Having a food court Five Guys is awesome. They have tasty burgers that rival Shake Shack and some of the best fries anywhere (definitely better fries than Shake Shack). And while the burgers are the primary draw, their hot dogs are top notch and they make a mean grilled cheese sandwich. Natch, it gets pretty busy during peak times, but they run efficiently so wait times for food are pretty short for a made-to-order meal. The double burgers are more than enough food for anyone, and they definitely don't skimp on their awesome fries. The prices can get a little steep when you add everything up. It's the best food in the food court, though. read more

OK This is going to be careful. I was in the KoP mall and wanted lunch. I was for some reason in the mood for a burger so hit Five guys having heard about it. The fries were hot and very good, the coke was, a coke and the burger, even with two patties seemed small and a little dry but still it was edible and filled a spot and the wait for 'fast food' wasn't too long But the reason this is only 2 stars is the price. A basic burger, small fries and coke was nearly $20! It wasn't that good a burger. That is nearly twice what you'd pay for a big mac meal at McDonalds and the quality was not twice as good and it was less filling. Add on a slice of cheese to the basic burger would have added $1 to the cost. uh, have you seen what you'd pay retail for a packet of cheese slices? so the mark up on this is even worse. I customized the living hell out of my burger, and I'd do it again. I had a bacon cheeseburger - they're freaking huge, by the way - and tossed on relish, grilled onions, a few pickles, tomatoes, grilled mushrooms, jalapeno peppers (love the spice), and green peppers. Atop that heaping, greasy mess, I asked them to slather A-1 sauce on. A few of the toppings I requested aren't part of Five Guys's complimentary toppings, and upped the bill accordingly. Not only does Five Guys keep raising their prices to the point of absurdity, their employees are rude and couldn't care less about your experience. I grew up in Northern Virginia and remember the original Five Guys in Arlington. I guess the owners got greedy and forgot about the value in customer service. After experiencing Shake Shack yesterday, I decided to do a quick comparison today for lunch. I'm usually a Five Guys fan, so this location was a natural comparison to Shake Shack since they're close by. I ordered the same exact thing here as I ordered yesterday at SS.... Single bacon cheeseburger, hot dog and drink. Price wise, pretty much the exact same total. However the equivalent burger is cheaper here than at the Shack. The hot dogs are cheaper at the Shack. Use that information accordingly. The hot dogs were comparable. You don't usually go to Five Guys for hot dogs though. The burger I had, well... I was surprised. I thought it lacked a little something here. The bacon was overcooked a bit which made it lose its flavor. The beef seemed a little bland to me. I usually like Five Guys. So this is just as surprising to me. I didn't hate the burger. I just wasn't wowed by it. I think my trips out west to In N Out last year have spoiled me. read more

My mouth waters just thinking about Five Guys. First off, being a SoCal native - the land of the In N Out, I won't compare Five Guys to In N Out because I think they are slightly different animals. You can get a very good and inexpensive burger at In N Out (i.e. around $2.50 or so), whereas at Five Guys, you can get a slightly more expensive burger with a heaping helping of toppings for a little bit more. (Plus, a huge distinction between the two is peanut oil. 'Nuff said there.) As it's been noted, the fries at Five Guys are top notch, especially the Cajun fries. Mmm. I've recently downgraded myself to a Little Cheeseburger because a) I'm a wuss and b) I can't devour a regular one without feeling super full. The staff here are pretty nice. I'm California born and raised. So, yes, I'm a bit of an snob when it comes to burgers by claiming that Innout kicks all fastfood burger restaurants' asses. Decided to try some Five Guys. I ordered a cheeseburger with my desired additions. My husband ordered a double cheeseburger with his stuff. I was looking for a burger with a thick patty because that's what I like. When I peeled away the wrapper like a greedy bastard. I was surprised by how tiny the burgers looked. I mean, let's be real. The burgers here are pretty pricey for fast food. I was expecting more, but I didn't get more than what I would get from Innout for a fraction of the price. As a teenager, the King of Prussia mall was virtually my second home. I spent more time trolling its well-lit corridors than I did in school, that's for sure. The Chick-Fil-A in the food court also earned about 20% of my gross annual income at the time, but if Five Guys had been there, it would have been more of a horse-race. Burgers come in customizable sizes -- little burgers (one patty), big burgers (two patties) and even vapor-lock size (three patties!). I always choose a "little burger" topped with cheese, mushrooms, grilled onions, mayo and lettuce and it's definitely ample enough to fill me up. The fries are hand-cut from actual potatoes on-site, and the brimming, grease-stained paper bagful you receive is surely enough to share. They are usually nice and crispy, but sometimes you'll get a sad sack of limp guys. And nobody likes limp guys. Tables are plentiful, but the mall food court can get quite crowded on weekends and during the weekday lunch hour with dudes trying to keep ketchup on the burger and off their ties. Circle shark-like to score a seat, and remember to recycle your bottles and cans... they have new separate bins for recyclables. read more

I'm not sure if it's this particular location or what, but my first Five Guys experience was a miserable one: The meat on the burgers was dry and sandpapery. I know I probably shouldn't compare it to the Holy Grail that is In-N-Out, but if they don't want me to compare, then why does the place look almost exactly the same? With that said, while In-N-Out's burgers are juicy, flavorful, delicious things of beauty, Five Guys' offerings in the burger department are, well... Overcooked. That's really all I can think to say about them. On the other hand, the fries were delicious. Thick, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, satisfyingly greasy but still light enough that I could probably eat a bucketful... Both of the stars in this review are for the fries! Zero stars for the burgers! I won't bother reviewing Five Guys food, since there are already many reviews of this chain's multiple locations in the region - it suffices to say that most people really like the Five Guys hamburgers although there is a vocal minority that says they are nothing special. Rather, I'll review this location in the context of the often groady mall food court experience. First off, you can clearly see the food preparation area and it is spotless; no filthy shirted teenagers wiping their noses and popping gum. Second, they've clearly trained their employees in the basics of customer service - smile, make eye contact, don't treat the customer as unwanted annoyance. Third, your cooked-to-order food is prepared about quickly as you could expect, so you're not waiting too much longer than you would at the food court places that serves you slop from a tray in the steam table. A final note is that it is really easy to order too much food at Five Guys. I'm an overweight six foot tall guy. The "little hamburger" and half an order of regular-size fries is enough to stuff me. It actually doesn't look like much food when you get it; I suppose it must be very dense, because it leaves your stomach full. Trust me, when I've gotten more, I've regretted it. read more

I stopped in right at open on a weekday, service was friendly and pretty quick. The burgers are amazing, as they are at any location, but they're also damn pricy, as is the case with most of the "craft burger" places of the same type (Elevation Burger, Wayback, Smashburger, b.good, Shake Shack). I got a Bacon Cheeseburger (which means two patties), a drink, and a regular fry, and found myself paying ~$16 for lunch. Little more than I had expected to pay. For those unfamiliar (if there are any, Five Guys has been around forever now), a regular french fry is A TON of fries, because it includes the regular cylindrical container for fries, along with the "filler," which is a whole additional scoop of fries they just dump in your bag with your food at the end. It's basically two orders of regular fries. Unless you're incredibly hungry, I'd stick with the smaller size for one person. read more

This Five Guys location opened up in the King of Prussia mall a few weeks back. It's in the food court, the older one that has the Taco Bell and Subway. Five Guys really brings some class to the selection. The food here is fantastic. The burgers are the best in the area, made with fresh beef that is never frozen. The fries are also the best in the area, and possibly the best I've ever had anywhere. They fry them in peanut oil and they give you tons of them. It's a nice, big place (for a mall food court) that has the typical Five Guys look. There's lots of room to mill around while waiting for your order to be ready. There were plenty of people working there each time I've been there, so you don't have to wait very long for your stuff to be made. Five Guys is the best burger place around and it's great to have one in such a convenient location. read more

So...I should have read the reviews before heading here because I did not realize this Five Guys was in the Mall. Now I know. Walking through the terribly lit and dingy food court at the mall was worth the trip to enjoy the sparkling heaven on earth burgers that are Five Guys. I'm a regular bacon cheese guy with standard toppings and I was not disappointed. My favorite thing at Five Guys is having the burgers handed to you buy the actual burger builder. I will say for this locale that the fries were awesome. Crispy, salty, and a tad peppery. Five guys is a good burger place, not the best, but good for fast food. I like the fries with the skins on. Gots to add a lot of salt. I like how the floor is so greasy some days you could slip and fall. Wear boots. The place is very casual, like McDonalds without the ball pit. The food is expensive for what it is. And they really need beer. So that I can imbibe, I do take out and drive 90 mph down 202 to Malvern. But it's always cold by the time I get home. And last time they left the bacon off my burger. Boo. This location of Five Guys is very similar to the other locations of the joint that I have visited. Order your burger (little cheeseburger, lettuce, pickles, ketchup, mustard)/fries/drinks and wait for five minutes. Munch on peanuts if you're hungry. The burger was a bit thinner than I remember, but the flavors, as always, were meaty and delicious. Something I noticed recently is that the chain created a "small" fry-- it feeds "1 to 2" people, which was an adequate descriptor. I was very pleased about this, as it meant that I could order fries and NOT burst at the seams. Something about the peanut oil makes the fries feel so heavy, so I was really happy to have a manageable portion (still filled quite a bit of the bag, haha, even if it was a smaller cup). I am usually at KOP on a sorta regular basis to eat at one of their food courts and I eat at Five Guys whenever I am extremely hungry. The first time I ate here, I was a little hesitant since it was much more expensive than what I was used to (McD's, BK, etc). The guy at the counter basically said to me, "Trust me, it's worth it." He was right. That little bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions, mushrooms, and A1 sauce was amazing! The fries were amazing as well although I felt that the small order was way too much. I returned to the counter when I was done and said to him, "You were right" and he smiled in agreement. I have eaten there a few more times over the past several months and the burgers and fries have always been amazing. The staff has always been very nice to me, even offering me a free refill of my drink from time to time, since I usually sit close by. That kind of service coupled with the amazing attention to detail with the food has shied me away from burger places like McD's and BK. Five Guys has kind of raised my standards for what a burger should be like. I just make sure to eat there only when I'm absolutely hungry as the portions are huge. I am unsure if they do this at this location, but I know that you can preorder online through their website and just stop over and pick up your order. This is useful if you are in a hurry or if you have a really big order. I have seen this done once at another location when a bunch of friends of mine were placing a big order for 8 of us. They messed up our order but felt so bad for the mess-up, they gave us our corrected order and extra fries for free. We were extremely full that night with 2 burgers and a huge amount of fries, but were so satisfied from the meal. This is BY FAR the worst Five Guys to order from. I've only been there 2 times and both times were terrible experiences. The employees move with zero sense of urgency even though it's busy. The employees are unprofessional and not friendly. And I can't not emphasize enough the speed at which they work. They all move like molasses. I could see one of the employees stomachs because their shirt was untucked and sloppy. Just an all around bad customer experience. I wasn't even hungry, but missing In-n-Out, i was searching for something to plug that hole.
