I don't know why we had not tried this place as it is on my list of places to try. However, that changed this week, and I'm glad it did. Now that tourist season is over, New Braunfels is back on my areas to eat list. We decided that we would try this on a weekday night. We used one of apps for driving directions to get to this place. That turned out to be the only bad thing about this trip. For whatever reason, it took us on a very circuitous route. If I had known that it was located across the street from Pat's Place, I could have driven straight to it. When we finally arrived, I was not sure it was open. Also, signage was poor, so we didn't see it right away. When we did get into the parking lot, parking was easy, and we were able to get next to the entrance. We walked in and were greeted immediately by the young lady behind the counter. She was very friendly, and finding out it was our first time, she explained the entire process for us. Seeing they had Hatch Chili for the Down the Hatch burger, I knew what I had to have (Have you had Hatch Chili on your burger? Once you try it, you will never go back to typical burgers). My wife ordered the classic burger fixed just like she likes it. We also ordered an order of fries. Our food was made fresh and delivered quickly. The lady that brought our food to the table turned out to be the manager, and she was so nice. In fact, she even gave us a free ice cream for dessert:) Our food was piping hot and made just as we ordered. I took one bite and said I'll definitely be coming back. My wife loved her food too. In addition to the burgers being great, I have to say that the fries might have been the best I've ever had. Seriously! They were just crisp enough, hot, fresh, seasoned well, and nongreasy. Have gone to Tin Top lots of times & it never disappoints! I got the Bacon Mushroom Swiss burger, it was so good. My friend got the Classic Cheeseburger, he love the mayo! We shared the Hatch Cheddar tots and they perfect to share and super delicious. We sat outside and the weather was so nice. They have outside playground for kids which really nice. The patio is shaded for the summer months. They have an ice cream shop attached, so yum! You order at the front counter and the server was nice. What a fun adventure for burgers we had while at Tip Top! It's always fun for me to explore places that are converted older homes. Definitely walk around the place and look through the windows. I love imagining what all of the rooms used to be and what they would have looked like originally. The staff was so nice and helpful. The burgers were tops, the name is accurate. We shared burgers at the table and nobody was all that impressed. We felt that we would have been better off at a different burger place known for their fry sauce for half the price. Came here the other day for a quick bite and was not disappointed. I walked here from downtown, but I did notice that they have a good amount of parking behind the restaurant. When I went in, there was only one group ahead of me, and they were just picking up their food. I ordered a Good Morning Burger, Onion Rings, and a Hopadillo. I paid for my meal at the register and was given a buzzer and my beer. I took a seat near the front and took a couple of pictures while I waited. The wait was not long at all. The food was brought to my table. They do use buzzers, so this this is probably not the norm. I was one person and sat near the front. It would be harder to keep this up for a large group that sat outside. Bringing the food to the table might not be the norm, but I appreciated it. The Onion Rings were crispy and very tasty. This burger was not what I was expecting. It was dry and tough and the tater tots were almost freezer burned and tasteless. Also had a kids order of chicken tenders those were flat pancakes of dried tasteless chicken. For a place that was given best burger for 2025, I am not sure what changed for this to be so terrible. The place itself tries to give a quirky one but it honestly comes off unorganized. Random chairs, booths and stadium seats not everyone's cup of tea but I can see how a lot of folks love it. Service is very mid I understand tipping culture is getting out of hand, but it's really evident when the person behind the register neither welcomes you or walk you through the menu, even though they are looking at you, want her around looking for a way to order. The food itself is very solid and fairly priced. The only sad part was that the regular burger and the kids burger are about the same size so if you don't care about the fancy toppings, save yourself some money and order the kids meal. The redeeming qualities were the manager checking up on the tables and the redheaded young lady at the ice cream side. It came out hot and full of flavor. You order in line and come pick up your order. If I would complain about anything, it would be the flies. I'm not sure what they can do about them because their doors open so often but it was hard to enjoy the meal inside when you are fighting as many flies as you would outside. Had a great lunch at Tin Top today. We had our two puppies with us and were able to sit out on the patio and a picnic table with them while we enjoyed lunch. The resturaunt is East to find and is attached to an ice cream parlor. This location has its own parking and is easy to access. Once you arrive it has a honey feeling to it and the menu is up above the register. They have various options to choose from and also have a burger of the month. I ended up ordering the Bacon Mushroom Swiss burger with fries and my girlfriend ordered the Down the Hatch burger with tots. Both burgers were good and the overall experience was nice.
