Had to try the world renowned Skyline Chili while in Cincinnati! The food came out quick and fresh. I had a small coney dog and a medium 5-way. The dog was a little bland for my liking, but they had a delicious mound of cheese and the chili that helped out with the flavor. The 5-way is a must for similar reasons. I ate at this Skyline Chili location last week while visiting Cincinnati. The hot dogs were good and the spaghetti was alright by itself, but the chili was delicious. The chili was good and it had a bit of a spicy kick to it. It wasn't anything crazy, but it definitely has some spice flavoring (which I really liked). The funnel cake fries were, by far, the best part of the meal. They were fresh and crispy, tasted great, and were probably the best funnel cake fries I've ever had. The service was quick and the waitresses were very nice. The restaurant was clean as well. There's plenty of parking at the sides and back of this restaurant, so parking shouldn't be a problem either. Skyline Chili. How i love thee. This is less of a review and more of an "ode to skyline"... There is no place quite like it. Always friendly service. Clean dining area and bathrooms. Easy menu full of choices that do not include cincinnati chili. But if you do decide to partake in the delicacy of cincinnati chili this is the place to start! If i'm doing carry out i usually go with three conies with everything. If i'm dining in which i prefer to do i eat at the counter. Get a three way with crackers under the spaghetti (pro-tip), cheese coney with everything and a diet soda (skyline just changed from coke products to Pepsi). The greek salad is also really good. Veggies are always fresh, not what you would expect from a chili place. If you are a newbie couple more pro tips for you: 1. When eating chili spaghetti always turn the plate 90 degrees and cut with the fork. That way you get all the goodness with every-bite. No cincinnatian worth their salt twirls their fork. 2. For your appetizer put hot sauce on your oyster crackers. Its delicious and free. 3. Skyline is family friendly. Look for kids eat free nights during the week 4. Skyline is family friendly. Always busy. 2. Oakley on madison. Great staff. Always clean. Always a good vibe 3. Clifton on clifton ave. Fun being on campus, cute store front. Can get a little too busy. 4. Downtown on 4th street. Always clutch before a reds game and they have beer! 5. Kings island drive. This is more sentimental. But i use to work here (when it was a sizzler) and it was the closest one to lebanon before lebanon built their own skyline. I finally had my chance to try Skyline after year of knowing people from Cincy and hearing about Skyline. Yes, I grew up in Texas where beef and chili is a way of life so hearing about Skyline peaked my curiosity. My husband and I stopped in around 11:30 on a Thursday morning, no crowds and the earliest I've ever had a pile of spaghetti topped with chili, a huge mountain of shredded cheddar and chopped onions. This location has a diner feel. The lady that took care of us was friendly and chatted with me when she found out it was my first time at Skyline. My husband placed his order, while I decided on the 4 way (with onions), and a sweet tea. The spaghetti seemed like they might've been from the previous day (they just didn't seem like hot, fresh spaghetti). The chili was good, not the dark brown/red chili I'm familiar with from Texas, and I picked up on the subtle flavor of cinnamon. The chopped onions weren't overpowering at all, and the mountain of shredded cheese was huge, so much cheese that a forkful was just cheese a few times. There is a bottle of hot sauce which I used to add heat to my dish. I enjoyed my 4 way, even if the spaghetti wasn't freshly cooked, and the chili was a little on the chintzy side. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience. I'm hoping my next trip will be the one that leaves me happy I went for Skyline. The sweet tea was good, so that's a plus! read more

Very casual no frills dining. This Greek style meat chili recipe (beans are a side to be added) has 20+ spices. The recipe has a unique flavor that can make it a 'love it-hate it' type relationship, but it can grow on you if you've tried it enough. And just to mention after a night out with friends, this is a stomach cure for me! I ordered the 4-way with Onion; layer of spaghetti topped with Chili, diced onions and a heaping mound of shredded cheddar cheese, plus oyster crackers served with every meal. I also love their mini grilled hot dogs, so I cut these up and add it to my 4-way to create my own 5-way, yum!! You can also order dishes 'Extreme' style with shredded jalapeño cheese! As a visitor to Cincinnati, it was a vital that I tried out Skyline Chili! I've had Cincinnati chili many times at home We make it pretty regularly so I'm not a newbie to the dish. I've always liked having it the 5 way. I enjoyed my chili. The consistency was right and the mix of spices was noticeable. . The beans and onions were good and it was nice getting a large bag of cheese! The spaghetti was cooked correctly as well. I always enjoy Skyline Chili. I did not enjoy the hiring manager, Naz, at Oakley, OH, Skyline. Naz set up an interview with my granddaughter then cancelled it without informing anyone. So I spent two hours getting my granddaughter to and from an appointment that never happened. I total waste of my time and my granddaughter's time. When I told Naz her actions were irresponsible and inconsiderate, she told me she was "too busy" to notify my granddaughter that she cancelled the appointment. If an employee was ill and "too busy" to call in sick, I doubt Naz would be OK with that. What a horrible way to treat employees and prospective employees. I hope Oakley Skyline can find a more responsible and considerate hiring manager. read more

Though Skyline is a favorite of mine and is usually quick, the Oakley Skyline has recently changed that opinion. It took over 30 minutes for us to get helped, and an extra 30 minutes to receive the check after finishing. Hopefully it was just an anomaly and not the standard. Either way my next visit to Skyline will not happen at the one on Madison road. Much more efficient to drive the extra 10 minutes down the road to the Norwood location. read more

I'm pretty sure my body is about 80% Skyline chili at this point. This place is a staple in my cravings list. I actually came here on National Chili Day, and of course, it was packed. But, per usual, my experience was great. First of all, this is the best location on the east side of Cincinnati, hands down. As someone who lives in Norwood, I much prefer coming to this location as opposed to the Norwood one. The food (especially the chili) always tastes fresher here than other locations. It's never watery or room temperature here, unlike other locations. It's right on Madison Rd, making it a prime location for anyone living on the east side of town. This location seems to get people from Oakley, Hyde Park, Norwood, Mt Lookout, and even a few Kenwood neighbors as well. I love the mix of people that come here. I ordered my usual: a 3 way and a chili cheese sandwich. What is a chili cheese sandwich, you may ask? Let me open your eyes to a new world. Don't like the hotdog but love a coney? In a chili cheese sandwich, they stuff the bun with cheese instead of the dog. That way, you get all the amazing parts of a coney without the mediocre dog. In my opinion, the dog is only a holder for the chili and cheese. Even though it was super crowded for National Chili Day, the servers still flipped tables very quickly, and our food came out promptly. Our server came back to check on us a few times, which was appreciated, especially considering the volume of customers. Skyline Chili will always be a staple in my life. I just wanted to update after taking with a few Cincinnatians about this staple of theirs. I quickly learned from the conversations that there is a specific way to eat it...mainly, crush the oyster crackers and put them under the noodles to soak up the "chili juice" and use your fork to cut the noodles to allow you to scoop all the flavors in one bite. I had to test this out and came back a few days later. I have to say, eating it the "right way" was definitely an improvement. I personally like spicy food, so the addition of hot sauce enhanced the flavor of the "chili". All in all, big improvement for me. I am happy to walk away pleased with this Cincinnati comfort food instead of feeling mixed as I was before. Although usually this Skyline, our "home" Skyline, is great, St. Patrick's day was a clear miss. We waited probably thirty minutes in the drive thru line that went all the way around the building. When we ordered, we were asked if we wanted plain or green spaghetti in our three-way, we stated plain. Once we got home, we relaized that they not only gave us green spaghetti but it was ice cold.
