LA Street Dog + Truffle Fries
    Virginia H.

It's located inside Mustang Sally Brewing Company that is a spacious spot to not only enjoy snacks, try beers, play arcade games and attend weekly events. We got our usual LA Street Dog and Truffle Fries. Both were delicious as the first time we tried it at a different brewery. Service was quick and staff were helpful and friendly. It does seem a bit on the pricey side, but once you try it you will know it's worth it!

This is a review for just the hotdog place I guess but if I had to include the brewery, I'd probably adjust the rating a bit. So hotdog wise, only really had the one but from what I saw at my table is that they really do come out looking like the pictures. Presentation is awesome and the Diablo hotdog I got was pretty good, reasonably spicy and good amount of condiments. My only problem really is the price point, because you're not really getting full of one $12 hotdog and if you get two then the value proposition is not great. I understand every restaurant has had to raise prices or whatever but it's just a bit much for (craft) hotdogs and local brews. Also sitting outside can be fun if you love airplanes or annoying if you want to have a conversation with planes flying overhead every 2-3 minutes. Still would highly recommend this place to have a bite and brew.

Tried out this place while at Mustang Sally's for Trivia night on a Thursday. Had already eaten dinner so just grabbed some sweet treats! Very yummy Strawberry shake! Also got amazing caramel churros and they were delicious. Vanilla ice cream came in the bottom of the churro cup. Really nice service and the staff behind the counter was friendly and even gave me two cups of ice for my water: Would love to go back and try their fries and sausages. They looked delicious!

We grabbed food from here while we were inside Mustang Sally's. We were drinking obviously and we needed some food. We've had Eugene's at a different brewery and it was so good, this place is no different. We got the Hogwurst (a Harry Potter themed, one day only dog), the Banh Mi, and Elote chips. Both sausages were solid, nice toasted pretzel bun, and they did not skimp on toppings. Banh Mi had lots of pickled daikon, carrots, and jalapeños and the Hogwurst had a big dollop of guacamole. The elote chips, just like how the other Eugene's had elote fries, were the best part. Topped very well, super cheesy, and there were lots of chips. We also got a sweet pretzel later on that was so huge and fresh. The dipping sauce options were so on point, it was one of the best pretzels I've ever had. You can't avoid this place if you're drinking inside Mustang Sally's, you'd be crazy not to.

Danger Dog.. No spicy relish available today.

Best hotdog I have ever had. (Danger Dog ..hotdog was flavorful and tender, bacon relish was perfect and the soft pretzel roll made it all go together. Kids liked the hotdogs on pretzel roll. Husband loved the Half smoked southerner. Very tasty with a good level of spice. Sarah was welcoming and made great accommodations. Keto dieters can put dog on saurkraut or maybe Chili (has beans, though)... Will definitely be back.

I was there over the weekend and all I can think about is how good the Elote fries are ! I will be taking that hour drive back just for them! Grab a beer from the brewery and catch a game on one of the many screens....so worth it!

BLUF: $20 not well spent, but good to support small biz. So great to have food options while at a brewery! Alone, the fries were awesome but the sausage was disappointing. I've been to their location in Haymarket and enjoyed the food there, so I was excited to find out there was a Eugene's closer to home, and at a brewery no less! I wanted the tots but forgot to say I wanted tots instead of the fries and wound up with the fries. Loved the fries all by themselves, though they were a little too salty. They were so hot crispy, and yummy. The seasoned ketchup & cheese were ok, too, but nothing to write home about. Got these topped with bratwurst which was horrible. The sausage was TOTALLY cold & dry. Dry like sausage jerky. Now, if you're known for sausage, you'd think the sausage would be done right every time. The highlight of your dish, right? But $12 for fries topped with a few drizzles of seasoned ketchup & cheese, and a few slices of sausage is waaaaaay not worth it. The $6 shake wasn't too tasty either. Perhaps better quality ice cream & house-made whipped cream would have made a better shake. I might give this location another chance because I know what they can do, but $20 for fries & a shake is rather extravagant for mediocre pub grub & I left still hungry & super thirsty.

This employee-owned business has perfected the art of all things baking and has made it accessible for the masses. You can purchase their items at Whole Foods and even BJ's ... but this store is truly a showcase of their greatest hits. I nearly blacked out as I placed box after box of baking mix into my cart. Their mixes run the gamut from scones, pancakes, popovers, babka, muffins, pretzels, pizza dough, and more. I got 20% off since it was Black Friday and they even gave me a little bundt cake ornament as a special gift. They had their gingerbread cake out to sample, and it was surprisingly delicious (as someone who does not traditionally like gingerbread). This is a pop-up that is scheduled to close soon but I hope that they find another home in the area soon. Everyone I interacted with was super nice and friendly too!

Every culture has their own interpretation of taking the basic ingredients of flour, yeast, salt and water and transforming it via various baking methods into their version of "bread." There is a long history of using circular oval shaped ovens in Asia and the Middle East as a way of both conserving space and to efficiently cook foods with even heat distribution and small footprints in otherwise cramped kitchens. In India these ovens are called tandoors while in Japan they are referenced as kamados. Sauson International Grocery has been in operation since 2011, and the owner, who everyone knows as "Mr. Rashid," is of Persian descent having emigrated from Iran. He is always super friendly and willing to answer questions I may have about the wide variety of Middle Eastern spices and foods this place stocks. Don't be surprised if you strike up a conversation with him, and he offers you a cup of wonderfully spiced tea and a cookie or pastry from the delectable dessert case. As some of the reviews have noted, parking is tricky. There is a small covered garage under the building. But you may have to park at the nearby church or on the street and then walk over to the store. This place is well known for their bread, which is being made throughout the day. I came a bit later today, so they had just finished making a few batches. But it's not uncommon to witness skilled bakers kneading and rolling, and then slapping the dough onto the circular metallic oven for a few minutes, before piping hot fresh bread emerges. The bread is amazing. It is pliable, without being overly chewy. It is slightly salty, with a great smoky almost charred flavor. I've had it cut into pieces and then dipped with hummus or rolled into gyros or used to sandwich kabob meat. And believe it or not, it's even pretty good as a PB&J. Everyone, and I mean everyone, I've introduced this product to usually asks: (1). What type of bread is this? and (2). Where can I buy it? Note: As of this review, the current price is $8.05 for FOUR large round pieces of bread. Apart from the bread, there is also a small butcher shop in the back, and a kitchen where hot foods like kabob platters are made. There is also a small seating area in front of the store, where folks can sip tea and relax while enjoying sweets from the display case. Sauson is a really cool place and while I usually go with the intention of only buying bread, it's not uncommon for me to walk out with a few bags of unique Middle Eastern groceries.

Impressive variety of selection and wonderful hospitality. Can't wait to go back soon.read more
