My burger was OK but this rating primarily reflects a personnel issue that needs to be addressed. The grill was turning out burger patties far faster than the stultified assembly crew could handle. Up to a dozen half-completed burgers waited in the table, top buns off, growing colder by the minute while the assemblers meandered aimlessly. I considered asking for a refund but just took mine home for a touch of microwave. It was pretty weird that no one greeted or came to us considering there were 2 of us waiting. There was a complete crew in the back, one guy announced a number (someone's order is ready) & this guy acknowledged me that they will be right with me (finally) After this guy said that, another guy from the back came to the register to take my order. I was gonna let that go & not plan on writing this review. However, when I attempted to take a seat while I wait for my food, the whole place was so dirty, not with peanuts but with actual trash. There were used napkins & ketchups under entry tables. And majority of the empty tables were not clean. The manager needs to step up his game & assign these boys to start cleaning. Can't go wrong with 5 guys. One of the only burger joints I enjoy. I would normally give them 5 stars, but the last 3 times I came here the fries were so salty, they were inedible. I always get the little bacon cheeseburger with: lettuce, tomato, pickles, grilled onion, bbq, mayo, and grilled jalapenos. If you ask for the japs grilled, they give you more than the normal amount. I've never been disappointed with their burgers, always fresh, always delicious. If you get fries and you go with someone else, share a regular size, there's always plenty and we never are never able to finish them. Service has always been excellent. read more

During this COVID19 stuff you kind of expect things to be slower, more stress due to the situation... So going in this afternoon and seeing the backup in orders and the workers high stress, I would have hoped other patrons could understand that... Unfortunately some folk didn't. A particular person cussed them out saying something to the ends of "Enjoy my f*ckin money" and just bailed. My heart goes out to the overworked employees and I said as much to them when my order was up and they felt the need to be apologetic over the situation. You guys do great work. What a surprise about Five Guys. I went hungry so I ordered their basic hamburger (all the way) and a side order of regualr fries. It's true, the reviews listed here about this place being busy, having long lines and definately being on the loud side, are very accurate. Surprisingly, the food wasn't as good as the hype. I admit the lettuce was fresh, the meat was better than most and the potatoes were home cut, but what made it a 3-star instead of 5 for me was all that good stuff was put on a soggy bun and served with an over abundance of salt on the limp and very greasy fries. Here's a tip, if you're not at least very active or if you are over your normal height and weight ratio, go for the smaller portion. Making a good hamburger quickly is a tall order and Five Guys Burgers and Fries has a Herculean task of meeting the demand. When you go keep in mind that it won't be the Holy Grail in which you seek, but they're giving it their best shot. read more

Everything is "ala carte". No full meals. A small burger (1 patty) is $6.00 w/tax. Want fries with that?? Another $4.00 w/tax A 12 oz. soda? $3.00. Totaling around $13.00. No typo, folks! That's Thirteen American Dollars! And we're not talking Red Robin burgers, either. Nothing special about the burgers. Plain, ol' Mushed meat on a bun. NOT EVEN A SESAME SEED BUN!! Being Lacey residents, West Olympia is a foreign country to us. On the rare occasion we are over there it's fun to try new things. We gave 5 Guys a shot after baseball practice one night. When I first walked in I thought "JESUS CHRIST DAMN EXPENSIVE FOR JUST A BURGER WHERES THE DAMN FRIES!! REALLY YOU PAY FOR FRIES SEPARATE?!" then I got irritated with the only one size shake. No kids menu. Totally lame right? WRONG! Yeah their prices are a bit much but damn you get what you pay for in Quality AND quantity. This ain't McDonald's kids it is fresh and fast and delicious. Nice restaurant and friendly employees, but... Until this Five Guys opened, I had not heard of this chain. And it took me quite some time to get around to visiting this location, but it wasn't really worth the wait. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, with jalapenos, and it burger was quite good, and I was impressed that they used fresh jalapenos, rather than pickled. But the fries were very substandard. There were a lot of fries, but they seemed to be overcooked and looked as if they had come from the bottom of the bag, with many small pieces. Definitely not what I was expecting, and to make matters worse the price for it all ($17.49) was breathtaking. I don't think I'll be coming here again. read more

The service at this place is just extremely lazy. After a really long day with my kid I wanted to order a quick dinner so I didn't have to cook. I live less than 10mins away and figured I would call 5 guys seeing as it was 9:30 and they closed at 10. I was told it was too late to order takeout and the phone hung up. Their was literally enough time for me to get in my car and come there to place the order in person while getting glared at my the staff who obviously didn't want to work. I wouldn't have had to come in and place my order 5 minutes before closing had they cared to take my order literally 25 minutes earlier. The previous time I was there last month we order burgers, fries and a milkshake and we were told the shake machine was broken. Then the next person in line got a free milkshake ? My boyfriend asked the staff why they could sell him a milkshake and not us and he said it was a miscommunication between staff, that the machine wasn't broken but the button to ring them in was broken so they were just giving them away. Everyone knows you come here for the fries. Except I'm pre-diabetic, so I have to pick and choose my carbs, so I usually pass on the fries and just get a small burger... In that case, why does it still get 5 stars? Because I've never been disappointed. People are cheery when they greet/ring you up. The atmosphere is busy and upbeat. The burger is tasty and greasy. I recently ordered from Five Guys through Door Dash; which the bags are and was sealed upon delivery. When called over the phone Five Guys did nothing but blame Door Dash, not to mention the manager wouldn't even speak to me over the phone. When asked to rectify their (Five Guys) obvious mistake they continued to blame Door Dash along with blatant disregard to correct the problem. The food is good but not the service. I ordered a burger, fries, regular drink, and a shake. The guy behind the counter asked if I wanted whip cream on the shake. I said yes. Then he gave me the total and I paid. He gave me a receipt but no drink cup so I had to back and get that. The food comes up within a few minutes. Still waiting on the shake so I look at the receipt and he didn't charge me for a shake (so it's not being made) so I had to go back and order/pay for it again. What should have been one, maybe two steps max was three steps. Also, their soda machine is that kind that has every combination of Coke products and there's something wrong with the calibration. It tasted pretty bad. With tax a regular size drink is over $3 and it's not worth.5 Every Five Guys I have been to in nw Washington has issues with their soda machines. They are those Coke machines that have many combos of flavors. They all fall out of calibration so you're stuck with paying $3+ for a cup and not matter what you get it tastes like crap. read more

Tried them after all the hype, and was sorely disappointed. First, $14 bought me a cheese burger, medium fries, medium drink. After 10 minutes of hearing yells of "2 in the door" "2 patties" along with the recent bubblegum pop on the overheads, I received my my paper bag of food. It ripped. As the employee was in a rush (11:00 am, no one at the counter when I walked in, order 87), he made sure to saturate the bag with grease, causing it to rip when I gripped it. Got it back to my table, along with my Barq's (CO2 going, was flat), I found that he was in such a hurry that he not only failed to wrap the burger (2 pickles, and lettuce at the bottom of the bag), but ended up dumping my cup of fries in upside down. I'm guess the burger was cold because they called out 86, 87 (mine), 88, 89, and 91 at the same time. Thanks for the assembly line! Fries were tasteless, burger was relatively cold (and had to be re-assembled) and ended up dumping the fries onto a napkin as they weren't in the cup. All in all, highly over rated, will not be spending money there again. Try the local chain down the street for a better experience. read more

Utter & complete madness. We tried Five Guys tonight for the first time, waiting until later in the evening to order online after seeing the line outside since they've opened. Online time estimate was 8 minutes--that definitely didn't happen. Arrived and it was craaaaaazy busy--there was literally a baseball team waiting for their order. The fleet of staff seemed fairly organized, except for the guy calling the orders. I told him I had an online order when I arrived, but they called a number when the food was finally done and it took a while for him to figure out it was my order. BUT I will say that the food was delicious--despite the fact that our order was wrong. Both burgers had an extra patty and some of the toppings were wrong. A couple patties were completely pink in the middle. I don't mind them a little undercooked and ate them anyway. Freaking delicious. Cajun fries were also tasty but pretty greasy--they are sitting like a rock in my belly right now. We will give them another try in a couple weeks. Hopefully the excitement & craziness will calm down and the staff will know what they're doing by then. read more

I'm a huge fan of Five Guys and have visited several locations in and out of Washington State. This is my first time trying this new location in Olympia. Overall, the staff and location are very nice. The food was about average (a little worse than the others I have tried), but I also realize the staff are inexperienced and new. Five Guys in Olympia is exactly what you'd expect it to be: juicy burgers, crisp bacon and super delicious Cajun fries!! My friends and I are "regulars" and are always greeted by friendly staff (Harley!!) and our orders are always perfect. We usually come in closer to closing time, but are always welcomed and never meant to feel rushed so that they can hurry and get home. Kudos to this location and even more to Harley for always making our trip to Five Guys great!! read more
