I usually ask for a cheeseburger with catsup, pickles, fried onion, fried mushrooms and extra tomatoes. They have the best freshest fires around. They cut their fries fresh and cook them in peanut oil. There is a word on the wall that tells you the farm that today's potatoes came from. The best! Came here today to celebrate my daughters birthday. Ordered 5 REGULAR burgers, 5 fries and drinks. 3 of the burgers looked like the picture. Remember the old commercial "Where's the beef?" That's what this was! I took the burgers back up to the counter and talked to a rude blonde haired girl with tattoos and glasses (description because I didn't see her name tag). I kindly told her we ordered all regular burgers and these seem to be "littles". She snapped back at me and asked if I ordered 2 patties with each one, I told her no, we all wanted one patty. She said well if you wanted a regular you had to order 2 patties. Those are correct she tells me. Ok fine.... but I'm feeding teens here and these "burgers" are far from the other 2 we received!!! We have been here many times and never had such rude service. Cashier was great, but he did ask each of us who ordered a regular burger "would you like 1 patty or 2?" I thought maybe they changed things up. If our only option for a regular burger is 2 why ask if we want 1 or 2? And why were 2 of our burgers nice and big and filled the bun and 3 were a joke? I was glutened at this location. I specifically told the person over the phone when I placed my order that I had a gluten allergy AND confirmed again at the end of the call that he had flagged my order with a gluten allergy, which he confirmed. This has happened on two other occasions, but I fortunately didn't get glutened those times. Unfortunately, I did not check my receipt for the gluten allergy notation before eating my cheeseburger. Because I hadn't had an issue previously, I trusted that the precautions had been taken. A few hours after eating my cheeseburger, I began to get abdominal pain. I'm still in pain the following day. I am so angry that the proper actions were not taken and my order was NOT marked with anything about an allergy or gluten. I checked both the receipt and the tag they tape to the bag, neither of which was marked as a gluten allergy, despite confirming with the order taker TWICE that it was done. It's obvious that employees have either not received the appropriate training for gluten allergies, or else they just don't care. I'm not sure what to think, especially since I confirmed with the guy over the phone after placing my order and before getting off the call that he had in fact notated my order with a gluten allergy. I left Olympia for about a year, and seemingly much of the staff was replaced. Many staff members now don't seem to be quite as on it as the old guys used to be. Not all of them. Some have been great. Unfortunately, the new ppl have repeatedly failed to get burgers out on time as the old guys always did, they have actually messed up my order (which had never happened once before with the old staff), and the staff is generally significantly less outgoing and friendly. The old staff greeted me when I walked in and remembered who I was (my name). Most of the current employees make no effort, and I have stood waiting for someone to acknowledge me when my already finished order was getting cold. And certainly, I have never been offered a free drink or fries, even right before closing. Service now is not horrific, but the previous employees actually were as good as any non-chain fast restaurant. The current people don't want to make the effort. Fine. But disappointing. read more

I'll say right off the bat, second only to Smashburger, five guys is my absolute favorite burger place locally. I've been to this location dozens of times, I miss the peanuts but understand in these times how that's unsafe for everyone. I can go on about the burgers here as every experience has been top tier! This time around my focus is on the fries here. COVID recently went thru our house, my wife was craving "good fries" the whole time. Having recovered fully we finally headed out for those fries. The fries here are absolutely the best! Flavorful and very well prepared! My wife said on a whim, "sorry we're only getting fries I wish it could be more. I would totally have more!" The guys at the fry machine had said he needed to refresh the fries anyway, so he doubled my wife's order! Twice of what she expected, then she shared with me! Amazing! Spit? Contempt? Since when does a fast food employee expect a tip? There is no waitstaff, just the person who takes your order and a line of food preparers. Is it a threat to ask for a gratuity before the food is prepared or served? What exactly happens when you refuse? Am I paranoid to think my level of gratuity is communicated to the team members? After-all, I had heard all the great reviews and the hype it was getting while still being built. Olympia has a lot of burger competition. I can only speak for the fries. Once a month, I take care of my fry-jones and today was November day. (I am such a wild ass). These are the best fries in the area and consistent with the Five Guys in Lakewood where I first had their fries. Hand cut. BIG individual fries from real, not mashed, potatoes. Just the right amount of crisp. Servings are over sized. The usual seems to be they fill up the fry container, put it in a paper sack (bag on the east coast) and then toss in a whole bunch more. We come here occasionally and usually enjoy the food, beverage machines and employees, but I was disappointed when I went in for a milkshake this afternoon just before 3. I asked if the mocha flavor was still available and a young woman at the head of the cook line (closest to the cashier) made sounds like she was throwing up.
