    Pizza - Cheese

Was in the area for a long weekend. Buddy recommended this spot. Got a regular cheese. It was solid. I like the crust.

I've been to Romo's multiple times since the first time I reviewed this place and it has been much better. To clarify, the pizza was mediocre the first time I got it, but now it's much better. To explain, the crust is thin, crispy, and tastes homemade. Also, the sauce is enjoyable with a hint of sweetness. It's simply a good pizza. Likewise, the wings have been good as well. First off, I haven't gotten anymore hairs in them. In addition, the wings are crispy, juicy, and saucy. Also, they have a decent kick to them which adds flavor. As can be seen, Romo's has improved and they offer good pizza and wings.

What can I say? It's what I've been saying for years: Romo's is easily the best or tied for the best pizza place in the Albany area. Recently tried the cobra Kai 12 cut (rectangle/square) pizza and it was delicious. Romos runs a chicken parm special on Tuesday nights and a family meal deal on Wednesdays. Romo's is really great food.

This review is based on todays experience and past experiences. I used to live in the area and frequently would order pizza and wings, and sometimes would stop on my way home from work for dinner rather than head home to cook. I always enjoyed the pizza and staff in the past. However this experience was quite different. We had to stand and wait 10 minutes before being seated. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My aunt was with me and she has heart issues so we found a stack of chairs in the corner and she was able to sit while we were waiting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Once seated, we were waited on and ordered quickly. We ordered the fried pickles and Italian sandwich to share. Thankfully we did share as the food order was large and more than one of us could eat on our own. So, saying that, serving sizes are generous. I he been given a thank you for a free garlic know when I checked in, however when presented to my server, she asked if she could show it to her management. She came back and said they could not honor the coupon as they had no affiliation with Yelp. I wasn't angry, but I es surprised that for one garlic know that was the response. I felt that was rather silly they turned that down. Never has any place I checked in not honor a coupon before. As for the food, the fried pickles were excellent. The fries were on the overcooked side, and I felt the chicken sandwich was pretty bland. I would probably not order a sandwich again and stick to pizza or an Italian dish as I feel from past experiences that is what this place does best. Our server was very friendly but was not too prominent in checking on us and we sat quite some time waiting for her to show up so we could pay our bill and leave. Overall, this IS a place to try. You won't be disappointed with pizza for certain.

    small meatlover's pizza

Ordered Romo's for our galentine's night after a friend recommended it. We got one large half-cheese, half- pepperoni pizza and a small meatlovers. The portion size was standard and what we expected. Delivery came on time and we all agreed that their delivery bags and pizza boxes were suprisingly very aesthetically pleasing. The pizza itself was yummy, had a good crust to cheese ratio. We did warm up the pizza a bit to get it back to a nice temperature to enjoy. This is now my second preferred pizza spot in the area (after DeFazio's).

I've heard such good things about this restaurant plus my family always raves about it. Wish I could have had a better experience last night to give it a glowing review but unfortunately not the case. My family called ahead for 530pm for 2 kids and 6 adults Saturday night. We arrived about 5 minutes early and the place inside was packed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Togo area there's no actual room to wait inside once you order. They did have outdoor seating as it was nice out, it's a little tent in the front.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were sat in a corner that was a half booth half table chairs situation which was fine.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Waitress came over within a reasonable time, drinks in came back out and we put in apps. About 10 minutes later we ordered 3 pizzas, 2 dinners and a sub. The apps came out within about 20 minutes. However the pizza and the dinners were another story. The place was busy but the sub came out within maybe a half hour after ordering, the waitress keeps saying the food is coming. We saw again a busier place so we were understandably not surprised that it was taking longer than usual. Around 7pm we started asking for at-least the dinners so our kids could eat as they were over it. Around 725pm we got the dinners (1 spaghetti and meatballs and 1 rigatoni meatballs) they both were spaghetti and meatballs... so we had to send it back and wait another 5 minutes and finally these "award winning" pizzas around 730pm. Not sure if the kitchen was that backed up or our ticket was lost or the order just never put in. The taste of the food was good authentic Italian cuisine. Nothing special to write home about. The vodka pie was delicious but not worth a 2 hour wait. The bill came it was $200. Nothing was taken off the bill to accommodate the long wait, I mean fine but you say you strive on great customer service. Right from their perspective website "Our number one goal is to make each customer's experience the best one they can have. We understand that doesn't always happen. Mistakes can happen but we will always do our best to correct any issues or concerns you may have with an order." So would have been nice or "great" service to at-least compensated the drinks we had or an app, just something to say "sorry" to try to correct the situation. Needless to say this visit was disappointing. It might have just been an off night but I won't be back after this experience. Things to know: They are a family owned business and most of the family works in the restaurant which gives it a homey feel. Mondays they are Closed. Other nights they do close at 8pm. They do offer ToGos. As most others have mentioned not all menu items are available, so keep that in mind when trying to order. Parking lot is tight, people double park to get ToGos which makes it even more difficult and frustrating when trying to actually find a parking spot. After circling 3 times, we were parked. They are opening another location soon in voorheesville. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very kid friendly atmosphere, limited number of high chairs though.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]TVs are on mostly every wall to get caught up on your big games.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They do offer some kind of call ahead seating.

I can't believe I've never been to Romo's! And judging by my friends joy in every bite, they are better than they used to be. The self proclaimed anti-yelp owner has been improving and is currently putting out some amazing pizza. Don't try to use their check in offer, they hate yelp. Curious as to why, they have an average of 4 stars which probably higher than most pizzerias in the area. We came for the New Haven style pizza that won an award at a pizza competition in Naples, Italy. After a couple of trips to New Haven myself, I felt to be a decent judge to the style. Crisp, light, light topped, perfect char, great crust. This is the reason to come here. They are doing a killer job on the New Haven style pizza and I highly recommend getting the specialty pie that won. It has a delicious combination of high quality cheeses and fresh ingredients. The toppings applied with a careful hand to make a perfectly light pizza. We also tried the Sicilian style, this one had vodka sauce and cup and char pep. The pizza was really thick but the crust was still light and super airy which made it easy to eat and not super dense. I liked it here! I will definitely be back for the New Haven pizza again. I would recommend coming here and splitting some pizzas. I cannot speak for anything else on the menu, appetizers and entrees may not be up to par, but they are cranking out delicious pizzas.

I was able to book a reservation online for the same day. Of note, when you have the option of Main Floor or First Floor & Bar, just realize the Main Floor is up a flight of stairs. I'm not sure if there is a separate entrance but my wife was on crutches and she managed to get up the first three into the restaurant from outside but I don't think dining on the main floor would have been an option for us. Our server, Mike, was awesome and full of energy and enthusiasm. He offered suggestions and answered questions about details of the dishes. We were pleasantly surprised with how many menu items were marked v - vegan and v* - can be prepared vegan. This is great for us because it's another place in Albany that we will be able to go out to dinner with friends and everyone will be able.to find something to enjoy. The fried Artichokes are a must if you're looking for a starter. We were eyeing up the Fennel salad or vegan Caesar salad but opted to move on to main entrees. On this night they were out of the Gnocchi Cacio-Pepe which personally, I am not a gnocchi fan to start and Mike told us they were substituting a buccatini pasta instead... this had my attention! I went for his suggestion and chose the Arrabbiata instead which was delicious. My wife enjoyed her Wild Mushroom and Asparagus Risotto. We skipped dessert for this evening but there were vegan Gelato and cookie options for dessert as well. From start to finish it was such an enjoyable experience in this cozy corner restaurant which offers outdoor dining in the summer in the heart of Albany. We will totally be back with friends for another delicious meal at Rosanna's, the hidden gem in downtown Albany!

The cuisine was Italian inspired, and heavy on vegan and gluten free option, which is a great find locally, if you're looking for that. We were sat upstairs and I enjoy the ambiance here. I will note that the chairs are uncomfortable, which does not make a cozy dining experience. The cocktail menu was really great, a lot of gin options which is right up my alley. I had the Corpse Reviver and a glass of wine, both were great. We started with the shrimp balls, which sounded intriguing. They ended up being delightful, almost like loose crab cakes. The flavors were great and I loved the pesto. For my entree, I opted for the lemon mushroom tagliatelle. The pasta was very fresh and chewy, loved that. I enjoyed the combination of lemon and mushroom on the dish, but there were so many different mushrooms of all different textures, that some bites were more enjoyable than others. The snapper puttanesca was gorgeous as well. Overall it was a good meal, but I might have liked it a little more before the change. Definitely a great option if you are looking for dietary restrictions.

We were seated in the back of the main room which was cold (the A/C was cranking due to the heatwave outside), loud (from people, not music). The side room was lit more invitingly and I think I would want to be there. I heard Frank Sinatra on the radio when we walked in, but within 30 minutes the place was packed and it turned into a raucous environment. We started off with garden salads with their homemade tomato basil dressing. It sounded fantastic but I quickly discovered it was loaded... absolutely loaded... with red onions. My wife bravely ate hers and the pile of onions kept growing on the side of her plate. I couldn't eat mine because of them so they took it away. They offered to remake it sans onions but I decided to hold out for my entree. My wife thought it was overdressed, but for a chopped salad such as it was I think it was fine. My veal Marsala was excellent. Every restaurant does theirs differently and here it wasn't too sweet or too garlicky. The bread on the table was crustier than an old pirate which made it difficult to eat with the table oil dip provided. However, it was perfect for sopping up the veal's sauce. My wife had Chicken Sorrento and the portion was absolutely humungous with a slick cheese shield on the top. She felt bad that my portion of veal was much smaller in comparison, but I had the last laugh as I thought her dish was just average. It all came down to the red sauce: every place tastes different and here it tasted a bit more like stewed tomatoes. (FYI: no place makes it as good as my grandmother). I am glad I ordered a non-red sauce dish, though my side of penne with only light sauce (per my request) was decent. Their dessert menu was nice but uninspiring. That's okay, as we were mostly full. Prices were fair for a white table cloth Italian restaurant, though not inexpensive. That being said, I much prefer the place in Loudonville which has more interesting entrees and comparable prices.
