I've been having a love/hate relationship with this Five Guys since the little shopping center they're in opened up. The first few months it was perfectly fine, no problems, food was good, etc. I would normally either call ahead or order online before I got in my car and the food was ready a minute or two after I'd walked in and paid. Wonderful. After a few months the phone orders were harder and harder to get across, which resulted in a handful of mistakes. No mustard on one burger, no fries once or twice, no mayo on a different burger... If it was once or twice this wouldn't have been an issue, but it was getting to be that every time I called ahead my order would be wrong. Easy problem to solve though, just switch to their online ordering. Bad idea. Every time I've used their online ordering system I've had to wait in the restaurant longer than if I'd just walked in off the street. When it says that your order will be ready in fifteen minutes, then you drive over there, and then you wait for fifteen while people who came in, ordered, and paid after you did have already left with their food it just doesn't make sense. The food here is just as decent as most other Five Guys in the area, but their service is the absolute pits. read more

Five Guys has great burgers, and a vast amount of toppings available for no charge (grilled onions, mushrooms, bbq sauce, A1, Ketchup/Mustard, among others). I'm an even bigger fan of the fries. They're just like boardwalk fries - tasty, and amazing when dipped in ketchup, or the ample malt vinegar available. Word of advice: don't get the large - they just give you a massive scoop of fries whether your order the small or the large, so why pay the extra when it's just about the same amount of goodness ? My only complaint is - if you're really hungry (and have a good-sized appetite), sometimes one hamburger leaves you a little hungry, yet ordering a 2nd one would be too much food. It's kind of one of those things where you're satisfied but not full. read more

They are very generous with the amount of delicious fries they give you. We always order two of the small ones and have enough left over for lunch they next day. We are vegan, so we appreciate the fact their veggie sandwiches are prepared away from where they cook the meats. It is also cool that they offer free peanuts to snack on. The service here has always been friendly and fast. We eat here almost weekly and always leave satisfied. read more

The only reason I'm even giving it a 1 star is because you can't give it a 0. Worst customer service ever!!! Charged me 3 times and my bank immediately informed me. I showed them this was happening and they refused to give me my money back. Never come here. read more

I was completely disappointed with Five Guys. I ordered my burger with "everything, the works, and also jalapenos" and got... jalapenos and NOTHING ELSE on a a bland, under-seasoned burger. The fries were soggy and unappetizing. It was overall just bad and overpriced - I've gotten better burgers for a dollar. When paying ~$6 for a cheeseburger and another ~$3 for fries, my expectations are raised. This would have been bad food even by cheap national chain standards. My first experience with 5 Guys. It came off a "rave review" from a friend, who's judgment I've respected. I got what I consider a standard burger-joint order: Cheeseburger, fries, and shake. First, $17 is expensive, unless it truly is a gourmet meal. It wasn't. I had to wait for 20 minutes. The burger was "meh". The fries were soggy and greasy. The shake was average. I put the burger par with Wendy's on flavor. Other than giving a large portion, the fries were not edible. The shake was nothing special, maybe similar to a McD's shake. I'm not sure if this is a company owned or a franchise joint. If the latter, then I hope the franchisee reads this and steps up his/her game! There is a Wendy's across the street and a McD's down the street, and I'll spend (much less) money there in the future. read more

What can go wrong with burgers or fries at any Five Guys location. I only came to this location when they were first opened and never came back again. They needed to add a little more "human" touch to their staff training. They were more like robots. read more

I'm not such a fan of the burgers (though everyone else I know is) but the fries are amazing. Not only that, for just a small fry they give you a ton in the bag. Definitely good value for money. Fast service too, which is helpful. read more

At one time, when one thought of Five Guys, it was probably about the peanuts. Or maybe the overflowing cup of fries. Or even the never-frozen hamburgers. Now it is more likely one thinks of the ever-escalating prices. Today I paid $7.88 for the hamburger; $3.59 for the "Little" fries; and, $2.49 for the regular soda (free refills). $13.90 before taxes. It seems every time I go in, higher prices are posted. Isn't there the possibility of some cost containment here? Having kvetched, I will readily acknowledge that the hamburger was excellent, the fries tasty (best in fast food land), and the free refills from a state of the art dispenser. I like this particular location; it is bright and clean. The seating has been adjusted and works much better now. The staff is not effusive but they are courteous and efficient. I suspect the prices will continue to rise, and I will continue to eat at Five Guys. read more

NEEEEVER had a problem with this place, they have good food, work quickly, and are nice! I've had the burgers which are delicious and filling, but my personal favorite is the hot dogs and fries on a nice day with friends. Keep up the good work guys! read more

Five guys may be starting the inevitable decline towards just being a good hamburger place. I went last night after being away for a little more than a year and don't remember the prices being that high. I paid around 13 for burger fries and a drink. I always thought it was on par with In and Out for the best hamburger place, but in and out seems to maintain low prices while 5 guys seem to be creeping up. Thus will make that 20 min drive a lot less appealing, and maybe I will try one of the 10 gourmet burger places that are closer to me next week for the first time. read more

stop cleaning up the floors, its not consistent with the good memories I have of the old Alexandria store ... the scattered peanut shells were part of the ambiance ! 5 Guys is one of the original "This is a good burger" joints in VA and it used to run against all the fancy snobby restaurants that used to claim to have an uber-burger, all while being nearly free - prices being relative. The times (and their rapid expansion) has forced the price of the burger to climb but it's not stratospheric by a long shot. Also, get yourself a regular order of Cajun Fries and ask for it to be "extra-Cajun" - it's just plain incredible ! Dont order a large, just the regular - they nearly fill the brown bag it's in - regardless of the size you order - the regular size is usually good enough as a side for a couple 5 Guys is no longer the only game in town - Freddy's and SMASH are also very very good but 5 Guys is one of the first truly solid burger joints that won me over. read more

Get here early to get fresh fries, great place to seat, and sensual music during your lunch break. The fries are below average for me. Love Five Guys. This location is on point, though. Years ago, when I was still in college, I used to work at the Starbucks in that shopping center and regularly frequented this franchise.
