The Glenmont location is just as good as the East Greenbush location. Maybe it is a little better, because the floorplan is a little less confined. Doesn't change the fact that the burgers and fries here are incredible. I think about them an awful lot. One of the reasons they are so haunting is that they are intensely beefy. And I know that should be obvious. But so much meat is not beefy these days. My burger at Red Robin wasn't. That beefy goodness has a way of lingering with you. In the very nicest way. I have learned two things since I started going to Five Guys. 1) They have a smaller burger. A single. While it is tasty (and lower calorie) it does not have quite the same perfect proportions as the standard burger... but it is a decent option if you just want a light repast... or for kids. Although, I might be tempted just to get the regular burger and just eat half of it instead. 2) If you get a large order of fries... dump them out on the brown bag... RIGHT AWAY! Those wonderful crisp tender fries turn to mush in the styrofoam cups. The trapped heat steams the suckers down on the bottom, and that is just so sad. Sure they get cold faster when exposed to the elements. Just better eat 'em fast, or share 'em with a worthy friend. I would love to eat here every day. But I hate shopping for new pants. My friend knew of them when she was living in Washington DC, so when we spotted this place, we HAD to stop and get some fries They were BEST FRIES I HAVE EVER EATEN and that includes the chips in London and that Belgium fry place in New York City. They are fried in peanut oil using only potatoes grown in northern lattitudes using a multi-step process and are, of course, fresh cut with the skin on. They are the crispiest best fries ever. The taste of the potatoes of In-N-Out fries are better, but the cooking techniques of Five Guys fries makes them the winner. They have bottles of malt vinegar too, my favorite over fries, Since we are vegetarians, we didn't sample the burgers. But they looked great and are made with fresh, not frozen ground beef. You can get your choice of free toppings, including sauteed mushrooms and onions. The chain bakes their own buns too, there are no preservatives used in anything. They have a veggie sandwich and also a grilled cheese that I'm going to try sometime. However, I can't seem to get past the fries. One order of fries is enough for 2 people, and I went back 4 days later and got an order of fries which I HAD to eat all by myself, so I didn't have room for a sandwich. I think I'm done eating for today. But the calories were worth it! So I have gone back and I got a grilled cheese and tomato sandwich. Awesome. So I have gone back (again and again) and got the veggie sandwich. If you don't get the greasy fried mushrooms and onions, it's actually almost healthy. You could counterbalance the fry thing with that, since of course the fries are mandatory. With the fries, if it's not too busy and you hover, you can tell the guy to skip the styrofoam container and just dump the fries right into the bag. It looks like White Castle on the inside. Friendly people. Clean look. They had burgers, big burgers and dogs. I asked if the dogs were grilled and they were. But, no sauerkraut. They've been asked for that before. Didn't seem important. The burger was good. It would have been better by far if they had been charbroiled. They weren't. To me, they're a 5/10. Not bad, not great. I prefer a charbroiled burger at a diner. Good char, good flavor, good service. The fries were plentiful. A little too salted and too greasy. Must be what people like here. They're inexpensive. The place is always busy after noon and on the weekends. At least that has been my experience. five guys has delicious fries. they are perfectly seasoned and always fresh. we took daniel b.'s advice, so we always dump them out onto the bag as soon as we get them. this keeps them all very crispy. they have malt vinegar or ketchup, but the fries are good enough to eat plain. mmmm...five guys burgers. the regular burger is actually two small patties on one bun. juicy and well done like the website says. my favorite is the bacon cheeseburger. there is plenty of bacon and it is always cooked to just the right amount of crispiness. you have a choice of over a dozen toppings including my favorite, grilled onions. the store itself is bright. i really like the white and red tiles on the walls. the store is clean, and the shells from the free peanuts are swept up frequently. the staff work with military precision, and seem to really enjoy working there. they are always friendly. even when the store is busy, you will be eating fresh burgers and fries in less than ten minutes. i doubt you can find better burgers and fries for the price. read more

Absolutely the best burgers and fries in town. Wendys, McDonalds and Burger King don't even come close. Service is very good, and everytime I have been there to the East Greenbush location, I have my food within 10 minutes of placing my order. You can taste the "real" meat in the burgers, not like the garbage the 3 national chains serve. Only place even close in meat quality is Red Robin. The cajun fries are over the top good, and as mentioned in an earlier review, you must pour them out onto the bag and chow them down. read more

Wow! Let's just say I've been around awhile. I had one of their burgers dropped off to me at work. When I opened it looked like the kids were playing street hockey with it. Well, street hockey or not, this burger was the best I have ever eaten! And I can tell you, that this is not coming from a 6 foot 160 lb. guy that snacks on carrots at lunch time. They are very suggestive with items and have suggested me some of the best milkshakes I've ever had. always seems to be a steady crew so you can tell they all get along and it is a good place to work for. food always takes less than 10 minuets and I can see them starting my order before I even pay for the food yet. that's the kind of service you should have at a fast food burger joint. although very expensive I never have left unsatisfied. me and my boyfriend love it read more
