All Five Guys locations that I have eaten at are consistent across the board. The ordering system is easy, and you get your order made to order. Portion sizes can be big, especially an order of fries, regardless of whether it is a small or large order. I suggest a hamburger all the way with a side of malt vinegar. There are also free peanuts to munch on. Five Guys is a solid choice for lunch, dinner, or snack. Prices seem fair for the amount of food that you receive. read more

This is the second time that we've placed an online order and waited waaaaaay too long to get our order. Our order, which consisted of two burgers and one fry, was to be ready at 7:52pm. We received our order at 8:10pm. There were plenty of workers but it took almost 26 minutes from time of order (7:44pm) until we received it...on a Monday evening. I know Five Guys used to conduct mystery shops and I'm certain that if they still do, the Newport location would fail miserably. It is a shame because the burgers are great. It also seems I'm not the only one who has had issues getting their online order in a timely fashion. read more

Yesterday, I placed my online order and it was set to be picked up at 6:45pm. I got there at 6:50pm and waited 25 minutes for my food. The workers ignored me initially when I walked in, asked my name after 5 minutes or so, and continued to ignore me. They didn't start my order until 7:10pm. I asked for my money back and was told I would've had to get it back online, since my order was placed online. I didn't want to go through the run around with that, so I just waited more time for my order. What's the point in ordering online, if you have to wait 20-30 minutes for it when you get there to pick it up? I watched about 12 orders get placed and fulfilled before they even acknowledged mine. This is just one bad experience of four. There's been an inconvenience literally every time I've been to this location lately. If it's not making my order wrong, it's something like this. Not to mention, I watched the workers sit bare slices of cheese down on bare countertop before proceeding to put them on someone's burger. Gloves also weren't changed in between making orders, after touching certain ingredients (pork bacon). Someone who doesn't eat pork could get really sick. I love the burgers at Five Guys, they are what I want when I want something greasy and horrible for me. Haha. I don't eat it a lot, maybe once or twice a year. But when I do get it, the burgers are always amazing. Since the UC Five Guys closed a couple years ago, the next closest one to downtown is this one that is located at Newport On The Levee. The guys always working here are super cool and get your food out fast. It's usually pretty clean location too. The only cons to this one are that you have to deal with parking. If you don't want to park in the parking garage, you can park on the street but make sure you bring some change because most of the meters in Newport still only take change. The other thing is that since this location is direct across from the Newport Aquarium, there is ALWAYS thirty children and their suburban moms in here. Today there was a kid lying on the floor, flat on his face crying and screaming and his mother just walked over him and got a soda. It was pretty unbearable to listen to. However, I guess the pro to that con is that you can walk into this location for five minutes during lunch and get free birth control. I promise you that your ovaries will drive out without minutes. All in All, this is a good location and is probably one of the best choices at the Levi for food. read more

5 Guys isn't my first choice but in a pinch it will hit the spot. Some things I like: there's actually a veggie-burger type option, which amounts to them taking a bunch of the vegetable toppings and grilling them and slapping it on a bun. Not bad but not amazing. If you're as hungry as I was, it will suffice. I've had their burgers and find them to be a little greasy and not that flavorful. But maybe that was an anomaly. I came in last night at 8:30pm and it was made clear by two of the staff that they would not be serving me...there was literally a cook shaking her head no to me before I had a chance to order. The customer service was average, the dinning room was closed due to Covid. Pretty happy with the food but the price is high for a burger and fries. Five Guys is normally an amazing experience. You get great burgers and loads more fresh fries than the hungriest person can eat - even if you get a small order. My visit started with a 5 minute wait as I stood at the order counter while the cooks talked to each other about 5 feet away from me. We were two of 4 people there at the time, so I didn't think they could be too busy. Finally when 4 people got in line behind me, one of the employees came up to take my order. They made a mistake, and they needed to void off an item. A manager was yelled for. Then again. Then multiple employees yelled for the manager. After someone walked behind a door to get the manager, the manager slowly walked towards the counter. He entered a code, and he slowly walked away. Huge help there pal. Five Guys for some reason uses the Coca Cola Freestyle machine which can be great if it is cleaned often. The Levee location doesn't do this well. The drinks will always have a strange mix of all flavors no matter what you pick. My order number was called out about 10 minutes later. Not too bad I thought. Then I saw I was given the wrong bag of food. No skin off my back, as I returned it to the counter. The issue I had was no apology given. They just took the bag out of my hands and yelled for the right customer. My food didn't come for another five minutes. The fries were pretty hot, but they weren't fried to any sort of crisp. Limp fries, but the burger wasn't bad. I'll give them that. In short, this location doesn't do Five Guys justice. Avoid this location. read more

Poor customer service. It was very crowded and we had to take a table at the back of restaurant. We couldn't hear them calling numbers and after about 10 minutes we went up to the front- 2 separate orders - they called Alaina's first (she ordered before me)- I said to the guy both of our numbers- 61 & 62 and he handed hers. I waited as she returned to the table to eat. And waited. And waited. After they stopped cooking and were cleaning up I returned to my seat to dig out my receipt to complain- went back to the counter and they finally asked what my number was- 62 (I had already said this to the same guy)- oh he called that a long time ago- and pulled my bag off the top of the fry warmer. GROSS. As I am reaching across the counter to take my bag the female worker screamed as loud as she could 64! In my freaking ear. Needless to say I shot her the nastiest look and returned to my seat. My friends were already done eating by the time I got my disgusting burger. All the toppings were mush. Seriously- you couldn't call my number louder when I didn't show up? Just experienced possibly the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. There are about 15 people in line ahead of us. We waited our turn, ordered, and it took over 1 hour to receive our order. There were 9 of us. 1 burger was missing and 1 was wrong. The receipt was given to one of the workers to show what we were missing and to fix the one burger. After 10 minutes -- still no burgers. We asked for the receipt back because we needed for a business expense lunch. The worker threw the receipt in the trash can and asked us to leave. No one yelled or used bad language, but he insisted we leave. When asked his name he repeatedly said "You call me whatever you want". So many people were upset about the length of time to get their food they were requesting a refund. The cashier threatened to quit until another worker talked to her into staying. NEVER go to this Five Guys. it is AWFUL. I have been to several others and this one is definitely NOT representative of the brand. read more

Without a doubt one of the wort fast/casual dining experiences I have ever had! #1) I should qualify this to be fair, it was 3:00 PM on Saturday March 11th and it was very crowded. Though not much more than any usual dinner/lunch rush. Cons: Not enough seats! Bathrooms not big enough, so long line! I DO NOT LIKE the Coke free style machines, these become very problematic when it's crowded, 2 taps with 10 minute lines waiting for your drinks....and this is after 20 Minutes to get your food. NOT GOOD!!! THE FOOD: Dead average. Culvers, Freddy's, and Steak and Shake all better in my humble opinion. The fries are like Penn Station, skin on, and I absolutely despise these type of fries. Now if they are very crispy they can be edible, but when they are soggy not so much... these were soggy. The above mentioned places do it right fry wise. My double cheese burger wasn't horrible, but the American cheese tasted FAKE, wasn't melted and was very synthetic tasting. I removed the cheese, that made it better. The main problem is the Price! I can eat at Culvers ($2.00 cheaper) Freddy's ($5.00 cheaper) and Steak and Shake ($6.00 cheaper) and the food is just plain better... I am really at a loss why this place is so hyped? It really is not all that! THE SERVICE: Again it was very busy, so might be better when moderately busy? Every 4 or 5 minutes the yelling your order number was to say the least an issue. He yelled so loud that a few times we'd jump from being startled until we got used to it, it was a major annoyance. Had it not been 35 degrees outside we would have eaten outside. Five Guys is a welcome addition to the culinary choices at the Levee, offering something halfway between the quicky/quirky 'lite-fayre' of Tom & Chee and the table-serviced (and thus more expensive) Brio or Claddagh. I have been watching it being built inside the old Johnny Rockets space for the past few months, salivating at the notion of opening day and trying Five Guys' rightly-famous fresh handcut french fries once again. Well, doors opened this morning and yes, I was one of those eager 'early adopters' where I would discover if my memory and reality matched up. Y'see, I had a "Five Guys Experience" (purely in the restaurant sense y'understand?!) a couple of years ago in Crestview Hills. On that occasion the burger graded a "Meh+" but the fries were VERY memorable indeed. Would they seem as good second-time round? Weeeeelllll.... they were unfortunately INCREDIBLY salty. Salty to the point of not being able to really enjoy them. I think if I had connected my blood pressure monitor to my arm whilst eating them the readings would have taken on the appearance of a fruit machine, together with accompanying flashing lights and - had I finished them - another free ride in an ambulance. So, disappointed? Well, let's give Five Guys the benefit of the doubt by suggesting my serving was something of a first day anomaly... which I would have normally fixed had there not been so many people waiting for their food at the counter. My burger choice - with grilled onions, mushrooms, ketchup & mayo - was as 'average' as the one I had a few years ago. Not great, not awful, just kinda 'OK'. However, I think dependent on your topping choices - you can have as many as you want, 'free' - burger tastiness will generally tend to vary quite considerably. (My personal taste buds are perhaps a little too conservative) This new location has an outdoor covered eating area, the regular free shelled peanuts (to eat whilst you're waiting) and a pair of those fancy-schmancy soda machines that seem to be popping up in a few places lately. These machines offer a ludicrously extensive range of soft drinks which, even more ludicrously, you can mix and match in the same cup. Kids are going to LOVE them, parents will merely shake their heads in certain horror. I'll chalk today's lackluster experience up to first day nerves. I'll maybe come back here in a few weeks/months time - when they should have ironed out all the kinks - and amend my review and star rating. read more

I like their burgers and fries, but this location hasn't meet my expectations of other Five Guys I have visited. The burger was good but the fries were not, they were hard in the center and soft on the outside. The staff was friendly but there were about 8-10 employees yet it took about 8 minutes to get my food. The ordering went fast, but it seems there was only one person making burgers while other stood around to do their part of the job instead of being a team atmosphere to get the job done quickly. The inside wasn't that clean so we took out food to go and eat along the river. With all of the employees there you would thing they would be on top of things in the store, but they weren't one of the machines didn't have Mellow Yellow fortunately the other one did. read more

Yep, the burgers are good, definitely better than McDonalds or any of those chains. I had the bacon cheeseburger one with almost all the toppings and everything was very fresh. What I didn't like were the fries. We Belgians are proud of our fries and we like them goldbrown and crispy. These fries were not crispy at all, just very soft. We only finished like a 10th of our portion of medium fries. The other thing is that it's not a very cozy place, but I guess I can't expect a lot more from a hamburger place: good burgers, it's a start...! read more

We ordered two burgers - a burger bowl and a burger - from the Newport Kentucky location tonight and only the burger bowl was in the bag when DoorDash delivered it. It's bad enough that a small simple order like two burgers can't be filled correctly, but I called to see if there was some way to resolve this tonight. You see, I have a rare type of hypoglycemia called rapid-transit hypoglycemia where my blood sugar regularly drops into the 30's, so I needed to have dinner. My husband would have given me his burger bowl that he got because he has the opposite problem of diabetes, but there aren't enough carbs in a burger bowl to meet my medical need, so that wouldn't work. When I called to see if the burger could be sent out to me after seeing that all DoorDash would do was refund the money - there wasn't a send the missing item out option - the manager was called to the phone. I've rarely talked to someone so rude and hateful. He told me that the burger was in the bag because there wasn't one leftover on the counter, so I had to have it. I told him not to call me a liar - that the burger wasn't in the bag. He told me he wasn't calling me a liar. I told him that when you tell someone the burger is in the bag when I'm saying it's not that you are calling me a liar. He then told me to take it up with Doordash and get my money back, because they must have taken the burger out of the bag. One, the bag was sealed, so they couldn't have taken the burger out. Two, I let him know that the reason I called was because Doordash only gives refunds and I'm hypoglycemic so I called them directly to see if there was a way to resolve this in a way that would allow me to get my dinner that wasn't in the bag when it arrived. More hatefulness even as I expressed my medical needs. By the time I got off the phone with this manager, I was near to tears he was so rude, hateful, and non-compassionate about the medical need his staff had caused by messing up a simple two burger order. I was so upset by his attitude that I told him off and hung up on him and he deserved it. I called the corporate office practically in tears and told them what happened and they were nice enough as they took my complaint. How they handle it when they call back as they said they would will determine my future attitude about Five Guys overall, but as for the Newport location and the person who manages it - I'm not happy at all.
