHERE. just EVERYWHERE. On top of that, it was a 95 degree weather day outside..and yet somehow when I walked in to the building, it was HOTTER inside than OUT. Your ac was broken?? The burger was still tasty mind you...but the sanitation has gone downhill to the point of sickness. Five guys is the In n Out of the East Coast. I like it because you get lots of fries and free peanuts while you wait. You also get to choose whatever toppings you want on your burger. When I was eating meat I love love loved this place. Their burgers are pretty darn tasty. However now, I've lost my taste for meat and have now switched to eating grilled cheeses - not bad, but super greasy, but what would you expect of a hamburger joint? The fries are still one of the best I've ever had and even better shared with friends. Sometimes I think of going just to order fries but would wonder if anyone would think I'm weird for that. But be warned about the "veggie sandwich" listed on their menu. Apparently it's just whatever "toppings" you want on a bun.
