Stopped by this particular Potbelly for lunch one day. I always get the Wreck sandwich. When I went to order the lady said "What do you want" I was sort of shocked with the lack of welcoming customer service, so I said hi, good afternoon, how are you doing? She was short. Fine, what do you want? As I ordered, she never made eye contact with me. She was looking at a monitor, I guess the ordering computer system. Nevertheless, she was unpleasant. For all the time I've gone to Fairfax corner, I've never stepped into potbelly's (located across from the movies, next to Ben and Jerry's) It was like stepping into the Waverly Place substation, I felt transported in time. :) I came for their BOGO sandwich which I redeemed twice in stores haha. Their steak and cheese was amazing, and seasoned well. The turkey was bland. There was a pulled pork one with Mac & Cheese inside?! I love potbelly and this is one of my favorite locations. It's fast, accurate, and service is friendly. I've enjoyed both dine in and pick up orders. Lunch/ meal times especially on weekends gets pretty busy. There are a handful of parallel parking spots for pick up orders and a few parking spots around the corner, but parking fills up quickly especially on weekends. There's indoor and outdoor seating and you can take your sandwich to the lawn area by the clock tower. I went to Potbelly Fairfax corners tonight, and the two girls who were at the cash register seriously lack customer service skills. Aside from the fact that my order was significantly delayed, they didn't know how to assist me properly. They were more interested in chatting with each other and having soup than in letting me know that there would be a delay with my order. Super frustrated with my experience today. Customer service is really not great. The girl taking the sandwich orders doesn't smile and seems like she hates her job so it just set the tone for my experience. They put the wrong cheese and then proceeded to just take it off with their gloved hands ( maybe just make a new sandwich if you messed up? ) and put the correct cheese on it and the lady that touched it used the same gloves that she touched her personal water cup that she was casually drinking out of midway while making my sandwich. We ordered take out ahead of time and wasn't disappointed at all. We had a chicken a bacon sandwich as recommended by a previous Yelp review. It would have been a great place to unwind and allow a server to help us relax yet we were traveling from Florida and didn't really have a chance with time and our pet in the car. I think the "Works" sandwich is amusing. Creativity is one of my favorite things. Potbelly isn't as exciting as it used to be. They still have decent sandwiches. Also only place I know of that sells Orange Crush in glass bottles. These are tasty, and also work with the turkey sandwiches. I like them, but there's nothing mind blowing. To the credit of the employees, thank you for your great service. They definitely hire nice and funny folks. As for the dining area it's quite clean. Ugh. I wish this place could get it together because I would be a regular. The staff cannot listen. Nearly every time the younger people are "baked" and have an AirPod in and cannot follow simple sandwich making instructions. I would say my sandwich is incorrect 7/10 times. Great sandwich shop with tons of seating both inside and out. The area is great for shopping or grabbing a quick bite before/after a movie. The staff were kind and service was quick! My food was so good I forgot to snap a pic until after I ate the entire thing (oops). I ordered the chicken club with lettuce, tomato, Mayo, and pickles and it was so filling and fresh. I have to give this four stars. I've been going to potbelly when it first open 20 years ago. The chocolate shake was just average which is why I'm given only four stars. The sandwiches are still the same very good get the wreck. One of the main reasons why I'm giving four stars, I used to get a cookie when I got the shake the cookie would be on a straw. I have not been to potbelly in the last 10 years so maybe it's a new policy where they don't put the cookie on the shake. I've been here countless times and unless you explicitly state what you want in the sandwich or salad (which is reading ingredients directly off the menu that they should know already), they will give you something different. I've always loved potbelly, unfortunately today I had a bad experience at this location which never happened before and concerns me a lot. I arrived around 8:30 just to be ignored by one of the employees for longer than 5 minutes. Not only she ignored me but she also didn't greet me and served with a really bad attitude. Once everything was done she throw the food at the counter and still with the attitude said "there you go" Too bad having this employee who obviously don't care about customer service. I love Potbelly Deli! Oh, excuse me, their formal name is Potbelly Sandwich Works, but I like to call them Potbelly Deli. Because they are a wonderful example of how deli sandwiches should taste. They are creative, they are filling, they are excellent, they are nicely priced. My favorite is "A Wreck," which consists of salami, roast beef, turkey, ham & swiss. Strange name, terrific sandwich. You can also have this made into a salad, which is great when you aren't in the mood for the extra carbs. It goes like this: wait in line with the rest of the good folks of Fairfax; order your fav from the nice gentleman behind the big wooden counter; move on down the line until you get to the condiments area; tell the nice person behind the counter what you want or don't want on your sandwich; keep sliding down to the cash register and pay the lovely employee who is there to take your cash or credit card. All regular sandwiches are one price ($4.70) but you can modify your order by asking for a "Skinny" (less stuff and thinner bread) or a "Big" (um...more stuff) and pay a little less or a little more. Oh, and don't forget to order a milkshake. They are the real deal and even come with a tiny cookie propped onto your straw. While there, take advantage of the discount movie tickets offer when you order a meal.
