Long time 5 Guys customer. I have had 5 guys in the East, West, Mid-West , San Marcos and here in New Braunfles. As always the burger was excellent and the fries as always were the best. 5 Guys has always had the tradition of giving more that you pay for by adding that extra scoop of fries to the order. Not today the small bag of fries was full; but, there was not one extra fry in the bag. I noticed other tables appeared to have the abundance of fries. This place is near our house and always a good choice whenever we want somewhere fast and good. It is located in a shopping center so theres plenty of parking. When entering the business, it has an old school burger vibe and of course the all you can eat peanuts to keep you occupied when waiting on your food. The service is always great and the food comes out quick and they always load your bag with plenty of fries, so don't order too much because a small could feed about 3 people. But this food chain is good and I have never had an issue with them, and I will most likely be back again soon when in need of a decent burger. read more

Okay so five guys in New Braunfels says reopen. On the same day. The lays announced they had to reduce their prices by 15% because consumers weren't buying their products. I went to go see if five guys had taken a page from that book. No they have not. Don't get me wrong. It's a good product. The little burger is more meat than on a single at In-N-Out Burger. Their fries are markedly better and a more generous portion. Nobody has the diversity of toppings for a burger than they have here at five guys. Of course everyone looks at value differently and who am I to judge. For my money? I'm not going to spend 75% more to eat here than In-N-Out which is about two blocks away. 5 Guys has been a go-to place for us for burgers. Unfortunately, the San Marcos store closed. We have tried this New Braunfels location twice. Once a few months ago (and it was not good), and we decided to try it again today. It is truly AWFUL. Both times, the bun was completely stale. The meat was over-cooked and under-seasoned. Very SMALL beef patty (diameter). Two single burgers, one small fries, and two drinks were $35. I don't know if other 5 Guys have gone down hill, but I will never go back to this location. I thought they understood that I'd want an equal amount of Bacon to Patty ratio. This was not the case, just got a regular old bacon cheeseburger with "extra" bacon. Well it has been a while since we have been to Five Guys. We stopped at this one in New Braunfels for a last minute lunch. It was pretty busy and the prices for burgers caught me off guard. But we stayed. I ordered the large Bacon cheeseburger, my niece order the small Bacon cheeseburger and the misses got a small cheeseburger. We also ordered a large fry and some drinks. I like 5 guys even though it's way over priced. so every once in a while I'll splurge and buy some. but lately it seems like the quality of food has gone down, pretty much everywhere. I was a chef for 15 yrs so I fully understand the restaurant and HOSPITALITY industry. now for the employees, when handing me my order I said thank you and smiled, the person did not even acknowledge me, no eye contact, no your welcome or thank you for coming in. very cold and unwelcoming. whoever made the burger looked in the pan of lettuce, saw the rotten brown scraps and thought yes, this is acceptable to serve someone. literally all they had to do is reach in the cooler for a fresh head of lettuce and cut off a couple pieces. there were 5-6 employees standing around, it was slow, it's not like they busy and just trying to keep up. people just don't give a anymore and the customer pays the price. management needs to do a better job paying attention to what their employees are serving people. My wife's directional directions brought us to Five Guys. I am going to tell you about my experience and what I could see in the place. Well, it's busy, the prices are not good, the attention from the cashier was excellent and clear with very good recommendations. The atmosphere was very calm and the wait time for the food was a little long, but they offer you peanuts, all the peanuts you want, of course, with the intention of distracting you so that you don't pay much attention to your watch, which is very good, because you can also serve yourself with more juice or soda, and the most important part is that you can have a conversation, but keep on mind that you need to left your phone in your pocket. The tables were not completely clean, and that is when I could appreciate the lack of staff. Even so, I enjoyed a delicious Bacon Cheese Burger and my wife enjoyed a Cheese Burger, both with this flavor of fresh meat and potatoes cut and prepared right there. Wow, I loved it. Food is good and always hot. I don't go here often though as it is on priced side for a burger. This time I ordered ahead and clicked "I'm here" on the app like it instructed to do so. It then followed saying head to front counter to pick up order. I waited for about 10-15 minute and after people who came in after me got their order I asked if they knew how much longer on my order. After figuring it out the lady who was running it all said "just so you know you have to let us know when you are here." Well i had never ordered online at this restaurant and wasn't instructed in the app to do so. I was given $7.03 for the mistake and then asked to sign a piece of paper and I refused. I paid cash and the guy handling it was rude, confused because it may have been the first time he has met someone that thinks for themselves. The burgers were ok but for the price we could have gone to Outback. Burgers shouldn't be $9 a piece. The fries were good and plentiful. A really good burger fast! I like the little bacon burger-plain. They do have several options for toppings. Mushrooms, lettuces, pickles, mayo etc. They give large portions of fries. 3 of us shared a large and still had leftovers. I love their self-serve soda machine. They have multiple flavor options. Ordered a cheese dog at lunch today and it came plain, nothing all all but some gross cheese stuck to the bread. No mayo, mustard, anything. That's not what I ordered. When I went back and told the girl it wasn't what I wanted, she proceeded to ring up another order for a hot dog all the way and charge me another $7.44! What? This is the second time we tried 5 Guys. It took over 25 minutes to make one hamburger and a veggie sandwich. The veggie fell apart and the cooked jalapeño were raw. The fries were soggy and the person putting your burger together had to open the burgers back up because he didn't remember or know what he had made. The way place wasn't busy.
